초미립 clay를 이용한 자동차부품용 TPE 소재의 난연특성에 관한 연구

In this study, the properties of TPE (Thermo Plastic Elastomer) nanocomposite with clay have been compared with clay content in terms of thermal, flame retardant and mechanical properties. 2M2HT (d??₁= 31.5 A) and MT2EtOH (d??₁= 18.5Å) were used additive. We compared the properties according to the content of the clay in PP/EPDM matrix. FT-IR, XRD showed that the 2M2HT was dispersed homogeneously into the PP/EPDM matrix as nano-scale. In general thermal and mechanical properties of nanocomposite are not influenced by added clay. However. in case of the property of flame retardants had showed superior as d-spacing value in clay is higher.
바이오매스 합성가스를 이용한 혼소식 디젤엔진 발전기의 적용성 평가

Biomass gasification produces syngas or producer gas as low calorific fuel gas that can be used as a fuel for combustion or prime movers as well as chemical synthesis. Internal combustion engines are readily available with lower costs and easily used for producing distributed power using biomass syngas. In this study, a dual fuel diesel engine was used to evaluate its performance when biomass syngas is used for fuel. The engine was originally developed for biogas application with a diesel engine with a 2,607 cc displacement. Both diesel fuel and syngas consumptions were observed at the different load conditions. The results indicate that the dual fuel engine showed a reasonably good performance and up to 63 % of diesel fuel saving.

In South Korea, 25 % of annual agricultural residues (11.64 million tons) are unused. The hydrophilicity, low lower heating value (LHV), and low energy density of agricultural residues can be obstacles for efficient usage. Torrefaction, a low temperature pyrolysis process, can be a solution to overcome these disadvantage of agricultural residues. In this study, agricultural residues such as bean stem, pepper stem, perilla stem, sorghum stem, acorn shell, and ginkgo shell are torrefied at 200, 230, and $250^{\circ}C$ and evaluated energy properties, respectively. The torrefaction can increase the LHV and energy density rate of agricultural residues from 3,331~4,444 kcal/kg to 4,166~5,830 kcal/kg and 20~30 %, respectively.

We investigated the cytogenetic characteristics of male black-striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarium) in Korea. Chromosome slides were obtained from blood cell cultures which were synchronized with thymidine blocking or not. In the chromosome slide which synchronization with thymidine blocking was employed on, the GTG(G bands by trypsin using Giemsa)-bands of high resolution were observed. The male black-striped field mouse has 48 chromosomes composed 46 autosomes and XY sex chromosomes. The centromeric regions of autosomes were positive to GTG-banding. According to this investigation, thymidine blocking in cell culture process was useful to get lengthened chromosomes. It may be necessary to employ RBG-banding technique to investigate complementary band patterns between R- and G-banding in black-striped field mouse.

This study was conducted to observe the bone and cartilage formation of mouse fetuses. Mouse litters were sacrificed at pregnant 14th and 18th day and examined for gross skeletal formation using cartilage and bone staining. We identified well developed cartilage formation at the 14th pregnant day in mouse fetus. However mouse fetus at the 14th pregnant day did not show any part of bone formation. At 18th pregnant day, mouse fetus showed well developed body shape and bone and cartilage formation. This results will provide basic information for the evaluation of mouse malfromation and impairment of skeleton formation. Further study will be needed for exact explanation of bone formation from cartilage portion.

We investigated the cytogenetic characteristics of Korean native goat(Capra hircus). Chromosome slides were prepared from peripheral blood cell cultures. GTG, GBG, RBG and CBG-banding techniques were employed on those slides. The high resolution karyotype of Korean native goat could be made with the incorporation of BrdU. Korean native goat has 60 chromosomes composed of 58 autosomes and XY or XX sex chromosomes. All of autosomes of Korean native goat were acrocentric chromosomes. X chromosome was submetacentric and Y chromosome was metacentric. The GTG, GBG and RBG-band patterns of Korean native goat were similar to those of other goats. CBG-band regions were distinct at the proximal portion of the long arms of all autosomes in Korean native goats. According to our investigation, there was no significant difference in chromosomal band patterns between Korean native goat and other goats. It might be necessary to use molecular genetic markers for clarifying the genetical characteristics of Korean native goat whose biological characteristics are not clearly defined.
