Sector scanner which has a conical end is used to image through the intercostal space because heart is protected by the ribs. Cardiac data published all around the world were also obtained by sector scanner. Although scanners being used in every small animal practice and animal hospital at college in Korea include convex ape and linear type, linear type is not appropriate f3r cardiac scan because of a wide contact surface. The purpose of this study is to establish ultrasonographic images of normal cardiac structures by measuring shape, size of reflectable cardiac structure according to restraint position in scanning normal heart of the puppies with 6.5 MHz convex scanner(SonoAce 4500, Medison, Korea) used in our veterinary teaching hospital, Seoul national university. Seventeen male and female puppies considered having healthy hear by X-ray and clinical examination are used feom April to July 1994. Scanning point selection of probe head and the distinction of imaged cardiac structures were accomplished by necropsy and cardiac scanning performed through thoracotomy under general anesthesia. At 10 o'clock position of transducer(at an angle of 30$^{\circ}$ between imaginary line from elbow joint to 3rd sternum and probe head, 60$^{\circ}$ from body surface, 4th intercostal space of right thorax) with the marker of scanner toward the head of dogs right atrium, left atrium and left ventricle were observed in 2, 3, 4, 5 intercostal space(2cm from the sternum) of experimental dog positioned ventrodorsally under general anesthesia. Under these conditions, the numerical values of imaged diastolic hear are as follows : the distance from skin to apex(mean$\pm$S.D) 47.53$\pm$6.94mm, thickness of left ventricular wall 6.00$\pm$1.60mm, length of left ventricle 16.27$\pm$5.31mm, width of left ventricle 15,33$\pm$4.25mm, length of left atrium 12.33$\pm$3.82mm, width of left atrium 11. 33$\pm$3.94mm, length of right atrium 1.00$\pm$2.41mm, width of right atrium 11.21$\pm$2.76mm and the area of left ventricle 270.92$\pm$109.81mm$^2$, area of left atrium 98.00$\pm$41.08mm$^2$, area of right atrium 62.75$\pm$21.04mm$^2$.
Langmuir-Blodgett법을 이용한 (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) 착물의 초박막 제작

본 연구에서는 (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ (1:2) 착물의 LB초박막을 제작하였다. LB막의 누적을 위한 최적조건을 구하기 위하여 subphase 온도, barrier 압축속도 및 분산량을 변화시키면서 표면압-면적(${\pi}$-A) 등온선 특성을 측정하였다. 그리고 전이비, UV-vis의 최대 흡광도, 정전용량 및 두께를 측정하여 LB막의 누적상태를 확인하였다. 그 결과 분자수준으로 잘 제어된 양호한 LB막이 제작되었음을 알 수 있었다.. In this research, We fabricated Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) ultra-thin films with (N-docosyl quinolinium)- TCNQ(1:2) complex. The characteristics ${\pi}$-A isotherms were studied to find optimum conditions of deposition by varing temperature of subphase, compression speed of barrier and amount of spreading solution. Film formation was verified by measuring transfer ratio, maximum absorption of UV-vis spectra, capacitance and ellipsometry. From the results, it was concluded that the LB film formed well with molecular oder was fabricated.

This study is first report on dermatitis digitalis and dermatitis verrucosa, which were occurred in bovine claw, in the Republic of Korea. Pathologically, dermatitis digitalis was observed in the from of surperficial epidermitis on the skin at the caudal end of interdigital cleft with whitish epithelial bordel while dermatitis verrucosa in the form of wart-like proliferation of the skin midway between the bulbs and adjacent to the coronary band. Histological finding of dermatitis verrucosa were noticeable parakeratotic hyperkeratosis of the epidermis, acanthosis, spongiosis of prickle cell layer and intercellular bridges.
콘크리트우상을 지닌 후리스톨이 젖소의 혈액화학적 성상 및 발굽질환의 임상 형태병리에 미치는 영향

During the period from june 1994 to february 1995 influence of free stall with concrete floor on profile of blood chemistry and clinico-morphopathogenesis of foot disease on 266 cows were studied. The results obtained as follow. 1. No differences between value of blood chemistry in normal and lame cows with foot disease were observed. 2. 20.7% of the cows were clinically lame. 3. Prevalence of clinical digital disorders were investigated: hyperplasia interdigitalis(45.8%), pododermatitis circumscripta(22.4%), dermatitis interdigitalis(9.4%), erosio ungulae(5.9%), phlegmona interdigitalis(3.5%), pododermatitis septica traumatica(3.5%), dermatitis digitalis(2.4%), white line disease(2.4%), pododermatitis aseptica diffusa(2.4%), dermatitis verrucosa(1.2%), fissura ungulae(1.2%) 4. Most claw lesions were located on lateral hindclaws and interdigital space of hindclaws.

70 cows with abomasal torsion and 71 cows with right-side displacement of the abomasum were examined to determine whether the preoperative blood base-excess concentration could be used both as a prognostic indicator for postoperative recovery in cows with abomasal torsion and as an aid in differentiating between abomasal torsion and right-side displacement of the abomasum. The survival rate of cows with abomasal torsion decreased as the base-excess concentration decreased(P=0.08). There was a significant difference(P<0.025) among base-excess ranges between abomasal torsion and right-side displacement of the abomasum. Most cows with base-excess concentrations ${\geq}15.0mEq/L$ and ${\leq}-0.5mEq/L$ had abomasal torsion, rather than right-side displacement of the abomasum.
랭뮤어-블로젯법에 의한 양친매성 스쿠아릴리움 색소의 초박막 제작

Ultra-thin films of amphiphilic Squarylium dye were prepared on the hydrophilic glass substrate by Langumuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. From the measurement of the surface pressure-area($\pi$-A) isotherm at air-water interface, it was found that amphiphilic Squarylium dye can form the stable monolayers. Using the LB technique, the Z-type monolayer assembly can be obtained. The amphiphilic Squarylium dye LB films exhibit λ\ulcorner at 684nm. The absorption is significantly red-shifted from solution of amphiphilic Squarylium dye(637nm in chloroform), suggesting that the Squarylim chromophores form J-aggregate in the LB film.
소 발굽병의 외과적 치료법 및 발굽마취법 확립에 관한 연구

forty-five claw lamed cows with pododermatitis circumscripta, hyperplasia interdigitalis, and dermatitis verrucosa were treated surgically through resection of necrotic tissues, currettage, antibiotics application, and compressive bandage, under retrograde intravenous regional anesthesia of claw. At 7 days postoperation were showed lameness score 0, absense of swelling of extremitis, without fistulation and purulent exudate in wound. Mean duration time of action of local anesthetic drug was 75 minutes and mean operation time for treatment of pododermatitis circumscripta, hyperplasia interdigitalis, and dermatitis verrucosa was 35 minutes, 20 minutes, and 21 minutes, respectively.
(N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) 전하 이동 착물 Langmuir-Blodgett막의 분자 배향에 관한 연구

Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) 법은 미래의 분자전자소자를 위한 가장 유력한 수단이며, 이러한 분자박막 소자는 그 성질이 분자는 배향에 영향을 박데 되므로 현재 새로운 물질을 이용하여 분자전자소자의 제작에 있어 관심을 모으고 있다. 본 연구에서는 (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) 전하 이동 착물 LB 막의 분자 배향을 UV/vis 편광흡수 스펙트럼과 FT-IR transmission 및 reflection-absorption 스펙트럼의 흡수강도를 비교하여 정량적으로 평가하였다. 그 결과 TCNQ의 transition dipole moment의 각은 약 56~58。 였으며, 알킬 고리의 경사각은 약 11.1~13。였다. 제작된 Z-형 LB 막의 표면은 고압에서 중앙 높이 차가 3~4$\AA$으로 평탄하였다.
