The Gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) is a serious pest that attacks forest as well as fruit trees. We sequenced the 15,548 bp long complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of this species. It consists of a typical set of genes (13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 22 tRNA genes) and one major non-coding A + T-rich region. The orientation and gene order of the L. dispar mitogenome are identical to that of the ancestral type found in majority of the insects. Phylogenetic analyses using concatenated sequences of 13 PCGs and 2 rRNAs (13,568 bp including gaps) revealed that the L. dispar examined in our study, together with other geographical samples of L. dispar in a group forming the family Erebidae and consistently supported the monophyly of each family (Erebidae, Euteliidae, Noctuidae, Nolidae and Notodontidae), generally with the highest nodal supports.

This study aims to investigate and verify the effect of participation motivation of badminton club members on leisure satisfaction, continuance intentions and happiness. this study conducted a survey targeting total 303 members of a badminton club and of the collected questionnaires, 301 sheets excepting 2 that answers are considered unreliable, untrustworthy or omitted were used as data. And SPSS 25.0 & AMOS 18.0 was used for data analysis. As for analysis methods, frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis were used for producing conclusions. First, participation motivation of badminton club members affects their leisure satisfaction. Second, participation motivation of badminton club members turned out to have an influence on their continuance intentions. Third, leisure satisfaction of badminton club members have an effect on continuance intentions, and lastly, participation motivation of badminton club members has a significant impact on their happiness.

The purpose of this study is to establish design guidelines for waterscape facilities of healing gardens in psychiatric hospitals. Data were collected through simulation and interview. The subjects included schizophrenic (n=42) and alcoholic (n=41) inpatients as well as medical staff personnel (n=40) at Maeumsarang Hospital. The results of this study are as follows: It was revealed that for all three groups the first preference was a natural flowing waterscape, and the second preference was a natural descending waterscape. The schizophrenic subjects had a greater preference for a static artificial waterscape and a descending artificial multistory waterscape than the other two groups. The alcoholic subjects preferred an ascending natural multistory waterscape. The analysis on the preference towards an ascending type and a descending type from the perspective of naturalness and complexity. Complexity had a greater influence than naturalness in the ascending waterscapes, and naturalness had more influence than complexity in the descending style waterscapes. Therefore, these factors need to be taken into consideration when designing either ascending or descending waterscape facilities. In general, the subjects preferred natural, dynamic and descending waterscapes to the artificial, static and ascending variety.

Background and objective: To improve air quality, particulate matter (PM) can be reduced using green infrastructure. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to determine the particulate matter reduction potential of climbing plants used for green walls, an element of vertical green infrastructure. Methods: A sealed chamber with controlled environmental variables was used to assess the PM reduction level caused by climbing plants. PM concentration in the plant chamber was measured after two and four hours of PM exposure, and the reduction potential was assessed based on the leaf area. Results: Compared to the empty chamber (Control), the PM reduction speed per hour was higher in the plant chamber, which confirmed that climbing plants contribute to the reduction of PM in the air. The PM reduction speed immediately after exposure in the plant chamber was high, but this slowed over time. Additionally, PM has been continuously reduced in plants with large leaves. As a result of calculating the particulate matter reduction level based on leaf area, it was found that there was a difference by particle size. Actinidia arguta, Parthenocissus tricuspidata, Trachelospermum asiaticum, and Euonymus fortunei var. radicans showed a high reduction effect. The trichomes on the leaf surface of Trachelospermum asiaticum were found to affect PM reduction. Conclusion: PM adsorption on the leaf surface is an important factor in reducing its concentration. It was possible to compare different plants by quantifying the amount of PM reduction during a fixed time period. These results can be used as the basic data to select the plant species suitable for urban green walls in terms of PM reduction.
