Machine tool dynamics is investigated under actual working conditions. Experimental evaluation of cutting dynamics in a lathe is made with cutting conditions and cutting positions varied. The thrust force and the toolpost and tailstock accelerations during turning process are modelled and analyzed by employing Dynamic Data System methodology. It is found that two acceleration signals are good enough to replace the thrust force, when used for machine tool identification under cutting process and for chatter detection.

In this paper, we analyzed the effect of the time delay of the image sensor in the tracking loop of Electro-Optical 'Tracking System(EOTS). we showed that Smith predictor can greatly improve the stability and various performances of EOTS with time delay. And also, to verify the realistic validity, we executed the experiment in EOTS recently developed, and confirmed the effectiveness in EOTS.

In this paper, we present the new angular velocity pick-off method for DTG (dynamically tuned gyroscope) which is widely used in various inertial navigation systems and motion control systems. In case of the external angular velocity input, the proposed scheme can make a smaller tilt-angle rather than that of conventional PI method in the transient and steady state because it has an additional inner rebalance loop with a mathematical model of the real gyroscope. So, without any mechanical redesign of the DTG, its dynamic range can be enlarged by the proposed method. The theoretical analysis and simulation model of DTG with the proposed scheme are given. Finally, the proposed scheme is verified
