인터넷 가상도서관에서의 전자책 활용에 관한 연구

Electronic books offer various possibilities for expanding access as well as changing reading behavior in our life. However despite the considerable promise of e-book, e-book market was not vitalized than re expected. This study investigated the current e-book environment and suggest some guidelines for making e-books a viable part of libraries' collections and our reading life. Findings and issues about the status of the current e-book market and technologies, and some experience of libraries in the advanced countries give us a lesson for the Korean library societies. 전자책이 우리 주변에서 점차 소개되면서 읽기 습관에도 영향을 끼치고 있다. 전자책의 내용은 시간과 공간을 초월하여 개인용 컴퓨터나 전자책 가독기를 통하여 언제나 접근할 수 있는 가능성을 제공하는 것 등 긍정적인 면이 있다. 이와 같은 상당한 기대와 관심에도 불구하고 전자책 등장 당시 우리가 기대한 것만큼은 활성화되기 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 어떠한 비즈니스 모델이나 하드웨어, 소프트웨어 표준이 전자책 시장을 활성화하고 도서관 서비스를 충족시킬 수 있을 것인가에 대하여, 전자책 시장을 둘러싼 현재의 환경을 조사하고, 이를 바탕으로 전자책이 좀 더 활용될 수 있는 가이드라인을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 선진국에서의 전자책 시장과 기술 그리고 도서관에서의 경험적 사례와 논점 등은 우리나라 도서관계와 출판계에 귀중한 교훈을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

영어도서관 마케팅과 도서관 주도 독서프로그램 도입에 관한 연구

The ideas of user oriented service wasn't a major issue in libraries in the past decade. However, from now on, our library visitors have choices in the book selection processes, and the library may not be the first choice for their information demands. Competitors such as museum, culture center, and even private reading academy are those who anticipate user demands and satisfy them before the librarians do. What may have been perceived as excellent service a few years ago is not acceptable today anymore in the library. This study reveals current situation of English library collection and their practice as a sound English learning tool for Korean students. The researcher introduces library Marketing Concept and Reading Programs as an effective management tool. 한국사회와 도서관계에 변화의 가속화가 요구되는 현 시점에서는 도서관경영을 보다 현실적 상황을 고려하여 운영하는 전략을 수립할 필요성이 있으며, 특성화사업을 통해 새로운 마케팅 기법을 적극적으로 도입할 필요가 있다. 수요를 창출하는 경영기법을 ‘마케팅’이라고 한다면 앞으로 수요가 확산될 서비스나 프로그램 중 하나가 영어독서와 영어도서관 설치에 대한 관심사라 할 수 있다. 이러한 현상을 최근 신문기사를 통해 개인, 기관 및 사교육기관 별로 정리 분석하였다. 분석결과 제시된 독서방식을 국내 도서관의 활성화 방안 중 하나로 적용하기 위하여 전통적인 자율독서프로그램을 국내 상황에 맞게 새롭게 분석, 전개하였다.

북미 대학의 한국학 장서 평가에 관한 연구: A 대학을 중심으로

This paper evaluated the collection development of the Korean collection at the A university over the several decade. Compared against the ACRL standard Formula A, the result demonstrated that the Korean library collection is still needed to increase Korean collection to support Korean-related program and Korean community in the area. When we share western language materials in the library as the same area studies resources, we can evaluate Korean studies collection as Level B. Comparison with similar institutions (ARL comparisons) shows that the collection is the middle among 15 universities which provide Korean programs. The situation for Korean resources at the A university is needed to get more support from Korean institutes and Korean societies to keep up with the Korean collection for academics and regional community users as well. 본 논문은 북미 대학에서 한국학 장서 구축의 역사가 오래된 대학을 대상으로 그동안 구축된 한국학 장서의 현황 규모에 대한 적정성을 현장을 중심으로 객관적으로 조사 분석한 것이다. 장서와 이용자 그룹에 근거하여 ACRL 표준공식을 적용하여 분석하였고, ARL 중앙값을 산출하여 비교하였다. ACRL 기준에 따른 평가결과, 이 대학의 한국학 장서는 B 등급으로 평가되었고, ARL 비교치 결과에서도 비교 대상교 15개 중에서 중간정도에 그치는 것으로 나타나서, 한국학 장서의 꾸준한 증가를 통해 한국학 교육과정 지원을 보다 충실히 해야 한다는 결론을 도출하게 되었다.

DDC를 이용한 DOI 구성체계에 관한 연구

The DO1 is an opaque string or dumb number - nothing at all can inferred from the number. However some identifies can include some intelligence in the number itself, which will tell the user subject and meaningful information about the entity that is being identified. Therefore whether the DO1 suffix should be 'dumb' or 'meaningful' is a major issue in DO1 syntax structuring. Although the choice of DO1 Suffix is entirely optional, many DO1 registrants have been used existing IS0 standards such as SICI, ISBN, ISMN, etc. for identification of information resources. It is also important to consider that intelligence in a system of identifiers may be carried out by means of the DO1 structure. It was suggested that there should be an explicit part of the DO1 syntax which declares the meaningful information of the digital objects. DOI는 디지털 저작물에 식별자를 부여하는 URN의 명세를 따르면서 개방적인 구조를 갖고 있기 때문에 지금까지 개발된 식별자들 중 가장 우수하다고 할 수 있다. DOI가 대상 콘텐츠에 대한 어떠한 설명적 정보를 제공하지 못하기 때문에 DOI 구성체계에서 접미부가 단순한 일련번호인지 혹은 의미를 담고 있는 식별자이어야 하는지 여부는 오랜기간 논란의 대상이 되었다. 비록 DOI 등록기관들은 기존 식별체계인 SICI, ISBN, ISMN등과 같은 국제표준을 DOI접미부 번호부여에 사용해왔다. 이는 의미전달을 위한 접미부의 구성방식에 있어 표준화된 구문형식이 존재하는지 여부와 상관없이 전통적으로 표준화된 식별자 채택의 중요성을 보여주고 있다. DOI식별자는 식별체계의 지능화에 있어 중요한 수단이 될 수 있다는 가능성을 고려해야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 DOI식별자를 활용하여 대상 콘텥츠에 대한 주제정보를 전달할 수 있는 새로운 방식의 지능형 DOI식별체계를 전통적인 주제표현 방식중 가장 보편적인 DDC를 이용하여 개발하였다. 국내의 기존 사례로는 KERIS와 KDPC에서 사용하는 DOI 구현방식을 본 연구의 목적에 맞게 사용하였다.

한국 문헌정보학 교육 및 연구의 발전 동향에 대한 연구

This study examines the history and issues of the LIS field in Korea in order to identify problems of the current librarian education & research areas and provide a new direction for development in this field. As the result of the research, the issues in the department of LIS are found as follows: 1) the LIS departments are restructuring their curriculums 2) the departments are strengthening IT education 3) the foundation for producing professional librarians with area expertise is established by double major programs 4) most popular research areas are library management, organization of information, information sciences etc. 5) the research areas have been diversified as well including information search, record management and publishing. 본 논문은 우리나라에서 문헌정보학 교육과 연구 분야에서의 활동과 실적을 조사 및 정리해 보고, 이 분야 발전을 위하여 앞으로의 방향을 모색해보는데 연구 의의가 있다. 연구결과 문헌정보학 분야에서의 주요 이슈는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 1) 국내 문헌정보학과들은 교과과정을 꾸준히 재구성 중에 있다 2) IT 교육을 강화해나가고 있다 3) (주제)전문직 사서를 배출하기 위하여 학부과정에서 복수전공 과정을 도입하고 있다 4) 연구영역에서 활발한 분야는 도서관경영, 정보조직, 정보학 등으로 나타났다 5) 최근 들어 연구 분야가 다양화되고 있는데 정보검색, 기록관리, 출판 분야로 영역이 확장되고 있다.

효과적인 웹사이트 구축을 위한 개발방법론에 관한 연구

최근의 웹사이트 개발업무는 점점 복잡, 대형화되어 발전됨에 따라, 개발과 관련된 조직전체를 통제하는 시스템을 완성해 갈 수 있는 프로젝트의 관리기법과 이의 바탕이 되는 개발방법론이 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 조직적이고 체계적인 웹사이트 개발과 운영이라는 개념 자체가 거의 없는 국내 웹사이트 개발 상황하에서 국내여건에 맞는 웹사이트 개발 방법론 연구의 필요성과 타당성을 연구, 분석하였다. Developing the web-based information service sites requires their own developing methodology, because the process of the web sites development become more complicate and Internet surroundings are changing rapidly. They should control all components of the system for effective and efficient web services. However there is little clear concept about systematic development and management of web service sites, in the Korean Internet service sectors, especially in information service sectors. The research analyse current situation and necessity of developing methodology, and suggest new approach for developing new methodology of the web business/service sites.

소프트시스템 방법론을 이용한 대학정보시스템 모형개발에 관한 연구

어떤 조직체에서나 컴퓨터 네트워크 서비스에 관련된 문제는 기술적, 조직적, 인간적인 것 등 여러 가지 복잡한 요인들과 연관되어, 정보서비스 향상을 위한 문제점 파악과 그 해결 방법을 찾아내는데 어려운 점이 있다. 본 논문은 대학에서 컴퓨터 네트워크를 이용한 정보서비스를 계획 및 운영하는데 있어서 필요한 정보시스템 모형을 개발해 본 것이다. 모형개발을 위한 효과적인 방법론으로서는 최근 관심을 끌고 있는 소프트시스템 방법론을 적용하였다. 본 시스템 방법론의 일곱 단계가 전개되면서 최적의 정보시스템 모형이 개발되었는데 이는 대학 등 교육기관 뿐만 아니라 영업기관, 공공기관 등의 조직에서도 응용될 수 있겠다. 연구 결과로 개발된 네 가지 주요 시스템은 네트워크 시스템, 유지 보수 시스템, 모니터 시스템, 교육 훈련 시스템이다. In real life, the problems that organizations face are often not well packaged: they are frequently complex and complicated, especially when it is concerned about computer network services. The principal aim of the study is to investigate what sort of network sytem will enable uni ersities to utilize the information resources they have and need in an effective and efficient way. Therfore seven stages of the Soft systems methodology were applied to get the optimal model, then networking, maintaining, monitoring and training sytems were developed as the result.

공공도서관 전자정보실의 정보서비스 활성화를 위한 마케팅 전략에 관한 연구

시민의 정보화 수준 향상을 위해 현재 서울특별시립의 공공도서관에서는 디지털 자료실을 개실하여 인터넷과 DVD 위성방송 등 다양한 전자정보원과 정보서비스를 제공하고 있으며 향후 더 많은 컨텐츠들로 서비스 할 계획이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 서울특별시립 공공도서관 디지털 자료실의 활성화를 위해, S 도서관 전자정보실을 대상으로 마케팅 전략을 적용하여 디지털 자료실의 운영을 보다 체계화하여 정보서비스를 활성화하며, 궁극적으로 보다 많은 이용자를 확보하여, 이용률을 높이고 공공도서관의 정보서비스 경쟁력을 높이는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. Seoul City has been operating 17 public libraries to bridge the digital gap in the information society. Digital collection that has used recently, is providing various information services and information sources such as Internet. DVDs, satellite broadcasts and plan to offer service with more contents in the near future. In an attempt to facilitate the use of digital archives in public libraries in Seoul, this study thus applies marketing strategy to Electronic Information Center in the S Library and techniques can contribute a dynamic approach to total strategy development for library professionals that will ensure effective management and the achievement for their goals.

인터넷 이용자의 검색 행동 성향에 관한 연구

새로운 정보검색 환경인 인터넷에서의 정보검색은 과거의 정보검색행위와는 여러 면에서 다르다. 인터넷 이용자들은 과거의 정보 이용자와는 다른 행동 양식을 보이고 있기 때문에 보다 나은 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 인터넷 검색 시스템은 새로운 이용자들의 특성을 제대로 반영하여야 한다. 정보 수요자인 인터넷 이용자들의 검색 행동 성향을 조사, 분석하는 과정을 통해 이용자들의 요구사항을 파악하고, 이를 통하여 인터넷 기반 정보검색시스템 설계를 위한 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. Information retrieval on World Wide Web is very different from the one in traditional environment. Since Internet user's searching behavior shows it's own special search characteristics, a study of user's specific characteristics is necessary to offer better services. Through analysis and examination of Internet user behaviors, we suggest guidelines of design for developing Internet -based information retrieval systems.
