To evaluate the consequences of possible fisheries regulations of anchovy Engraulis japonicus in the Korea Strait, we developed and applied a simulation-based yield-per-recruit (Y/R) model that considered temperature-dependent growth and size-dependent mortality, covering the egg to adult stages. We projected changes in commercial yield and egg production of anchovy with respect to varying biological reference points of 1) the instantaneous fishing mortality, 2) the minimum fork length of anchovy allowed to catch for protecting smaller anchovy ($L_{c,min}$), and 3) the maximum fork length allowed to catch for protecting bigger anchovy ($L_{c,max}$). Our Y/R model showed that the anchovy yield will be maximized at ca. $1.4{\times}10^6tons$ when $L_{c,min}$ ranges between 42-60 mm or at ca. $0.8{\times}10^6tons$ when $L_{c,max}$ ranges from 88-160 mm. At $L_{c,min}=30mm$, the present minimum length of catch, our simulations indicated that the anchovy yield can reach a maximum of $1.2{\times}10^6tons$ in the long-term when the present fishing effort, which annually yields ca. $0.2{\times}10^6tons$ of anchovy, can be increased by a factor of 28. We expect that our simulation-based Y/R model can be applied to other commercially-important small pelagic species in which the traditional Beverton-Holt Y/R model is difficult to apply.
모의실험을 통한 한국 연근해 고등어(Scomber japonicus)의 가입당 생산 분석

Chub mackerel Scomber japonicus is an economically important pelagic species in the western North Pacific. In the last 50 years, the annual total catch in Korean waters showed large fluctuations, ranging from 100 to 420×10<sup>3</sup> tons. To provide a biological reference point for management of chub mackerel, we applied a simulation-based yield-per-recruit (Y/R) model that considered both temperature-dependent growth and size-dependent mortality. We estimated the fisheries yield with respect to varying biological reference points and environmental conditions, including 1) the instantaneous rate of fishing mortality (F), 2) length of fish at first capture (L<sub>c</sub>), and 3) water temperature. The result of our analysis showed that the Y/R could be greatest when the L<sub>c</sub> ranges from 19-27 cm and F ranges from 1.48-2.00 yr<sup>-1</sup>. Y/R increases with increased water temperature between 15 and 23℃. We suggest targeting an L<sub>c</sub> of 17 cm (age=0.6 years) under the assumed current of F=0.48 yr<sup>-1</sup> for maximizing the chub mackerel harvest. Further analysis considering spawning and recruitment processes are required to provide biological reference points to ensure the sustainability of chub mackerel fisheries in Korean waters.
통행목적별 자전거 통행수단 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 -서울시를 대상으로

본 연구는 서울시를 대상으로 가구통행실태조사 자료를 이용하여 통행목적별 자전거 통행행태를 분석하고 그 영향요인을 규명하는데 목적이 있으며, 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서울시 행정동별 자전거 통행비율을 분석한 결과 지역별로 약 14.2%의 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 나이, 성별, 소득, 직업, 주거유형 등 다양한 개인특성변수들이 통행목적별 자전거 통행수단 선택에 영향을 미치며, 통행 장소와 관련하여 공통적으로 주거지와 같은 행정동 내 시설을 이용할 경우 자전거 통행이 늘어나는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 근린환경특성을 나타내는 변수들 중에서 근린의 토지이용혼합도가 높고 범죄발생률이 낮을수록 통근 및 통학 목적의 자전거 통행이 늘어나는 것으로 나타나 주거, 업무, 상업시설의 용도 혼합과 함께 지역의 범죄안전성을 높이는 것이 통근 및 통학 목적의 자전거 이용을 활성화하는데 중요한 역할을 한다고 생각된다. 또한 자전거 도로밀도와 지역의 경사도는 공통적으로 통근 및 통학, 쇼핑, 운동 및 여가 목적의 자전거 통행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 자전거 통행을 활성화하기 위해서는 자전거도로 공급을 통해 자전거도로의 접근성을 높이고 지역의 경사도 등을 고려하여 자전거 기반시설의 입지를 결정할 필요가 있다. This study analyzed the bicycle traffic patterns and identified the influence factors for each traffic purpose using the household traffic conditions survey for Seoul. The results are summarized as follows. First, as a result of surveying the bicycle traffic ratios according to the administrative dongs, there was a difference of 14.2% by region. Second, various personal characteristic variables, such as age, gender, income, occupation, and housing type, affect the bicycle mode choice, and bicycle passage increases when using facilities in residential areas. Third, among the neighborhood environments, the bicycle traffic for commuting purposes appeared to increase more in the areas of higher land use mix and lower crime rates. In addition, the bicycle road density and the inclination of the area commonly affect bicycle travel for commuting, shopping, exercising, and leisure.

We investigated regional differences in the growth and maturation rate of Pacific cod in the East and Yellow Seas. Significant regional differences were detected in the von Bertalanffy growth equation and mean length at maturity (L50). Cod in the East Sea grew at a faster rate than those in the Yellow Sea, with females growing faster than males in both populations. Cod of both sexes matured earlier in the Yellow Sea (age of maturity: 2.3 years for males, 2.6 years for females) than in the East Sea (age of maturity: 3.9 years for males, 4 years for females). These regional differences suggest that Pacific cod in the Yellow Sea, which is at the southwestern extremity of global cod distribution and thus likely to be an inhospitable habitat for this species, have adapted to their environment by developing earlier maturation and slower growth than cod in the East Sea or the Korea Strait. These regional differences must be taken into account when setting biological reference points for management of the Pacific cod fishery in Korean waters.

The economy is changing rapidly and is becoming more and more service-oriented. For this reason, It is essential to study and acquire comprehensive knowledge on the service industry in order to position oneself in higher place in competition and to have further development. This study will propose strategic guidance for a service firms by investigating and examining the growth stages and development of service products. A successful service firms achieves customer satisfaction, which its competitors cannot accomplish, by constant effort to improve and update its products and operation system. Also, it quickly and accurately finds out what the customer wants and needs, and applies that knowledge into its strategy. The customer's need must trigger the development of new service products. The new service product must have the characteristic that is unique, special and professionals. It has to be specialized and itemized, and put into the market that is thoroughly researched. Also, it must have the impression that can be easily remembered. In order for a service firms to secure the superiority in competition and move on to accomplish the world-class service quality, it needs to examine itself to find out if it has the capability to develop the service product that is appropriate for its growth stage. Plus, predicting the future market, making a right strategic choice and preparing the proper products and operation system for growth and improvement are very significant.
