Parallelized Single-Electron Pumps Based on Gate-Tunable Quantum Dots

Parallelization of pump devices is a direct way to increase the output level of the single-electron pump, which is required for metrological purposes. We fabricated a pair of single-electron pumps in parallel on a chip level and investigated their synchronized electron pumping phenomena. In the investigation, the pumping error was estimated to see whether the error was increased after the parallelization. We found that a proper choice of rf gates must be made in accordance with the direction of the applied magnetic field. In relation with the chirality of the edge state, the rf modulating gates should be chosen not to produce rf-induced heating effects.

In order to build a smart factory, there must be an evaluation methodology suitable for the business environment of the company. Since TIPA standards are applied to all industries, there are items that are not suitable for electronic product manufacturing companies B2B SMEs. The evaluation criteria were designed in consideration of these business characteristics. By applying this evaluation criterion, the current level must be clearly measured to distinguish between strengths and weaknesses. In this paper, this criterion was applied to evaluate electronic products B2B SMEs. Depending on the evaluation results, it is necessary to identify areas for improvement in each area necessary for smart factory operation and to establish them based on mid- to long-term plans.

In order to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing companies, smart factories are being actively promoted under the leadership of the government. Recently, the integration of lean production systems and smart factories is being studied mainly in Europe. From the perspective of this operation, this study empirically analyzed the implementation level of lean system targeting companies that built smart factories and those that did not. The results of the study confirmed that companies with a high level of smart factories also have high performance in implementing and operating Lean Systems. This requires a transition to a lean production system suitable for manufacturing plants before building a smart factory. Since the operation of a smart factory is closely related to the manufacturing site, it is necessary to accurately understand the level of the manufacturing site through the Lean Production System to successfully build and operate a smart factory suitable for the company.
