The strain calibration of PVDF(polyvinylidene fluoride) sensor was performed by Al beam test. The PVDF sensor and the electrical strain gage were bonded on the beam. When the beam was loaded, the output of electrical strain gage was compared with the output of the PVDF sensor. In the case of that the charge amplifier was no used in the experiment, the waveform of PVDF sensor output was shown as the differential waveform of the output of the electrical strain gage. In another case, that was applied by the charge amplifier, the waveform of PVDF sensor output was shown as the same form of the output of electrical strain gage. The maximum amplitude of PVDF sensor output was only slightly different with the maximum amplitude of electrical strain gage output in the case of using the charge amplifier. Therefore, the gain was selected as 1.7 by comparing these two signals to determine the exact value of the strain.

PVDF film sensor was applied to measure the stress concentration for monitoring the structur The strain calibration of this film sensor was performed by aluminum beam test. The PVDF se the electrical strain gage were bonded on the beam. When the beam was loaded, the output of strain gage was compared with the output of the PVDF sensor. The waveform of PVDF sensor outpu shown as the same form of the output of electrical strain gage. The gain was determined comparing these two signals to determine the exact value of the strain. The tensile test of specimens was conducted to develop the measurement technique of stress concentration. The outp ratio between the PVDF sensor near the notch and the PVDF sensor far from the notch could g information about the load bearing capacity of steel specimen.

The purpose of this study was to detect Mycobacterium bovis in cattle(serum, milk, lung, lymph node) by PCR. Nineteen samples from 7 skin test-positive cattle were analyzed. The amplified band of IS6110 by PCR was detected from 2 samples in lung and lymph node. But the sensitivities of the present methods for detecting M bovis in milk and serum are deficient. Because the PCR sensitivity has been shown to he hindered by the method used to isolate the nucleic acid target. PCR-based methods have the potential to be faster, more accurate, and the most efficient means of detecting M bovis. The detection of M bovis by PCR will contribute to the more efficient detection and control of tuberculosis.
