A micro-impression creep machine was designed and developed, adopting a small punch in diameter of 150 ㎛, displacement gage with an accuracy of sub-㎛ scale, and load-cell with an accuracy of mN scale in order to investigate creep behavior of small solder ball in diameter of less than 1 ㎜. Creep behavior of lead-free solder ball(Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu) in diameter of 760 ㎛ was investigated in the stress range of 8~60 ㎫ and at 303 K ~ 393 K. The applied load became decreased slightly and continuously in the creep rate of 10?⁴/s range during the current experiments. Also, the machine frame was so sensitive to the environmental temperature that ㎚ scaled displacement recording was unstable according to the change in environmental temperature.

For the wear characteristics assessment of Saemaul train passing through curves, an analysis model for multi-car system has been developed. By using this model and ADAMS/Rail, sensitivity analyses have been conducted for the wear characteristics by changing the related parameters. According to the increase of running speed, the wear number, the sliding mean and friction coefficient were increased. At high speed, the wear number, the sliding mean and friction coefficient of left wheel showed higher than right wheel. If the cant increased, the wear number the sliding mean and friction coefficient increased. but decreased based on the balance cant value by the curvature and running speed.

In this study, SPCC cross-tension type specimens produced under various welding conditions were tensile and fatigue tested. Decrease of 2 kA in normal current condition of 10 kA caused a large amount of reduction in both static joining strength and fatigue life. And 2 kA increase resulted in increase of static joining strength and an increase in low cycle regime but a decrease in high cycle regime, revealing the fact that fatigue strength rather than static joining strength would be a major factor during design process in view of the body endurance. As a results of estimating the fatigue lifetimes of various types of specimens, equivalent stress intensity factor is the proper parameter for predicting the lifetimes of various types of specimens, which can be expressed as ΔK_(eq) (N/mm^(1.5)) = 11550N_(f)^(-0.36)
