The purpose of this study is to estimate the economic impacts of cruise tourism for four major ports(Incheon, Busan, Jeju, and Jeonnam) of call in 2013 using a regional input-output(I-O) model. To this end tourism multipliers were estimated from four ports of call using the regional I-O model in terms of input, income, value added, indirect tax. and employment. The results of this study show that per capita expenditure of cruise tourist was 924,788 Won for Incheon, 823,500 Won for Jeonnam, 784,864 Won for Jeju, and 741,125 Won for Busan. The results of the regional I-O model indicate that 555 billion Won of cruise tourism in 2013 generated approximately 910 billion Won of output impact, 218 billion Won of income impact, 567 billion Won of value-added impact, 22 billion Won of net indirect tax impact, and 21,909 jobs. In terms of port of call, Jeju generated the largest economic impact followed by Busan, Incheon, and Jeonnam. In terms of tourism sector, shopping produced the largest economic impact among other tourism sectors for each port of call. The results of the economic impact study will contribute to supporting the economic validity of development for cruise tourism by central and local governments.

The purpose of this study is three fold: (1) to explore the image of visitors attending `the 2001 Korean Drink and Cake Festival`; (2) to examine any significant relationships between factors of image and demographic variables; and (3) to investigate any significant effects of image factors on visitors` satisfaction, willingness to revisit and recommend. The results show that four dimensions of image were derived from twenty-two image attributes, using a factor analysis. A correspondence analysis indicates that statistically significant relationships existed between some of image factors with respect to the demographic variables of age, education, income, and job. A regression analyses also indicate that most of image factors had great impacts on visitors` satisfaction, willingness to revisit and recommend. The findings of this study will provide festival managers with useful implications in planning the effective event programs.

This paper aims to estimate the economic impact of the 2007 Punggi Ginseng festival, using a regional input-output (I-O) model. To this end, a regional I-O model of Gyeongbuk province was developed from a national I-O transactions tables based on a location quotient (LQ) method. Once the regional I-O was completed, regional tourism multipllers of Gyeongbuk, province were derived in terms of output, income, employment, and value-added. Furthermore, an onsite survey was conducted to festival visitors in oder to estimate per capita expenditures. The results of regional I-O model indicate that the hosting of the Punggi Ginseng festival generated 133,810 million Won of output impact, 18,862 million Won of income impact, 60,355, million Won of value-added Impact, and 1,769 full-time jobs throughout direct and indirect effects.
