        This study is to discuss the growth of Korean Amateur boxers domestically and internationally. The implications of the study are as follows: 1. The average of Korean boxers when they commence training in boxing is 14 years and 9 months. The average period of their training required before participating in local competitions is 10 months and 18 days. 2. The average period of their training required before participating in the National Competitions after that is 1 and 1/2 year which is the shortest. 3. The average period of their training required before participating in the Continental Competitions after that is 4 and 1/2 years. 4. The average period of their training required before participating in the World or Olympic Competitions is 5 and 1/3 years. 5. The Korean National Representative boxers were found to have participated in competitions 15, times per year average. The Korean boxers' ring careers are lack compared with the Eastern European boxers as is found on the chart 10 and 11.

      • 韓國體育의 現況과 展望 考察

        Among the organizations related to sport are the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Korean Sport Promotion Association, the Sport-for-All Association, the Korea Social Sport Centers, as well as various professional team sport associations for boxing, wrestling, baseball, and basketball, etc. There are also associations for traditional Korean style wrestling, cycling, and horseback riding, etc. Various clubs for golf, swimming, racquetball and ski, etc. also exist. In addition, the Korea Sport Science Research Institute, the Korean Alliance for Health, Physical Edcation, Recreation and Dance universities(including the Korea National University of Physical Education), and other reasearch groups perform scientific studies related to sport. There are also the military sport division, sport cable(established on December 27,1993) and three daily sport newspapers: Sport Seoul, Daily Sport, and Sport Chosun, Monthly or seasonal magazines are also published by the different sport associations and by individual publishers. In addition, politicians, individuals, and various academic and research groups publish their own jounals which present and publicize conducted research. All of these are examples of the efforts toward expanding the pool of sportsmen. The Korean government established the Korea National University of Physical Education in 1977 with the purpose of discovering, managing and cultivating elite athletes during their primary school years and throughout their junior and high school years so that they can go to college and continue their life as an athlete. In order to instill the idea that "You can be financially well-off in life by working hard", a law concerned with pension management was passed by the Korea Sport Promotion Association; The law awards 600,000 Korean won, 300,000 Korean won and 200,000 Korean won every month to an athlete for each gold, silver and bronze medal, respectively, won at an Olympic Game. In other international competitions or Asia competitions, a second gold, silver of bronze medal means the same financial benefit as that of the Olympic Games. As a result of this award system, Korea was able to surprise the world with its record at the '86 Asian Games and the '88 Olympic Games. Even after the Olympic, the efficient utilization of the facilities and the experience gained from the international competitions has not only contributed to efforts toward cultivating elite sport but also toward showing the world of the Korean people's hidden capabilities. In addition, because the people are living a life of financial stability, they have come to desire leisure, as well as a healthy life, such that the demand for community sport, club sport, and professional sport continues to grow. As an extension this year, the Korean People Sport Festival was held in Seoul in order to help even a little our people living in other parts of world.

        Physical Education is a sort of activity of Education, so it's final object is the forming of Human. It is hard and endless problem to make a definite meaning about human-being through the philosophical and anthrophological. But, here, I say about human evcational meaning, it is an existence of education, material, physical, mental, live, and Social value, and it has various dimension. I am going to try, to argue about Human Education and Physical Educational Instruction as a primary, middle, and high school education. It briefs followin three point about this thesis. [A] Physical Educational Instruction as a school eduction. Firstly, physical Educational Instruction must be an activity to make grow personal health and ability through helping physical development, and it must be an element of national development foundation, as a perfect human education. Secondly, physical eductional instruction must be an acti activity of correcting educational fault coming from environment which only intellectual education enforced. Thirdly, physical instruction has the element of potential curriculum, so we must make efforts to achieve Human educational object through the practicing of physical education curriculum. [B] Physical Instruction as a field of Human Education. Firstly, phisical instructor is a technical and ethical shower, so must exhibit creative leadership in his instructional activities. Secondly, physical instructor must lead human relationship so that shildren exhibit their creativity in society and they upbring social adaptation through their personal desire adjustment. [C] Physical Education as a readiness of Future life, phisical Instruction must try to upbring the adatation and protect the natural humanity in future industrical society. So it will exhibit more powerfully human educational object.

        Rope skipping is an exercise that can be done with little cost, space and time. Despite its minimal requirements, however, the exercise provides great effect in disciplining the participants' mind and body which in turn helps them to become wholesome members of society. Anyone regardless of age, sex, or strength can do rope skipping. The exercise is not harmful to the body because one performs it alone at one's own pace at a place that is safe and peaceful. Since it requires the movement of the whole body, rope skipping can help to develop a balanced figure. In addition, it can improve circulation and the respiratory function, as well as prevent lack of appetite, gastroenteric disorder, cardiac disease, and so, on. Moreover, rope skipping can help people with obesity to burn fat.

        Modern sports and sportsmanship which was introduced by the foreign missionaries during the years of 1870's, had greatly influence to Korean who were struggling with Japanese ruling and national independence in 1990's. 'Yoo Gack Kwon' club which was formulaed by Park, Seung-Pill, is recognized as the introducing of boxing gloves by Mr. Gillette, the American advisor of Koran YMCA at that time. History of Koran boxing game has five distinctive periodical characteristics. The early development has been made from 1912 to 1935. From the year 1936 until 1944 could be named as the second stage of Korean boxing history. Through this perid which was under the Japanese ruling and depression, Korean boxing had made a gradual movement for international competition. The third stage would be from the national independence in 1945 to 1960, and few Korean boxing had more sctively participated in world events representing their home country. The fourth stage would be from 1961 until up to the present which includes the modern era, and Korean boxing has made a big sride in progress aling with the flourishing of other modern sports. Korean boxing which has relatively short time of history has made few recent victories for medal in 1984 LA Olympics, 1986 Seoul Asian Games and 1988 Seoul Olympics Games.

        The purpose of this study was to systematize new exercise method and Teaching method of rope skip exercise. The implication of this study were as follows : 1) To classify the the method and the form of rope skip exercise and then exercise from easy one to hard one. 2) The method of rope skip exercise must be composed of individual Gymnastics and give special orders in each exercise. 3) Many people can exercise together on the same time, forms, skills, so, the relationship among people will be increased. 4) The various method of rope skip exercise gave people only strong body but also enjoyable life. 5) The rope skip exercise was the one that did not needs much expenses, times, and special places.

      • 게이트볼 참여에 관한 실태 조사

        The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of gateball participants with respect to gender; age group; degree of involvement; day, time and place of participation; person who first encouraged participation; persons one plays with; motive for participation; obstacles to participation; and sought benefits. The study also attempted to identify any associations between each variable and gender and age. The subjects included 96 persons who participated in the 13th National Gateball Competition 솜 was held in the city of Namyang in the Kyunggi District. Data analyses included the calculation of the frequency and percentage distributions for each variable, as well as the employment of the t-test, one-way ANOVA and chi-square test in order to determine whether each variable differ with respect to the participants.

        자연과학편 : 복싱선수들의 펀치력 강화에 관한 연구

        In order to fundamental study on the explosive strength as a punch of boxer after weighted training during 12 weeks were determined in fourteen boxer in Korean national college of physical education.As a results of this study the following conclusion were obtained:1) In aspect of explosive strength that grip, push-ups and pull-ups test score were more high significantly increased after dumb-bell swing exercise added in weight training for experimental group, when compare those of data were excellent than the control group.2) The correlation coefficient between pre and post-test score of grip strength was r=+0,924(p<0.01) in experimental group and that of control group was r=+0.912(p<0.01), respectively.It is hope that the information will be use for reference in future edeavors of study in the field of boxing and physical fitness for athletic science.
