        The purpose of this paper is to survey and analyze the difference on presupposition-triggers of English and Korean. The presupposition in English and Korean was able to confirm the presupposition-triggers in terms of lexical, syntactical, and pragmatical. One peculiar point in the presupposition-triggers of English and Korean is that the English is the center of the verb, while the Korean is the center of the verb and the noun. It is an absolutely different part of English that proper nouns are used as presupposition-triggers in Korean. In a situation where society becomes complicated, the study on presupposition will become more complicated. Especially, for young people who have developed and made SNS, the phenomenon will accelerate. The abbreviation, the internet term, and even the body language influence the presupposition-triggers.

        영어와 한국어의 담화 맥락구조에 대한 연구

        The purpose of this paper is to examine how the discourse markers needed to make the contextual structure in discourse softer and smoother are used in English and Korean. According to the survey, in order to smooth the context structure of the discourse, it was necessary to use the discourse cover properly and also that it must be used in an appropriate situation. In addition, the context of discourse is divided into a linguistic context and a social and cultural context, and it would be objectionable to examine the discourse between generations as a discourse contextual structure. This is because there are so many things that need to be considered in order to properly discourse through contextual structures between the youths of the SNS generation and the older generations. This part should be the subject of future research. Because discourse is a life of language and language is also changing, it is said that proper communication can be achieved only by analyzing and understanding the discourse context structure between the older generation and the younger generation. In English, the discourse context structure is based on the type of GSTON, the type of information, including Hymes" SPEAKING model for discourse form. In the case of Korean, the context structure of the discourse must be examined through the structure of direct vision and agreement. In order to form a smooth and smooth communication relationship in a language life, the most basic and essential matter is to form a context structure of an appropriate discourse.

        영어와 한국어의 간접화행 비교 분석

        The purpose of this paper is to examine the usage of indirect speech act in English and Korean through a questionnaire. Although all the language expressions we use in our daily life are speech act, the meanings conveyed can vary depending on the speaker's expression or the listener's understanding. Differences in language of the time, social, and culture will naturally exist, but it can be predicted that language differences between generations in one culture will further accelerate. Direct speech act can be easily accepted in any language, but indirect speech act is difficult to understand because of habits and customs arising from social and cultural differences. In recent years, it can be considered that the meaning of indirect speech act brought about by generational differences is accelerating more than ever. As the survey results show, they are well aware of the speech act, but if they go to the sub-classification of direct speech act and indirect speech act, they tend to feel difficult to understand. The expressions of indirect speech act in English and Korean are frequently used in the form of questions, statements, and commands, and in the order of frequency, the order of question, statement, and command was followed. In conclusion, we examined the meaning, usage, and degree of use of indirect speech act in English and Korean, and investigated how to pay attention in using indirect speech act in the future through a survey. The students who responded to the questionnaire are students majoring in English, so the same answer to the question about the ease of use and understanding of indirect speech act is that they use the same expressions of indirect speech act in both languages, whether consciously or unconsciously. However, there may be a slight difference between expression and frequency. (Jeju National University)
