본 논문에서는 HMM 의 이산분포를 연속분포로 근사시키는 준 연속분포 HMM 에 의한 한국어 단어인식에 관하여 연구하였다. 이 모델의 생성과정에서는 입력벡터의 출력확률을 혼합 다차원 정규분 포로 가정하여 입력벡터의 확률함수와 코드위드의 심볼출력을 선형결합하므로써, 연속분포 모델로 근사 시켰으며, 단어인식과정에서는 생성모델에 의해 이산분포 모델에서 발생되는 양자와 왜곡을 감소시키므 로써 인식률을 향상시켰다. 이 방법을 평가하기 위하여 DDD 지역명을 대상으로 이산분포 HMM과 준연 속분포 HMM 의 비교실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 준연속분포 HMM 에 의하여 이산분포 HMM 보다 향상된 인식률을 얻을 수 있었다.

This paper studies on the Korean word recognition using the semi-continuous hidden Markov model(SCHMM) which approximate the discrete hidden Markov model(DHMM) to the continuous hidden Markov models(CHMM). In generating of this model, the output probability of an input vector, which is assumed to the mixture continuous Gaussian distribution, is linearly combined with the probability function of each input vector and the symbol output of codewords for approximating to the CHMM, In the word recognition, this model recognized words more correctly than the DHMM because of reducing a quantized distortion due to the DHMM. In order to evaluate this model, comparing experiments between DHMM and SCHMM are carried out for DDD area names. Also, input vector takes the traditional LPC or the LPC cepstrum using euclidean distance. As a result, recognition rate of the SCHMM using the LPC cepstrum is improved.

In this paper, we implemented the hangeul tactile recognition system for the Blind. The system is consist of hardware part and software part.The hardware part is consist of a scanner interface image processing system, a electro tactile output device inter and auser interface. The software system consist of pattern learning routine,image processing and character pattern output routine, file management and operation window routine. The 16 by 16 of return electrode is driven by a electro-tacttile device. The recognition experimention distinguished learning beforefrom learning after,after learning the recognition rate is higher than learning before. As a results of experimentation before and after learning,the later is superior to the former. Therefore,if learning is increased, we can take higher recognition rate.

In this study, we report the characteristics of three Kinds of Radar Exploration Systems, which are used in geological cavity detection, for effective use. The systems are RAMAC, PEMSS and KAIST CW. We repeated measurements each system for same geological model. The AMAC System has a unique capability in finding fracture zones from the reflected waves, and represents the cavity as a hyperbola because the cavity responds as a point source. In the PEMSS systems the relative velocity and attenuation of the electromagnetic wave which varies by geological medium represents geological structures. The main merit of the PEMSS system is cavity localization. The location of the cavity is determined the depths of cavity signals in each offset data. The KAIST CW system also detects a cavity from the attenuation pattern of continuous waves. This uses the phenomenon of 180'phase change of the wave when it propagates the cavity, producing the high attenuation at that point. Our study shows that the RAMAC is suitable in cavity scanning, the PEMSS is adaptive in precise geology exploration, and KAIST CW is best in cavity detection.

In this paper, the low wattage electronic ballast for double ended 70W metal halide lamp has been investigated. To prevent a physical destruction of lamp from acoustic resonances, the proposed ballast operates at high frequency(200KHz) range square-wave alternating voltage to a metal halide lamp, reduce the start up time of lamp and electric power consumption. Besides ac voltage prevent wearing the one of a pair electrode in arc discharging. As a result, this lamp experiment shows 82W and 0.34A imput power and tube current, respectively. Lamp luminous flux is 5300lm with 82W input power and ballast efficiency is 64.63lm/w. The average starting time and restarting time of lamp are 3.9 min and 4.5 minute, respectively.
MPMG 공정을 이용한 입자크기별 고온초전도 후막의 특성분석

YBCO thick films using the melt-powder-melt-growth(MPMG) method were fabricated to achieve high critical current density. The ratio of mixed powders is YBa_2Cu_3O : Y_2BaCuO = 1 : 0.4. The highest critical temperature showed 87 K in a particle size of 63μm. Also, we have fabricated the painted Y-Ba-Cu-O thick films on the alumina oxide substrates by the same process dependent on size of particles. The sizes and the number of voids increased with increasing that of particles.
