        Photoluminescence Characteristics of Merocyanine Dyes in Ionic Liquids

        The photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of merocyanine dye molecules in ionic liquids of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM]PF6) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIM]BF4) with different purity grades were investigated. The absorption spectra for this dye in all the ionic liquid solvents investigated looked very similar while the PL emission spectra differed markedly depending on the type of ionic liquid and the impurity content. In all purity grades of [BMIM]BF4 and the ultrahigh grade of [BMIM]PF6, the PL spectra of these merocyanine solutions showed a single peak around 480 nm. However, when a lower grade of [BMIM]PF6 was used as the solvent, an additional PL peak appeared around 575 nm. The deprotonation from the hydroxyl group of the merocyanine molecule after photoexcitation is proposed to explain the phenomenon in this unique solvent system.n

        Optical Dichroism of Hemicyanine-Incorporated Zeolite Monolayer Self-Assembled on Glass Plate

        Hemicyanine dye molecules were put into the pores of a uniformly-oriented zeolite (silicalite-1) film self-assembled on a glass substrate. The anisotropy of the incorporated molecules in this film was studied by measuring the absorption with linearly polarized light. With $45^\circ$ incidence, the absorption of \emph{p}-polarized light was 9.3 times larger than that of \emph{s}-polarized light, indicating the dye molecules were preferentially aligned normal to the plate along the vertical channel of the pore. On the other hand, the fluorescence anisotropy measured by using excitation on the edge of the film with linearly polarized light by confocal microscope was as much as 50. We propose that light scattering in an uneven silicalite film was the main cause of the discrepancy in observed anisotropy.

        Comparison of the Fluorescence Characteristics of Dye Molecules in Liquid Crystal and Conventional Solvents

        We investigated the fluorescence characteristics of hemicyanine dye molecules in conventional solvents and in the isotropic phase of liquid-crystal 4-pentyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl. Fluorescence decay lifetime of hemicyanine in liquid crystal decreased monotonically as the temperature was increased. As compared to glycerol, the fluorescence decay lifetime of hemicyanine in the isotropic phase of liquid crystal was appreciably longer. This longer decay lifetime of hemicyanine in liquid crystal can be explained by a restricted internal rotational motion of the hemicyanine molecule due to strong interaction between the dye molecule and the liquid crystal molecules as compared to other solvents.         Particles Size Measurements of Silole Nano-clusters by Using Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy

        Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) is a powerful tool in fundamental and applied science to measure the properties of particles diffusing in a liquid. Important parameters of the diffusive particles, such as the diffusion coefficient, particle size, and viscosity, can be directly measured by using FCS with high accuracy. Here, we used FCS to study nano-clusters of silole molecules formed by aggregation in acetone-water mixtures. The analysis of the auto-correlation of the intensity fluctuation from fluorescing nanoaggregates freely diffusing in a solution allowed the determination of the size of the clusters on a nanometer scale. Aggregate formation of silole molecules was investigated systematically by measuring the cluster sizes made at different silole concentrations and water contents.

        -경혈 및 트리거 포인트에서- 미약 자기장을 이용한 근피로 회복 평가

        이에 본 연구에서는 비침습적인 방식으로 국소적 부위인 경혈과 Trigger Point에서 경결된 근조직과 신경조직을 자극할 수 있는 자기장 자극 시스템을 제작하였다. 시스템을 이용하여 가정용 저주파치료기기와 동일한 조건에서 상완 이두박근의 근피로 유발 후 근피로 회복을 평가하였다. 경혈과 Trigger Point의 해부학적 위치가 동일한 청영혈(HT2)를 자극위치로 선정하였다. 등척성 운동을 통하여 25명의 일반인에게 근피로를 유발시켰으며, 무자극 5명, 저주파 치료기기의 전기자극 10명, 자기장 자극 10명으로 분류하였다. 자극시간은 5분으로 하여 자극하였으며, 5일동안 EMG를 측정하여 관찰하였다. EMG를 주파수영역에서 분석해본 결과, 무자극의 근피로 회복률이 가장 저조했으며, 저주파치료기기의 전기자극보다 자기장 자극이 근피로 회복에 효과적인 것으로 확인되었다. The aim of this study was developing the non-invasive focused magnetic stimulation system(NI_FMSS) that can stimulates acupoints which are small parts and knotted muscular tissues. To evaluate pain treatment effect of the NI_FMSS, we caused muscle fatigue to 25 subjects in biceps of the arm. Then, we stimulated acupoints(trigger points) HT2 using low frequency stimulator(10 subjects) and NI_FMSS(10 subjects). The other 5 subjects had not been stimulated. We analyzed muscle fatigue recovery with median frequency, RMS and median power in frequency domain for 5 days. We checked the magnetic stimulation effect on acupoint by evaluation of muscle fatigue recovery. Therefore, we identified that the NI_FMSS was more efficient system to relieve muscle pain than electric-stimulation system.

        미약 전자기장을 이용한 말초장애 치료시스템 개발

        당뇨 합병증 등으로 인한 말초혈류 및 신경장애, 수족냉증 및 손가락 관절염, 통증 질환이 증가하고 있으며, 이러한 문제를 개선할 수 있는 손가락 질환 전용 치료기기가 전무한 상태로 이와 관련된 치료기의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 시변 미약자기장을 이용하여 비침습적으로 말초혈류/신경개선과 손가락 류마티스 치료를 위한 솔레노이드 원통형 코일을 제작하고, 다양한 치료목적에 사용하기 위해서 3가지 자극모드(N, S, N/S)와 자극주파수(0.25, 0.5, 1hz)를 선택할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하였다. 자속밀도 측정 프로브를 솔레노이드의 중심에서부터 거리를 0 ~ 3cm 단계로 자극방식과 주파수별로 자속밀도를 측정하였다. 자속밀도를 측정한 결과, 모든 자극방식과 주파수에서 솔레노이드 내부의 중심(0cm)에 근접할수록 자속밀도가 급격히 증가하였다. 솔레노이드 중심 자속밀도는 N자극 (294.3mT)과 S자극(293.8mT)에서는 1Hz, N/S자극(275.4mT)에서는 0.25Hz에서 가장 높게 측정되었다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 패턴과 강도의 자기장을 이용하여 다양한 손가락 질환을 치료할 수 있는 솔레노이드형 치료기기를 개발하였다. 솔레노이드 내부 자속밀도를 측정함으로써 손가락 말초질환 개선을 위한 미약자기장 시스템의 임상 적용 가능성을 확인하였다. It has increased that peripheral disturbance(blood flow, nerve, Raynaud's phenomenon) and finger rheumatoid arthritis which is caused by the diabetic complications. To improve these pain issues, we proposed new method for the Finger Disease Therapy(FDT). In this paper, we manufactured solenoid cylindrical coil which was only for the FDT using a variable micro-electromagnetic. Also, we designed the Finger Disease Therapy System(FDTS) which could select three stimulation modes(N_pulse, S_pulse, N/S_pulse) and frequency(0.25hz, 0.5hz, 1hz). We used a Teslameter to measure magnetic flux inner solenoid, and measured magnetic flux as distance(0 ~ 3cm) inner solenoid with stimulation modes and frequency. In the results, magnetic flux was the highest in center of solenoid(0cm) for all stimulation modes. Also, the highest magnetic flux was measured as N_pulse(294.3mT), S_pulse(293.8mT) in 1Hz and N/S_pulse (275.4mT) in 0.25Hz, respectively. Therefore, we developed the FDTS using various pattern and intensity for finger diseases therapy, and checked therapy clinic application possibility of the FDTS as measuring magnetic flux inner solenoid.

        동일 경락상의 요혈(要穴)에서 체표 에너지 분포도 분석

        Objectives: The object of this study is measuring energy (skin capacitance) distribution on the specific acupionts and analyzing change patterns of meridian energy according to time or synchronous time. Methods: To check energy distribution using the meridian energy measurement system(DMM-1000), ten specific acupoints(ST34, ST36, ST40, ST41, ST42, ST43, ST44, ST45, BL21, CV12) were chosen. We checked the energy distribution and analyzed the change patterns before and after meal. We checked the state of the energy of ST meridian which is considered to have relation to stomach organ activity. Based on the hypothesis regarding energy difference due to Qi flowing, we compared energy potential on 10 specific acupoints. Results and Conclusions: Electric energy of each specific acupoint was different according to subjects and time. Through this study, we proposed an indispensable condition of energy difference due to Qi flowing through meridian.
