Historically the basic purpose of the building was to protect people from the weather and the external hazards. Especially, building skin is the physical architectural device which marks the boundary between external environment and internal environment. This study is about the skin design of the solar powered buildings, which provide the energy to buildings. I would like to suggest an applicable design technique, considering both solar powered building and building skin system. Through the process, this study is to classify solar powered building skin technologies and applications, and to grasp the design characteristics. Also suggest application techniques to be used as basic data for the decision of appropriate skin type in designing single building.
도심지 내 노후화된 공동주택의 범죄예방을 위한 CPTED 기법 적용방안에 관한 연구

최근 서울 시민을 대상으로 한 설문조사에서 환경 문제 해결, 교통 체계 개선과 함께 범죄 예방에 관한 요구가 가장 높게 나타났다. 그 중에서도 가족과 함께하는 주거 지역의 범죄 예방에 대한 요구는 다른 어느 항목보다 더 중요한 것 으로 나타났다. 범죄 발생률은 주로 노후화 된 주거 지역에서 높게 나타나는데, 이는 범죄와 물리적인 환경 요인의 관계 를 나타내 주는 것이라 할 수 있고, 주변 환경에 대해 적절한 조치가 범죄를 예방할 수 있다는 것으로 이해될 수 있다. 각종 범죄로부터 안전할 수 있도록 하는 다양한 예방법이 있지만 우리 주변의 물리적인 환경을 개선함으로써 범죄를 사 전에 차단하고 예방할 수 있다는 CPTED는 이러한 측면에서 가장 주목받고 있는 방법 중 하나이다. CPTED의 기본 원 리는 자연감시, 접근통제, 영역성 확보의 기본 원리와 활동성 강화, 유지 관리의 부가 원리로 구성된다. 본 연구의 목적 은 도심지 내 노후화 된 공동주택 단지를 대상으로 CPTED의 원리를 적용하여 범죄 발생률을 떨어뜨리고 사전에 예방 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는데 있다.
환경친화형 태양광선 조절시스템의 디자인 특성과 적용방법에 관한 연구

Until about 100 years ago, the heating, cooling, and lighting of buildings was the domain of architecture. Thermal comfort and lighting were achieved with the design of building and a few appliances. Heating was achieved by a compact design, cooling by opening windows to the wind and shading them from the sun, and lighting by windows. Especially, daylighting was essential factor to live humanbeings in the room. Sometimes the architect must accept the light as it is and design the form in response to it. Contemporary architecture, environmental issues have risen up, people start to focus on the development-preservation balance. They tried to build a new model, which reflect the natural cycle and the interaction of eco-system. After the Rio environmental council, 1992, this movement was accelerated and expanded to energy consumption issues. The correlation between architect and environment, also, picked up speed. In this paper, we suggest application techniques to be used as basic data for the decision of appropriate daylighting control system in designing single building.

Since the Intelligent Building was first introduced in early 1980s, It has been studied and designed by related technical experts as it was called by the name of intelligent Building, High-tech Intelligence Building, High-capacity Building, Intellectual Building, etc. Despite the need for new concept as the relation between global environment and architecture has become an issue on a full scale since 1990s and with the development of high technology, former concept is maintained without modification or complement. Especially, attempt to combine industrial technology with architecture is essential to Intelligent Building, therefore frequent opportunity of self-innovation according to the development of technology is necessary. Due to the rarity of the high-technology and its high cost, it was adopted to large-scale construction, however, nowadays, almost all kinds of buildings are getting designed with intelligent-technology. Therefore we can expect that this trend will be accelerated by evolution of technology and will position as a major stream of future architecture along with environment-friendly architecture. Through this process, we should fully be aware of the importance of the several intelligent skin technology to protect global environment and to set future direction in architecture.
테크놀로지를 활용한 환경 친화적 건축의 디자인 특성과 분류 기법에 관한 연구

Progress and development of technology after 20th century has made innovative changes in the social and architectural domains has improved the quality of life. However, there are serious environmental problems behind the convenience of life and prosperity. These problems have already become concerns which are related to the survival of human being. Architecture and environment are no longer separate concepts. They are now considered as coexisting subjects. Mutual relevancy of technology and architecture is expected to be more emphasized in the future. Therefore, necessity of study and project performed by combining technology and environment problem will become more important. This study intends to seize the design characteristics and classification techniques followed by the application of technology in environment-friendly single buildings. Through this process, the suggestion will not stay superficially at scheme stage. By introducing more specific application method, application of various design elements can be expected.

The Progress and development of technology occurring since the 20th century has improved the quality of life of most people. However, serious energy problems have arisen as a result of this lifestyle of convenience and prosperity. These problems have already stared to threaten the very survival of human beings. Architecture and energy are no longer separate concepts. They are now considered as coexisting subject areas. The mutual relevance of energy, technology and architecture is expected to be more emphasized in the future. This study is concerned with the skin design of intelligent housing, which defines the external and infernal boundary. Applicable design techniques are suggested. The purpose of his study is to classify intelligent skin technologies and applications, and to grasp the design characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, as well as design techniques of each items related to Housing. This study will also suggest application techniques that can be used as basic data for determining an appropriate skin type when designing single buildings.

As the architecture technology develops, more factors become vital conditions of the building. The research was processed in two parts: indoor temperature & ventilation and HVAC systems inside the E center. In the case of indoor temperature & ventilation part, research was proceeded by analyzing the problems and suggesting appropriate improvements. And, in the case of the HVAC system part, research was progressed in a way that suggesting a method for minimizing the heating and cooling load consumed by the HVAC system inside the center. This paper is about energy retrofit projects only inside the E center, but it might be useful for others who are aspiring to find the solution of similar buildings and cases.
