        낙동강 하류 수계에서 저층수 및 저질퇴적층의 환경

        We surveyed physico-chemical properties of bottom water and sediment to evaluate the influence of sediment on the eutrophication in the downstream of Nagdong River from 1998 to 2000. From May to August, DO concentration of bottom waters dropped below 5 mg O₂/I and NH₄^(+) and PO₄³^(-) concentrations significantly increased in the bottom waters, resulting in the great differences between surface and bottom waters. Fluxes across water-sediment interface would be substantially active in this period. The serial orders of the water fertility or eutrophication were Joman River > Songdong River > Nagdong River. The organic nutrient contents of sediment increased toward the lower parts of the river system. Organic contents of the sediment would be under the influence of water pollution and exhibited a negative correlation with sediment bulk-density or particle size. The concentrations of exchange-able inorganic nutrients of sediment were greater than those of pore waters, and PO₄³^(-), NH₄^(+) and SiO₂increased along the sediment depth. PO₄³^(-) and NO₃^(-) concentration of the pore water were less than the overlying waters, while NH₄^(+) and SiO₂ concentrations showed opposite trends. Exchangeable nutrients of sediment could be the repository for the nutrient exchange in the water-sediment interface.

        낙동강 하류 수계에서 저질퇴적층의 SOD와 영양염 용출

        Nutrient fluxes and sediment oxygen demands (SOD) were measured with intact sediment cores collected from three stations in the downstream of Nagdong River. The sediments were subjected to controlled oxic and hypoxic conditions and temperature gradients (from 10℃ to 30℃) of the overlying waters in laboratory batch system. The effect of temperature and labile layer thickness of the sediment on SOD were examined. PO₄³^(-) and NH₄^(+) fluxes were elevated above 20℃ and large mobilities were observed when they were coupled with a hypoxic and high-temperature condition. In the well oxygenated conditions, PO₄³^(-) fluxes were negative or negligible but NH₄ fluxes ranged from 1.3mgNm^(-)²hr^(-)¹to 2.3mgNm^(-)²hr^(-)¹. Temperature quotients (Q_(10)) of PO₄³^(-) fluxes were 3.7~7.3 ranges to have the most high values. PO₄³^(-) and NH₄fluxes had the logarithmic increase with temperature, while NO₃^(-) was negatively absorbed to the sediment and linearly correlated with the temperature. SiO₂ fluxes showed no difference among oxic and hypoxic conditions and sediment texture. The nutrient fluxes would be closely correlated with pore water chemistry of sediments and activated by the top sediment layer composition such as labile organic matters or algal detritus. The ecological implications of the nutrient fluxes were discussed in terms of sources and sinks of nutrients coupled to algal productions in the Nagdong River.

        서낙동강에서 식물플랑크톤의 1차 생산성

        Primary productivity of phytoplankton was measured by ^(14)C method from January to October of 1996 in Seonakdong River. This river was a highly productive freshwater showing the euphotic depth of 1.4m in August and 2.1m in the remaining season. Cholrophyll-a concentrations of phytoplankton ranged from 67㎍L^(-1) to 894 ㎍L^(-1) and showed the great increase in August. Maximum specific productivity was 2.1∼4.3㎎C㎎chal-a^(-1)hr^(-1) and occured above 0.4m depth. In photosynthesis-irradiance relation, phytoplankton occured clearly in the cold seasons, while phytoplankton(mainly Microcystis aeruginosa and its relatives) in August did not show any symptom of the photosynthetic inhibition aganinst the high irradiance. The specific productivity of phytoplankton was eventually dependant upon incident irradiance to show the linear correlation with received irradiance in field, and the areal productivity of phytoplankton upon chlorophyll-a standing drops. In the downstream of the Nakdong River, phytoplankton productions have linearly increased since the estuarine barrage construction to reflect the gradual eutrophication in the estuarine area. Average chlorophyll-a increase of 10㎍ chl-a L^(-1) absolutely corresponded to the primary proceduction acceleration of 30㎎Cm^(-2)day^(-1) on the annual basis.

        저전압구동 ZnS:Mn EL device의 제작 및 전기 광학적 특성조사

        ZnS:Mn TFEL device를 전자선 진공증착법으로 제작하여 전기광학적 특성에 관하여 조사하였다. $Ta_2O_5$ 박막의 산소 결핍에 따른 정전용량을 측정하기 위하여 산소분위기에서 열처리에 따른 AES(Auger electron spectroscopy)와 C-F를 측정하였다. 제작한 EL 소자의 전기장 발광 파장은 550~650nm 였으며 이것은 $Mn^{2+}$ 이온의 $3d^5$ 여기준위인 $^4T_1(^4G)$ 에서 $3d^5$ 기저준위인 $^6A_1(^S)$로의 내각전자전이 피크이다. 열처리를 수행하지 않은 $Ta_2O^5$를 절연층으로 사용한 EL 소자의 발광시작전압은 24~28V이고 색도 좌표값 X=0.5151, Y=0.4202인 황등색 발광을 하였다. $Ta_2O_5$를 절연층으로 사용한 소자가 저전압에서 구동이 가능하므로 EL 소자의 실용화가 기대된다. ZnS:Mn TFEL devices were fabricated by electron-beam evaporation method and then the electro-optical properties were investigated. To investigate the capacitance which was due to oxygen vacancy at the $Ta_2O_5$ thin film, AES(Auger Electron Spectroscopy) and C-F(capacitance-frequency) measurements were used. It was found that the capacitance was decreased by annealing the $Ta_2O_5$ film in oxygen ambience. From EL emission measurement, we observed the EL emission spectrum which had the peak range from 550nm and 650nm. This emission is associated with the transition from $^4T_1(^4G)$ first excited state to $^6A_1(^6S)$ ground state in the $3d^5$ energy level configuration of $Mn^{2+}$ occurs. The threshold voltage of EL device with $Ta_2O_5$ insulator layer was found to be 24V~28V. The CIE color coordinates of these emission are X=0.5151, Y=0.4202 which is yellowish orange emitting. The EL device using $Ta_2O_5$ insulator layer can be driven with a low voltage which is beneficial to the practical application.
