In response to the Green Growth, interest of the traction motor is increasing. As Traction Motosr Require wide operation range and high torque density, IPMSMs are suitable for traction applications. In this paper, performance comparison between concentric and distribute winding, with same constraint and requirement.

Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) produces two kind of torque that Magnetic and Reluctance torque. The permanent magnet linkage flux Ψ<SUB>a</SUB> and d-axis and q-axis inductances have an important influence on the torque characteristic of IPMSM. Thus their accurate prediction is essential for predicting performance aspect such as the torque and flux-weakening capabilities. In this paper, L<SUB>d</SUB>, L<SUB>q</SUB> is calculated by LC resonance method with FEM. The results are validated by comparison the L<SUB>d</SUB>, L<SUB>q</SUB> calculated by another method.

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motors(IPMSMs) produce not only the magnetic torque, but also the reluctance torque, which is due to the difference between the d-axis and q-axis inductance, by geometrical rotor structure. Therefore, using flux-weakening control, IPMSMs can be driven at higher speed than surface mount permanent magnet synchronous motors(SPMSMs). As Traction Motors Require wide operation range and high torque density, IPMSMs are suitable for traction applications. In this paper, efficiency and characteristics are compared with concentric and distribute winding.

In this paper, the influence of barrier width on the ψa and Ld, Lq is calculated by FEM analysis. Predictions are validated by comparison the average torques, using Maxwell Stress Tensor method.

영구자석 모터를 구동하는 방법에는 크게 DC (Direct Current) 구동과 AC (Alternating Current) 구동으로 나눌 수 있는데 본 논문에서는 DC 구동과 AC 구동에 따라 IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) 모터의 설계 방법을 연구하고 설계의 차이점을 분석하였고 또한 유한요소법 해석을 통해 특성을 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 DC 구동 IPM의 약계자 제어에 관해 연구하고 설계된 모터를 제작하여 이를 실제 제어에 적용하여 검증하였다. Drive method of permanent magnet motor can be largely divided into two types. One is DC (Direct Current) drive and the other is AC (Alternating Current) drive. This paper deals with study on design of IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) considering drive methods, and analysis differences of design and characteristics using finite element method. Besides, this paper proposes field weakening control method for DC drive IPM and verifies this method through experimental results.
