To check the possibility for microwave sintering of MLCC(multi layer ceramic capacitor) the tape cast-ed BaTiO3 thick films in zirconia insulation box were sintered by the domestic microwave oven. Microwave sintered samples had higher density lower porosity than coventionally sintered ones. but they didn't show Z5U electrical properties due to short sintering time about 15 minutes.

적외선 광온도계(IR optical thermometer)와 PID 온도조절기에 의해 소성온도와 시간을 정밀하게 조절할 수 있는 마이크로파 소성장치를 사용하여 BaTiO3 시편을 소성하였다. 또한 마이크로파 소성중에 광섬유 온도계(optical fiber thermoneter)로 시편의 내부온도를 측정하여 같은 조건에서의 일반소성에 의한 시편과 소성특성을 비교한 결과, 소성시간에 따른 빠른 입성장속도과 큰 결정립경을 가졌으며, 온도에 따른 유전성질의 변화는 20~16$0^{\circ}C$의 측정범위에서 같은 경향을 보였다. The microwave sintered BaTiO3 samples were obtained by using the microwave sintering device which can precisely control the sintering temperature and the sinter time by using IR optical thermometer and PID temperature controller. During microwave sintering the internal temperature of samples were mesur-ed by the optical fiber thermometer to compare the sintering behaviors between microwave- and con-ventionally sintered ones. The former showed the faster rate of grain growth with sintering time and the larger grain size than the latter. Also they showed the similar pattern of dielectric properties with tem-perature changes from 2$0^{\circ}C$ to 16$0^{\circ}C$.
마이크로파 수열법에 의한 PbTiO$_3$ PMN 세라믹분말의 합성

Lead titanate(PT) and lead magnesium niobate(PMN) ceramic powders were prepared by microwave hy-drothermal method using teflon bomb. Raw materials were Pb(NO3)2 and TiO2 for lead titanate and Pb(NO3)2 Nb2O5 and Mg(NO)3.6H2O for PMN with NaOH as mineralizer in both cases. in lead titanate synthsis rate of microwave hydrothermal method was faster three times than one f conventional hydrothermal methods In lead magnesium niobate synthsis the mixture of perovskite and pyrochlore phases was obtained by single step technique and the PMN was not obtained by double step technique due to low temperature limitation of teflon bomb.

The degradation of barium titanate ceramics was studied under the high AC electric field. At 150$^{\circ}C$, life time was measured as a function of grain size, controlled by varying sintering time at 1375$^{\circ}C$ and electrical properties, such as AC conductivity, capacitance and dissipation factor, were measured during degradation process. The life time decreased as grain size increased in the range of 2.44-8.23$\mu\textrm{m}$. The AC conductivity was remained constant and increased suddenly at the last stage of degradation process. The capacitance was slowly decreased and the dissipation factor was slowly increased as the degradaton progressed.

By gel-casting, the silicon-polymer green bodies were prepared for silicon nitride ceramics, sintered by microwave gas phase reaction. Considering the viscosity and the idle time of slurries, we decided the operational conditions of related processes, and the optimum concentrations of raw materials powders, organic monomers, cross-linker, dispersant, initiator, and catalyst. So we could get the machinable green bodies, having about 50 MPa of bending strength without cracks by selecting drying conditions carefully.
Fabrication of Silicon Nitride Ceramics by Gel-Casting and Microwave Gas Phase Reaction Sintering(Ⅱ)

Silicon nitride ceramics were prepared by microwave gas phase reaction sintering. By this method higher density specimens were obtained for short time and at low temperature, compared than ones by conventional pressureless sintering, even though sintering behaviors showed same trend, the relative density of sintered body inverse-exponentially increases with sintering temperature and/or holding time. And grain size of β-phase of the microwave sintered body is bigger than one of the conventional pressureless sintered one. Also they showed good bending strengths and thermal shock resistances.
지열히트펌프 지중열교환기용 벤토나이트계 그라우트재의 열전도특성 및 기본성능

In this study, the thermal conductive characteristics and basic properties of the nine commercial products of bentonite grouts were studied. Six of the nine products for ground heat exchanger systems are imported and others for civil engineering are domestic. The thermal conductivities of all bentonite products are nearly similar among products. The frees well indexes, viscosities and filter losses of the ground heat exchanger grouts are lower than those of the civil engineering ones. These characteristics seem to increase of the fluidity to fill the bentonite slurry to bore-hall perfectly, rather than to prevent underground water penetration. Thus, the mixtures of bentonites and sands are recommended for high thermal conduction grouts.
액상 Ni/Si/Co 침투에 의한 반응결합 TiC 복합체의 치밀화

The reaction-bonded TiC-Ni/Si/Co composites were prepared by the melt infiltration of Co, Si, and Ni me-tal into the TiC preforms. The miocrostructure reaction composition and mechanical properties were in-vestigated. In the case of the melt infiltrated with Co and Ni TiC grain shape was changed from angular to spherical shape with the average grain size of ∼5$\mu\textrm{m}$. In the case of the melt infiltrated with Co/Si or Ni/Si, Si was reacted with TiC particles and formed SiC particles. The bending strength of both specimens which have atomic ratio of 3 were 710 MPa and 515 MPa respectively. In the case of the melt infiltrated with Ni/Si/Co,. nonstoichiometric TiC was formed and its bending strength decreased to 420 MPa.
$La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-\delta}$ 산소 투과 분리막의 제조 및 특성

공침법, 구연산법 그리고 고상 반응법을 이용하여 $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-\delta}$ 분말을 합성하고 정수압 성형 후 대기 중에서 소결하여 산소 투과 분리막을 제조하였다. 모든 분말 및 소결체는 페롭스카이트 결정구조를 보였다. 분말의 비표면적은 공침 분말이 가장 높은 값($7.5m^2/g$)을 보였지만 Sr원소의 유실이 일어났고 구연산법은 상대적으로 낮은 밀도를 나타내었다. 고상 반응법은 가장 작은 비표면적을 갖는 분말이 제조되었으나 상대밀도 95%이상의 치밀한 분리막을 제조할 수 있었고 기계적 특성에서도 상대적으로 우수한 성질을 보였다. 특히 6 : 4 : 2 : 8의 몰비의 조성제어가 상대적으로 용이하였다. We synthesized $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-\delta}$ powders by coprecipitation, citration and solid-state reactions. The oxygen permeation membranes were fabricated by cold isostatic pressing of the synthesized powders, followed by sintering in air. All powders and membranes consist of perovskite phases. The coprecipitated powders showed the highest surface area ($7.5m^2/g$) but strontium deficiency was found during washing and filtering in the process. The membrane with lower relative density was fabricated by citration method. On the other hand, solid state reacted powders had high relative density (95%), and mechanical properties showed superior properties. Especially, the composition of the solid-state reacted powders was relatively well-controlled.
