로타리압축기는 냉동 및 공조용으로 폭넓게 사용되는 핵심 제품이다. 로타리압축기는 특성상 부하 변동이 1 회전당 회전수의 변동으로 나타나고, 이러한 변동이 시스템의 전체적인 성능을 저하시키는 결과를 나타낸다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 압축기 부하의 동적거동을 해석하였다. 결과로, 실험과 해석적으로 성능에 영향을 미치는 원인을 규명할 수 있었고, 실험과 해석은 잘 일치하였다.

Thermal-flow characteristics in coolant flow passage of screw compressor have been investigated. In particular, the effects of the inclined angle (α=0˚?, ±2˚?, ±5˚?) of separation block in the coolant channel are studied. Numerical study was performed by using ANSYS CFX with the shear stress transport(SST) turbulence model. Results showed that the pressure drop and heat transfer increase as the inclined angle of separation block increases, which is resulted from the flow separation and centrifugal force. The results were graphically depicted with various flow and geometrical conditions.

Three-dimensional shape retrieval system allows designers to search previously designed similar design models from the engineering database, and therefore to save the time for designing similar parts. In this paper, we examine and compare currently available shape search methods for three-dimensional engineering models. Our goal is to select and combine existing shape search methods and to devise a innovative user interface to implement a commercially effective shape retrieval system in engineering domain. This paper reports preliminary results of our research. 3D shape searching service enables to design swiftly through the model data searching and modification of existing model to be designing. This study would like to support every data form which is used in the industry including mainstream CAD data form and standard date form such as STEP on shape comparison for 3D shape searching. Therefore, we are researching on searching service which conducts shape comparison using that can be mesh based data.

Mobile harbor system is a new concept of the system for harbor loading and unloading operation at open sea. This new concept is being developed as an alternative plan for harbor loading and unloading operations instead of expanding capacity of existing quay or new construction of quay. Lack of proper coastal lines for building new quays and increasing environmental concerns justify the open sea loading and unloading of containers to and from containerships. Current approaches, which are still in the stages of idea conception, are divided in two directions. The first is the idea of building a unified vessel that has cranes and container barge in a single unit. The second idea is separating crane vessel and container transport vessel as separate modules, thus called as modular mobile harbor system. This paper describes the issues related to the container transport vessel, which we call shuttle module, that is designed for receiving containers from the crane module, transporting container to the quay, and unloading at the quay. The reverse operations are considered in the design of the shuttle module as well. Important issues related to the design of shuttle module are discussed and initial concept design is proposed in the paper.
