오디세이 학교 길잡이의 교육과정 개발 및 운영 경험 분석을 통한 교원양성과정에의 함의

본 연구는 H 오디세이 학교의 길잡이로 파견된 공교육 교사의 경험을 분석하여 그 양상을 도출하고, 이를 통하여 공교육 내 대안교육이 모색되는 시대에 교원양성과정에서 교사에게 함양되기를요구되는 새로운 역량이 무엇일지에 대한 교육적 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 H 오디세이 학교의 길잡이를 대상으로 내러티브 탐구를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 길잡이의 경험은 다음과같은 양상으로 유형화되었다. 첫째, 길잡이는 국가 교육과정과 대안 교육 사이에서 딜레마를 경험하며 교육과정을 편성하고 운영하고 있었다. 둘째, 역량 중심 교육과정 구현을 위해 노력하고 있었다. 셋째, 길잡이는 공교육에서 경험하지 않았던 교육과정 의사결정의 딜레마를 경험하고 있었다. 넷째, 교실을 넘어선 지역사회로 확대된 배움의 교육과정을 계획하고, 마지막으로 학생이 배움의주체가 되는 교육과정을 지향하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과 교육과정 개발자이자 실행자로서 오디세이 학교 길잡이의 경험의 특징과 주제가 도출되었고, 이는 공교육 내 대안교육을 도전하는 유사 사례에 적용점을 제공하고, 교원양성과정에 대한 시사점을 제시한다는 점에서 교육적의의를 지닌다. This study analyzed the H Odyssey School teacher’s curriculum development and implementation experiences, with the underlying purpose being to explore the educational implications of the new competencies required for the pre-service teacher education. For this purpose, this study conducted a narrative inquiry by selecting one teacher of H Odyssey School as a research participant. The results were as follows: first, the teacher experienced a dilemma between the national curriculum and alternative education; second, the teacher tried to implement the competency centered curriculum; third, the teacher felt conflicted and deliberated about the curriculum as a process which they had not previously experienced in public education; fourth, the teacher planned the curriculum and expanded it to extend beyond the classroom to the local community; fifth, the teacher developed and carried out the curriculum to enable the students to have learning experiences as the subject of learning. As a result of this study, the characteristics and themes of the Odyssey school teacher as the curriculum developer and practitioner were derived. These findings will have applications with similar cases challenging alternative education in public education, and will suggest implications for the pre-service teachers' education.

전환학년 과정에 대한 학생의 교육 경험 연구: H 오디세이 학교를 중심으로

본 연구는 전환학년 과정으로서 공적 대안교육을 실천하고 있는 H 오디세이 학교학생의 경험에 대해 연구하고, 이를 통해 향후 공교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구 참여자는 2017년에 H 오디세이 학교에서 전환학년 과정을 이수한 학습자 6명을 대상으로 하였으며, 2017년 6월부터 2018년 4월까지 문서 자료와 면담자료가 수집되었고, 그들의 경험을 이해하기 위해 내러티브 탐구를 수행하였다. 학생들의 교육 경험을 분석한 결과, 네 가지의 양상이 도출되었다. 첫째, 학생들은 자 기 주도적으로 학교교육에 참여하고 있었다. 둘째, 학생들은 자아를 찾는 과정에서 내적 성장을 이루고 있었다. 셋째, 학생들은 함께 어우러지는 공동체의 힘을 발휘하고 있었다. 넷째, 타인과 세상에 관심을 갖게 됨으로써 앞으로 어떤 삶을 살아야 할 지에 대한 고민을 하고 있었다. 본 연구의 결과, 전환학년 과정에서는 학생들의 성장을 위하여 무엇보다도 그들이 내적인 힘을 기를 수 있도록 하는 교육 경험을 제공해 주는 것이 중요하다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. This study analyzed the experiences of H Odyssey School students who experienced a transition year course, in order to suggest implications for public education. The research participants were six students who experienced one transition year course in H Odyssey school, in 2017. And document data and interview data were collected from June 2017 to April 2018. This study conducted a narrative inquiry to understand students experiences. The results were as follows; first, the students participated in school education on their own initiative; second, the students grew up internally in the process of finding themselves; third, the students experienced the power of the community; fourth, the students thought about how to live by interesting in other people and the world. These findings show that the educational experiences for the internal growth of students are important in the transition year.

본 연구는 대안교실 담당자의 인식을 심층적으로 탐색하고 그에 따른 주요 과제를 도출하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 문헌연구와 심층면접을 통해 500여 개의 Q모집단을 구축하였으며, 중복 진술문 삭제 및 유목화 과정을 거쳐 최종 30개의 Q표본을 선정하였다. 대안교실 담당자 총 31명을 대상으로 Q분류를 진행한 결과, 대안교실에 대한 담당자의 인식 유형은 4가지로 확인되었다. 1유형은 ‘대안교실 지원 제도 체계화형’으로 학생 맞춤형 교육이라는 취지에 맞게 운영될 수 있도록 지원 제도를 정비하는 것을 중요하게 인식하였다. 2유형은 ‘적극적 업무 수행을 위한 근거 마련형’으로 담당자의 사명감을 중시하였으며, 대안교실 담당자로서 권위를 가지고 적극적으로 업무를 수행하기 위해서는 운영에 대한 명확한 근거가 필요하다고 응답하였다. 3유형은 ‘업무 과중으로 인한 소진형’으로 업무 과부하로 인한 한계를 느끼고 있었다. 이를 극복하기 위해 인센티브 부여와 같은 동기부여 방안이 마련될 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다. 마지막 4유형은 ‘협력 강화 우선형’으로 대안교실의 취지와 목적을 정확히 설명하는 홍보를 통해 관리자, 동료교사, 학부모의 협력을 이끌어내야 한다고 인식하였다. 이를 바탕으로 ‘담당자의 역량 강화’, ‘명확한 법적 근거 마련’, ‘담당자 동기부여’, ‘취지와 목적에 대한 홍보’를 대안교실 발전을 위한 주요 과제로 도출하였다. 본 연구는 학생 맞춤형 교육으로의 전환에 대한 요구가 커지고 있는 시점에서 대안교실에 대해 논의하였다는 점에 의의가 있으며, 대안교실에 참여하는 다양한 주체들에게 대안교실 발전을 위한 계획을 수립하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This study focused on exploring the perception of the person in charge of alternative classrooms in schools and to reveal the major tasks involved in this. Q population, consisting of a total of 500 statements was constructed by means of literature research and interviews. The final 30 Q samples were selected through deletion of duplicate statements and a classification process. The Q sorting was conducted by 31 teachers responsible for alternative classrooms in schools. The results identified a total of four types. The first type was referred to as a ‘Systematized support system for alternative classrooms’. The second type was described as ‘Establishing the legislation for active performance’, the third type was named ‘Exhaustion type due to tasks being burdensome’. Finally, the fourth type was ascribed the title the ‘Priority type for strengthening cooperation’. This study is expected to be helpful in establishing plans for the development of alternative classrooms in schools.
