The purpose of this article is to find a methodology of Christian bioethics. It is very important to give concrete solutions to emergent problems of contemporary bioethics. However, it is also necessary to have a proper method of bioethics, for the method itself has its own worldview. This article explains the deductive and the inductive method, their weakpoints. The dedeuctive method is a good tool for us to suggest general moral principles. It cannot, however, resolve the conflict between moral principles and moral sense which lies in the concrete moral judgements or the one between various moral principles. The inductive method is very helpful to the medical personnels who should find an answer of the concrete problems in medical practices. But it has to require a moral principle to decide which case should be a paradigm case. I introduce the method of reflective equilibrium which John Rawls uses to avoid the difficulties of both methods. From the perspective of the background theory in the method of reflective equilibrium I suggest that Christian worldview plays a crucial role in bioethical debates. I think that the Holy Scripture can have a important role in bioethics. Furthermore, I suggest that it is very difficult to translate Biblical languages into general moral languages and that this translation should be made in order that Christian ethics be able to has influences on public policy-making. The method of reflective method shows that Christian worldview is no obstacle, but very helpful to public policy-making concerning bioethical issues. Christian ethics has wider dimensions than the contemporary bioethics, for it deals not only with life as organism but also with life in existential sense. Finally, I suggest that Christian bioethics should have not only theoretical consistency and accuracy but also persuasive power in practice.

The purpose of this paper is to study meaning of communitarianism in Korean context in relation to Confucianism. For this purpose, liberal-communitairan debate was explained in the context of Korean Confucianism. And the idea of Christian community was compared with Korean concept of community spirit. The Christian community opens the possibility of the community in which equality and justice are respected. In this meaning, neo-liberalism in Korea must be under criticism. Meanwhile, Korean collective egoism must be overcome. The meaning and idea of sound community is derived from biblical community. 이 글은 현대윤리학의 주요 논제 가운데 하나인 자유주의와 공동체주의 논쟁에 비추어 한국사회의 윤리적 정황을 분석하고 유교윤리와의 연관성을 검토하는 것을 주제로 삼았다. 특히 신자유주의와 관련된 한국사회내의 쟁점들을 분석하고 기독교사회윤리학적 방향제시에 그 목표를 두었다. 이를 위해 신자유주의의 모태인 자유주의의 기본전제들을 비판하는 동시에 공동체주의의 가능성과 한계에 대해 고찰하였다. 논의의 전체적인 균형을 유지하기 위하여 자유주의와 공동체주의 각각의 반론들을 검토하였으며, 나아가 한국사회에서 유교윤리와 어떤 연관을 지니고 있는지의 문제를 특히 공동체주의와 연관지어 고찰하였다. 또한 한국사회가 올바른 방향으로 발전하기 위해서는 가족이기주의나 집단이기주의를 넘어서는 진정한 의미의 공동체정신이 필요하다는 점을 강조하였다.
