To remove nitrogen oxides(NOx) in exhaust gas of diesel engine three-way catalytic process with plasma discharger has great possibilities. Characteristics of NOx removal depends on NO conver-sion to $NO_2$ and /or $HNO_3$ due to high activation energies for NO oxidation and reduction, NOx removal efficiency by using three-way catalytic with plasma discharger indicated about 50% at 40watt power consumption condition.

In order to reduce a aerodynamic drag of the rear, body, effects of rear lower end configurauon of a vehicles were investigated by measuring the pressure distribution,visual flow phenomena by the use of digital image processing technique. The use of flow visualization in recent years has improved the general understanding of structure of complex flow and has yielded valuable information for analyzing fluid flow. As the results, it was found that the shape of rear lower part vehicles not only effected on the pressure distribution of the rear part of the vehicle but also difference of the flow phenomena,<br/> <br/>

This study was carried out to develop an engine for off-road vehicles especially for farm tractors using the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which is known as a source of energy having good potential of substitute fuel for diesel engine because of its economical advantage and low pollutant materials after combustion. The study was focused on develop an engine of high in specific power output, low in specific fuel consumption and emission of pollutants. A series of teat was dope on the engine - various laboratory tests to analyze performance of the engine and actual field tests with the engine installed on a farm tractor as a power source.

This is a fundamental study to improve the performance of the LPG engine. The result were summarized as followed. 1. The measured torque and power on the fuel of LPG were indicated about 8% lower than those on gasoline with the same compression ratio. 2. In the case of LPG, BSFD at compression ratio of 9.7 was about 5% lower than that of 8.3 at 3,000ppm 3. HC and CO concentrations of the LPG were lower about 53%, 35% than those of gasoline

When some kinds of inhibitors, i.e. $1{\times}10{-3}mol/l$ arsenic trioxide, 0.2 mol/l 2-mercaptoethanol, 0.2mol/l thiourea were added to 3% NaCl solution, there were some considererable effects to decrease corrosion current density in natural potential condition and the effect fo solution temperature increasing corrosion rate was smaller than that of no addition to 3% NaCl solution. However the susceptibility of hydrogen embrittlement due to over-protection in case of cathodic protection was much greater than that of no addition, especially was the greatest in case of addition of 2-mercaptoethanol. Therefore adding inhibitors for anti-corrosion effect, it is suggested that selection of the optimum protection potential is important from the view point of prevention against hydrogen embrittlement due to over-protection in case of cathodic protection.

Electrochemical protection diagrams of RA 32 high tensile strength steel (for hull structure), SUS 316L stainless steel and high pure lead(Pb) can be drawn with the data from those external cathodic and anodic polarization curves which are measured in 5∼98% sulfuric acid solutions in the slow scan rate. The main results obtained from the diagrams are as follows ; 1. The RA 32 steel can be self passivated in the solutions of concentration higher than 45%, and the SUS 316Lsteel in the solutions of higher than 75% and the lead in the solutions of all concentration also give rise to the same phenomenon. 2. The lead in the solutions of concentration lower than 80% and the SUS 316L steel in the solutions of higher than 80% can be used without protection. 3. The RA 32 steel in the solutions of higher than 50% also can be used without protection on the economical view, but the SUS 316L steel in the 20∼70% solutions are corrosive considerably to use without protection anodically.
