        수군 녹조류 (數群 綠藻類) 의 유리 아미노산 분포에 따른 계통학적 연구 조류의 화학성분과 계통학적 상관성에 대하여 (3)

        LEE, Min-Jai, HONG, Soon-Woo & LEE, In-Kyu, (Dept. of Botany, Seoul National Univ.) An analytical studies of free amino acid and its relationship among the main groups of green algae (Ⅲ). Kor. Jour. Bot. V (3) : 25-29, 1962. Succeeding the previous papers, nineteen species of marine green algae and three species of fresh water green algae are analyzed to the free amino acid patterns by paper chromatogram, and it has been described as containing significant qualities of the pattern in relation to phylogenetic studies. Those seem to have a tendency of recognizable pattern on inter-Orders and inter-Phyla of marine algae. And the patterns of fresh water and marine green algae are also carried out referring to these studies.

        Axotobacter 의 증식률에 미치는 자외선 및 nucleic acid derivatives 의 영향

        LEE, Min Jai and LEE Young Nock (Seoul National U. Seoul Korea)-Effects of ultraviolet light and nucleic acid derivatives on the reproductive rate of Azotobacter Kor Jour. Bot., 3(2): 1-5. Illus. 1960 Azotobacter is isolated from soil and its purified species is identified as A. chroococcum. The survival rate of Azotobacter irradiated with UV light is measured, and the reproductive rates of the survivals are calculated. In general, not only the survival rate, but also the length of the generation time of the survival progeny is inversely proportional to the irradiated dose of UV light. The reproductive rate of Azotobacter is increased with the exogeneous treatment of nucleic acid derivatives.

        Saccharomyces cerevisiae 의 물질대사에 미치는 중성자의 영향

        Lee, Min Jai (Dept. of Botany, Seoul National Univ.) and Kwon, Oh Yong (Andong Teacher`s College) Effects of neutron radiation on the metabolism of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Kor. Jour. Bot. Ⅶ(4) : 9-14. 1964. According to the results measured the respiratory quotient of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with neutron radiation by manometric direct method, the respiratory quotient of them was stimulated at the dose (7×10 exp (6) N/㎠/sec) of neutron radiation for 60 seconds, and was inhibited in each group irraaiated at the high dose (7×10 exp (3)N/㎠/sec) of neutron. Its physioiogical effects influenced on neutron had relations with respiratory quotient, reproductive rate and fermentation in the curve of normal logarithmic phase. The multiple reartions which appeared in yeast, indicated that a great deal of physiological function were closely correlated with the irradiated dosage of neutron. The kinds of free amino acid in yeast irradiated with neutron were different from those of unirradiated yeast. The activity of dehydrogenase system accelerated the metabolic function of yeast irradiated at some low dose of neutron. By this results, it may demonstrate that the fact which the phenomena obtained in the stimulation of neutron possess its character for several generation, is dependent on the theory of mutation. Subsequently, it seemed reasonable certain dominant type of microorganisms.

        「 유 - 그레나 」 의 명암배양에 따르는 유기질의 이용과 호흡 및 생장에 관하여

        1) The comparative studies of the quantitative measurement of growth characteristics and utilization of substrates by Euglena gracilis var. bacilla 10616 in the light and in darkness have been carried out. Endogenous respiration, effect of respiratory inhibitors and responses to the added substrates for the exogenous respiration are also investigated. 2) All cultures are grown in the open air under the continuous illumination of fluorescent light of 3500 lux at room temperature, the growth rate of the culture in the basal medium added 0.5% lactate is found to be the highest. The growth rate decreases successively for the cultures of 0.5% sucinate, 0.5% Na-acetate, 0.5% malate, and control. There is no growth in the basal medium added 0.5% butyrate and 0.5% hydroquinone. The similar results are obtained for the mentioned cultures in the darkness. However, the growth rate in basal medium added 0.5% g1ucose and 0.5% sucrose does seem to increase in the darkness unlike the illumination. 3) The endogenous rate of respiration for the organism cuitured photosynthetically is about 12.94u1 02/mg/hr, in basal medium and the respiratory quotient is about 0.84. The rate is decreased by starvations to 6.5ul 02/㎎/hr, about to a half, but the respiratory quotient does net change. 4) The oxygen consumption during initial 2 hours in suspending solution ranging from pH 4.5 to pH 9.3 is highest at pH 4.5 in which the algae had grown, at pH 5.5 and at pH 6.9. 5) Endogenous respiration of the cells is strongiy inhibited by 0.1 M of potassium cyanide, malomic acid, sodium fluoride and iodo-acetic acid. It is also strongly inhibited by 0.01 M of potassium cyanide. 6) The respiratory response to added substrates for the exogenous respiration in the organism is coincided with the rate in the basal medium added the substrate in 1ight and in darkness, whether the cells are fed or starved. 7) According to the results of this study, there seems to be the flexibility of the interconversion between photosynthesis and chemosynthesis, heterotropic mode of metabolism, in Euglena gracilis var. bacillaris, and that this organism utilizes the lactate most. It also may be suggested that the enzyme systems linked in the each steps of Embden-Myerhof -Parnas path way and TCA cycle seem to exist in this organism.

        Saccharomyces cereisiase 의 동저항변이에 (銅低抗變異) 미치는 DNA 의 영향에 관한 연구

        1. Study was made to investigate effects of desoxyribonucleates on copper-resistance in yeast. 2. It is found that the resistant to copper is a type of mutant, which is under-grown than the sensitive in multiplication in non-copper-media. 3. In the occurrence of the resistant strain there exists the phenemic lag. 4. Desoxyribonucleate isolated from copper resistant culture is capable of inducing the resistant strain, which is the same type as donor of the resistant type. It accelerated the rate of variation to the resistant, but it is of no effect on the resistant strain. 5. Desoxyribonucleate derived from non-resistant type inhibits growth of the resistant strain ana delays the initial phase of growth. However, it is of no effect on the sensitive strain. It is conduded that desoxyribonucleate derivea from resistant culture is capable of inducing the resistance, however, nonresistant type desoryribonucleate is of no effect on inducing the resistance.

        대두발아종자에 있어서 아미노산에의 유황결합에 (硫黃結合) 관하여

        Wir wollten beobachten, ob die Chlorophyllabnahme von Chlorella luteoviridis (211/2b) bei Glukose-Zugabe durch Stickstoffmangel hervorgerufen worden ist, wie viele Leute bei Mineralsalzmangel (Aach (1952, Fogg 1956 Eyster et at (1958), oder Photooxydationschlorose (Kandler 1958) vermuteten. Chlorella luteoviridis bildete nicht ChlorophyⅡ bei Glukosezugabe wie bei Autotrophkultur, obwohl Stickstoffsynthese als Autotrophkultur stark gefo‥rdert worden ist. Bei Nitratanzucht mit Glukose (Mixotroph) waren die Zellvermehrung und Kohlenhydratbildung nicht so stark wie bei der Glukoseanzucht mit NH^4Cl, trotzdem nahm Chlorophyll ab. Chlorella luteoviridis bildete ChlorophyⅡ im Dunkeln und Sta‥rkeakkumulation erschien nicht bei Clukoseanzucht.

        신춘문예 동시의 문학 교육적 의미

        Using literary and educational points of view, this study examined the prizewinning poems for children in the Annual Literary Contest sponsored by the Dongah-ilbo and the Chosun-ilbo between the 1970s and 2001. The average age of both male and female writers increased over time, 82% were college graduates, and 54% were educators. All of the poems referred to nature in some ways, either as the major theme(42%) or in passing reference to some aspect of nature(58%). Onomato-poetic words were used in 71% of the poems; similes and metaphors were expressed in 13% and 51%, respectively; 58% were written from a mediator`s point of view; 59% were in the present tense; 78% of the space elements were fixed; and 98% were written in free verse. In conclusion, the poems for children of the Annual Literary Contest should be used in literary education with guidelines for the appreciation, creation, and criticism of poems for children.

      • Inula Sesquiterpene Lactone이 식물호흡에 미치는 영향

        Alantolactone의 생물학적 작용기작을 구명하려는 목적에서 먼저 식물의 호흡과 생장에 마치는 영향을 조사하였다. Chlorella pyrenoidosa의 생장은 Inula lactone (alantolactone과 isolalantolactone)에 의하여 크게 억제되었으나, 반대로 호흡은 촉진되어서 산소소비량과 [$U-^{14}C$] glucose로부터의 $^{14}CO_2$ 생성이 모두 증가하였다. 감자에서 Inula lactone은 aged-slice의 호흡은 촉진시켰으나 생절편에 대하여는 별 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 한편 Inula lactone은 aging 과정에서 일어나는 전편의 호흡활성화를 억제할 수 있었으나 Inula lactone을 제거하연 철편의 호흡은 급격하게 증가되었다. In order to investigate the mode of biological action of alantolactone, its effects on the respiration and the growth of plants were examined. The rate of respiration of Chlorella pyrenoidosa was greatly enhanced in the presence of Inula sesquiterpene lactones (alantolactone+isoalantolactone), but the growth of cells was profoundly inhibited. Although Inula sesquiterpene lactones increased the oxygen consumption of the aged potato tuber slices, no effect was observed in the case of the fresh slices. And Inula sesquiterpene lactones also inhibited the activation of the respiration of the slices during the aging process.
