Adventures of Huckleberry Finn에 나타난 자유추구의 의미

Huckleberry Finn contains three main elements. The most obvious is the story of Huck’s and Jim’s flight toward freedom. While Jim runs away from actual slavery, Huck runs from his cruel father, the well-intentioned “civilizing” efforts, of Miss Watson and the Widow Douglas, and from respectability and routine in general. Another element in the novel is the social satire of the towns along the river. The satire is often transcendently funny, especially in episodes involving the rascally Duke and King, but it also deals with appalling violence, as in the Grangerford-Shepherdson feud or Colonel Sherburn’s murder of the helpless Boggs. The third major element in the book is the developing characterization of Huck. This thesis studies the meaning of three different types of pursuits of freedom in Huckleberry Finn. The first is the pursuit of freedom from civilization. The second is the pursuit of freedom from an evil society and the inhumanistic cruelty industrial revolution caused The last concerns the development of Huck’s search for freedom. I have been studying the purpose of this book especially from the pursuit of freedom point of view. Mark Twain conveys to readers what real freedom is and what is precious in our lives. He offers us many chances to think about the theme of freedom in this book. He hoped that we could change social values and attitudes for the benefit of all human beings.

직업군인의 퇴직태도 및 라이프스타일이 노후준비에 미치는 영향 연구

본 연구는 직업군인이 인식하고 있는 퇴직태도 및 라이프스타일이 노후준비에 미치는 영향을 연구하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2018년에 육군, 해군, 공군, 해병대에 근무하는 장교와 부사관 1,125명의 설문을수리하여 분석에 사용하였다. 본 연구를 위해서 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 활용하였다. 먼저 빈도분석을 통하여 응답자의 일반적인 특성을알아보았고, 다음으로 회귀분석을 통하여 직업군인의 퇴직태도 및 라이프스타일이 노후준비에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직업군인의 인구사회학적 특성 중 노후준비에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 직업군인의 ‘성별’, ‘종교 유무’, ‘노후준비를 시작하는 연령’ 요인이었다. 퇴직태도 요인 중에서는 ‘휴식으로의 전환’, ‘새로운 출발’, ‘계속되는 삶’ 요인이었으며, 라이프스타일 중에서는 ‘건강추구’, ‘동료관계 추구’, ‘종교 및 봉사활동 추구’ 요인이 노후준비에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 퇴직태도 요인이 노후준비 요인에 미치는 영향은 퇴직태도의 ‘계속되는 삶’ 요인이 ‘경제적인 노후준비’ 요인에, 퇴직태도의 ‘새로운 출발’ 요인은 ‘신체적’, ‘정서적’, ‘사회적’ 노후준비 요인에 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 라이프스타일 요인이 노후준비 요인에 미치는 영향은 라이프스타일의 ‘건강추구’요인이 ‘경제적’, ‘신체적’ 노후준비 요인에, ‘보수적인 가족추구’ 요인은 ‘정서적인 노후준비’ 요인에, ‘동료관계 추구’ 요인은‘사회적인 노후준비’ 요인에 커다란 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 이상의 연구결과는 직인군인 개인은 물론, 국방부나 각 군 차원에서 직업군인의 노후준비를 위하여 퇴직태도를 긍정적인 방향으로 유도하거나, 노후준비에 도움이 될 라이프스타일을 계발하는데, 기초자료로 활용이 가능할 것이다. The purpose of this study is to examine how career soldiers’ attitudes about retirement and lifestyles of affect their retirement preparation. To do this, in 2018, we surveyed 1,125 officers and non-commissioned officers working in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. For this study, we utilized the SPSS 23.0 program and first looked at the general characteristics of respondents through frequency analysis, and then used regression analysis to look at the effects of career soldiers retirement attitudes and lifestyles on retirement preparation. The results of the study are as follows. First, among the demographic characteristics; the factors that significantly affected retirement preparation for career soldiers were “Gender”, “Religious status” and “The age at which retirement preparation was started”. Among the factors for retirement attitudes were “Conversion to rest”, “A new beginning” and “Continuous life,”. Among lifestyle factors were, “Health-seeking”, “Seeking companionship” and “Seeking religious activities.” Second, the effect of retirement attitudes on preparations for old age were the “Continuous life” of retirement attitudes on “Economic old age preparation” and the “New start” of retirement attitudes on “Physical, Emotional and Social old age preparation.” Third, our analysis revealed that the impact of lifestyle on preparations for retirement is that “Health promotion” of lifestyle has the greatest influence on “Economic and Physical preparation”, “Conservative family pursuit” on “Emotional preparation” and “Seeking of peer relationship” have the greatest influence on “Social preparation for retirement.” The above findings will lead to a more positive approach to retirement attitudes of careersoldiers at the Ministry of National Defense or in each military branch. The data these findings provide can also be used for developing various lifestyles.

MND-AF를 활용한 운용개념기술서(OCD) 및 운용요구서(ORD)에 대한 보완 연구

Modern weapon systems are composed of complex systems(System of Systems) and require a complex and advanced operational concept that performs missions through interoperability with various weapon systems. In order to derive the operational concept of the weapon system that the military wants to acquire (i.e., single mission, component operation, Joint and Alliance operations), it is necessary to identify the system related to the weapon system, environmental factors and restrictions of the weapon system to be developed. Through the derivation of the operational concept, the weapon system acquisition agency can reasonably and accurately extract various and complex requirements. In this paper, we propose a complementary method of using MND-AF to OCD and ORD required in weapon system acquisition process. MND-AF can increase the understanding and consensus of business stakeholders (users, acquirers, developers, etc.) by showing the results of weapon system analysis from various perspectives. We compare the items in the standard form of OCD and ORD with the MND-AF outputs.

Many companies around the world are applying CMMI to improve the organization's ability to perform projects, and many others are pushing to obtain CMMI certification as more and more of them are offered as preconditions for participation in projects or supply product. Organizations with high maturity such as CMMI Level 4~5, analyze the accumulated R&D data of the organization and establish the performance management model so that R&D performance is continuously managed. So this paper shows the R&D performance management model made by LIGNex1 which is certificated with CMMI Level 5 organization and the case applied to the project, including its effectiveness.

『오 개척자들!』과 『나의 안토니아』에 타나난 에코페미니즘

Willa Cather’s works have been studied in various ways for past decades. Some say her works are the frontier’s novels and others say lesbian and feminism novels. In this thesis, however, I have dealt Cather's works, O Pioneers', and My Antonia in an ecofeministic point of view. Nowadays, of course, the ecofeminism is different from the authors. They usually described the rights of the women and the equation of the man and woman and how to struggle to get their natural rights. In this paper, I mainly followed point of view of Vandana Shiva, and Maria Mies. They think of the earth as Mother. They insisted that we have to take good care of the natural order and environment problems when we develop the earth. The mother is the resource of all the activities in human life. We can get all the energy from the fully understanding of the natural order and rules. The friendlier we treat the earth, the better life we can get. In O Pionsers! and My Ántonia, I can analyse the facts that two main characters in both works perform their lives keeping the rules and orders of the nature. If they ignored the natural order and the rules, they usually had hard time and difficulties in their lives. We can recognize that Alexandra in O Pioneers1, and Antonia in My Antonia lived very difficult lives but their effort for the earning their livings was very hard and desperate. In case of their forgetting the nature and the earth for the time being or staying away from the country, their lives with their family were even worse than ever. If they kept the natural law and energetic powerful will came from the earth in their minds, their lives would be changed. In that point, we can understand the relationships between human beings and the earth. Also we perceived how the earth in our life, effects us.

The life of Heart Crane was very hard and tortured from his early life. Despite the difficulities of his life he read widely and developed a large circle of intellectual friends and correspondents. Between 1923 and 1927 he wrote the most and best of his poetry. He published his first colliction, White Buildings, in 1926, and the second one, The Bridge, in the same year. His aim, in his poems, was nothing less than to master the techniques of modernism as well as to reverse its direction-to make it positive, celebratory, and deeply meshed with modem American life-without sacrificing technical complexity or richness. At the core of Crane's poetic practice was the use of metaphor, the building of connections between metaphors, and the slow exporing of the associations that clustered around them. The themes of "My Grandmother's Love Letters" are worries and laments. But his hardness and torment of life changed into peace later. We can learn his goneral theme in "Passage." While "My Grandmother's Love Letters" expressed worries and troubles through the creative instability, "Passage" tried to describe the overcoming of a lamentable life and the artist's creative diffculties. Further that "My Grandmather's Love Letters" described a personal world and "Passage" expressed the etemity of man's relationship with the sea.

Four Quartets에 나타난 시간

Eliot wrote "Four Quartets" in his last days. This poem is one of his most outstanding expressions of his concept of time. In this work, Eliot makes a special effect to harmonize religion and philosophy with poetry. So each time we read "Four Quartets", we feel a heavy heart and note different expressions of time and thought and sensibility which cannot be easily found in other poems. The ruins of the modern world tend to destroy man's spiritual world. In "Four Quartets," Eliot explored religious moods, dealing with the relation between time and eternity of time. We can find Eliot's matured view of time and his effort to apprehend eternity in a moment in this work. Eliot suggested that the possibilities of ultimate salvation be within our ordinary temporal experiences. In other words, Eliot tried to seek the eternal in the temporal, the timeless on the religious level. At the same time, Eliot introduced the concept of "the still point," which expresses the main idea of this poem. The world of flux is characterized by the cycle of life and death, and Eliot thought the flux is derived from and sustained by the more ultimate reality of the eternal. Eliot recreated the concept of eternity through "the still point". Symbols throughout in Eliot's poetry are deeply related to "the still point". In Eliot's poetry, it seems that The World of Becoming stands for the concept of "the turning world" and The world of Being that of "the still point". In the uniting of time and timelessness, Eliot sees it from the paradoxical Christian view of the Incarnation. The Incarnation is identified with "the still point of the turning world" in Eliot's Four Quartets. "The still point" is the symbol of the Logos. In conclusion, Eliot tried to ways of spiritual salvation for human beings. This can be manifested by the idea that timeless God enters time and gives significance, the idea behind Four Quartets.

『방황하는 부인』에 나타난 에코페미니즘의 거부와 파멸 : A Lost Lady

The works of willa Cather have been studied from many points of view by critics and researchers. Cather's descriptions of the land and of the Great Plains are especially well-known to researchers and her readers. Most, of course, never fail to acknowledge Cather's vivid portrayal of the frontier and pioneer spirit in her masterpieces O Pioneers! and My A´ntonia. The stories and characters she wrote about were fundamentally connected with natural factors and matters. Nowadays, there is a highly significant tendency in our daily lives: ecology is applied to every place and every moment in order to provide better environments for human lives and human beings. Thus in this thesis, I examine Cather's novels from a specified point of view, ecofeminism. I try to show the bad effects from the betrayals of ecofeminism principles in A Lost Lady. I discuss how Cather treats characters who go against ecofeminist principles. I present this notion with examples from A Lost Lady. Captain Forrester in A Lost Lady lived tragic lives. The lives of Forrester underwent rapid changes. When he of his wife pursued money, their lives lost value. The pursuits for gold and moral corruptions of his wife accelerated the degradation of captain Forrester. Money, the idol of the modern world, changed their lives. The ultimate significance of this thesis is to point out that Cather's writings give us a chance to find ourselves, to think about the way we conduct our lives in relation to others and to the natural world. All of us must find ways to enhance our lives in harmony with the natural environment in which we live. We can then positively alter the course of human history.
