A new Rehmannia glutinosa cultivar ‘Tokang’ was derived from ‘Jihwang 1’ seedlings by medicinal crop breeding team of National Institute of Horticulture and Herbal Science, RDA in 2009. It has pink flower, dark brown seed coat, light yellow root cortex. The plant type was some rising from the ground. The content of catalpol and extract were higher than the ‘Jihwang 1’(check variety). The content of catalpol was 4.55% and the extract was 71.2%. It showed stronger resistance to root rot compare with the ‘Jihwang 1’. The regional yield trials were conducted at three different locations from 2007 to 2009. The average yield of ‘Tokang’ was 21.1ton/ha, which was 12% more than the ‘Jihwang 1’. This cultivar is adaptable to the whole of Korea except for mountain areas. (Registration No. 4725)

우리나라 더덕의 주 재배지인 전라남북도, 경상북도, 경기도, 강원도, 제주도, 울릉도 등 15지역 116개 재배포장을 대상으로 한 식물기생선충의 분포와 피해를 조사하였다. 분포가 확인된 9속의 선충 중 Ditylenchus citri, Meloidogyne hapla, M. incognita, Pratylenchus neglectus, Tylenchorynchus claytoni 등 5종이 동정되었다. 이들 중 M. hapla의 포장검출률이 61.9%로 가장 높았고, Tylenchu spp. 16.1%, Pratylenchus neglecrus 7.8%, Ditylenchus citri 5.1%, Helicotylenchus sp. 5.1%순이었다. 더덕 2년생을 대상으로 한 지역별 당근뿌리혹선충에 의한 피해는 포장감염률과 감염주율이 각각 67.0%, 60.2%였으며 평균 감수율은 10%였다. 전북지역 더덕 재배지에서 당근뿌리혹선충에 의한 피해는 재배년수가 길어질수록 많았고, 평야지가 산간지나 중산간지보다 많은 경향이었다. This study was conducted to survey plant-parasitic nematodes and their damages on Codonopsis lanceolata Trautv at 116 fields of 15 major cultivation areas in Korea. Among the 9 plant-parasitic nematode genera detected in the fields, Ditylenchus citri, Meloidogyne hapla, M. incognita, Pratylenchus neglectus, Tylenchorynchus clayton were identified. M. hapla Chitwood showing the highest field infection rate of 61.9% followed by Tylenchus spp. 16.1%, Pratylenchus neglectus 7.8%, Ditylenchus citri 5.1%, and Helicotylenchus sp. 5.1%. Average field infection rate of root-knot nematodes in 2-year-old C. lanceolata was 67.0%, and the average plant infection rate was 60.2%. The average yield decrease rate was 10%. The damage rate by the root-hot nematode increased as the cultivation year extended in Jeonbuk province, and the damage was also higher in flat land than in mountainous areas.

약초 유전자원의 다양한 정보를 통합적이고 효율적으로 관리하기 위하여 "약초 유전자원 종합관리 데이터베이스 프로그램"을 개발하였다. 프로그램은 관리자 전용 부분을 별도 관리할 수 있는 사용자 확인 보조프로그램과 기초/육종/생리/환경/이용·가공특성/병해충/저장/재배정보등 독립 입·출력 체계가 설정되어 있는 특성평가자료 관리프로그램과 화상정보자료로 구성되어 약초자원의 효율적인 종합관리체계가 가능하며 특성평가자료 관리프로그램의 부분적 독자운영이 가능하여 관심분야에 대한 집중관리도 가능하도록 하였다. The importance of genetic resources management is accentuated gradually. Through much period, many institute try to collect various genetic resources inside and outside of the country but they neglect making efficient preservation and management system. So systematically controling genetic resources is not defined well. To settle such problem, we develope the data management program for medicinal herbs genetic resources. This program consists of 8 sub evaluation program and contains 85 pieces of information for breeding, physiology, processing, environment, cultivation and so forth, and also can incorporate 10 picture images at least.
