The most important mode of subcritical crack growth is primary water stress corrosion crack, which was the reported mechanism from the root cause analysis of the crack in the bimetallic welds. Stress corrosion crack growth evaluations was carried out for several flaw shapes of both axial and circumferential flaws, using the steady-state stresses including residual stresses. This evaluation considered the possibility of additional flaws in the primary loops of nuclear power plant, even though no such flaws have been identified by Ultrasonic Test. Consequently, Results show that the predicted flaw sizes will determine acceptability for continued service and maintenance.

The pump-pipe-injector system is that most commonly used type of injection equipment for diesel engines. In this study, a new electromagnetic fuel injection system was designed and carried out the experiment of single cylinder direct injection(DI) diesel engine. This system do not need the earn shaft for fuel injection. The effects of the injection timing on the combustion process and and emission were investigated. The results are that 1) atomization was improved, 2) combustion pressure was increased and ignition delay became shorter than before, 3) Low smoke level guar-antee with more advanced injection timing without abnormal combustion but NOx concentration was increased as the injection time advanced.

Recently, using the diesel engine is increased rapidly. They have several advantages as power sources giving a high efficiency and reliance. But the increment of air pollutant emitted from automotive has been serious problems.<br/> Here it is important to analyze combustion phenomena in diesel engine, because the exhaust gas characteristic of diesel engine is closely related to combustion phenomena of its combustion chamber. This study was carried out for combustion analysis in DI diesel engine using ionization probe. As the results, the shape and characteristics of ionization, pressure signals were almost similar. With increase of engine speed and intake air temperature, the ignition delay became shorter, and the combustion duration became long. Therefore, the ionization probe can be used for combustion analysis instead of relatively expensive pressure sensor.<br/>
