In this study, we present the framework of a virtual sensing system for a vibro-acoustic structure. The system can estimate the time-transient responses at the unmeasured points of a vibro-acoustic structure, including displacements, pressures, and applied forces. A coupled vibro-acoustic finite element (FE) model is then used as a numerical model of the target structure, and the model is updated using the sensitivity-based FE model updating technique for vibro-acoustic systems. A multiphysics reduced-order modeling approach is then applied to the model to alleviate the computational burden of real-time computation. Based on the pre-processed FE model, a time integration technique is implemented to estimate the unmeasured responses of the target structure. The performance of the suggested virtual sensing system is finally evaluated by implementation on an L-shaped pipe structure.

This study presents a method for visualizing real-time digital twin models using augmented reality. The proposed system compresses the physical data calculated by finite element (FE) model, such as displacement and stress, with the reduced order modeling technique. A server solves the FE equation in real-time and transmits physical data in a compressed form. Then, a mobile device receives the data and restores to its original form through the pre-saved transformation matrix. As a result, it overcomes limitations of communication and hardware performance in the computational points of view, and achieves real-time visualization in augmented reality environment.

This paper presents a model-based virtual thermal sensor to estimate the temperature and the heat source of MOSFET operating in enclosed spaces. It can estimate the temperature without the aid of the sensor installed inside. Direct thermal measurement is a difficult matter because the sensor cannot be attached to the required location due to various operating environments or geometric problems. Therefore, inverse heat conduction problems with very limited sensing information have been widely studied. The inverse heat conduction is categorized in an ill-posed problem, which implies that the estimation is extremely sensitive to measurement errors. To address this problem, we use a Tikhonov regularization method for stability. The developed virtual sensor successfully estimates the temperature and the heat source of MOSFET.
