According to the frequent use of mobile devices, risk of repetitive strain injury for the finger joints was increasing recently. The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of muscular endurance limit of the thumb between adults and children. A total of thirty subjects (15 adults: $41.0{\pm}7.9$ years and 15 children: $9.5{\pm}2.7$ years) was recruited for this experiment. Maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) of the thumb was measured for 100 trials for each subject by using a push-pull gauge. From the maximum peak value obtained, three main factors (MVC, endurance limit, and fatigue index) were defined to quantify fatigue characteristics of the thumb flexor muscle. The experimental results showed that the mean of MVC, endurance limit, and fatigue index of the children were approximately 50% compared to the adults (p < 0.001). From the results of Pearson correlation test, the endurance limit was highly correlated with weight, age, hand length rather than height. Based on this study, children are more vulnerable to repetitive task using the thumb such as text/SNS messaging, gaming, and scrolling.

The purpose of study is to investigate the correlation between the Lyapunov exponent (LE) and the displacement of the center of gravity (DCG) for clarifying walking stability on the treadmill. From fifteen young healthy subjects volunteered, lower extremity joint angles were recorded using a three-dimensional motion capture system and reflective markers. The anteroposterior DCG and the LE were calculated by a commercial software. A linear correlation between LE and DCG (p<0.05) showed that LEs compensated for walking distance on the treadmill walking. However, LEs were found to be independent of self-selected walking speeds by a negligible correlation between LE and the Froude number (p>0.05).

The isometric position of the anterior cruciate ligament was calculated during flexion-extension. Flexion-extension motion data of the knee joint were obtained by Fastrak, a three-dimensional motion measurement system. A subject was seated on a flat table and the tibia sensor position was measured with the femur fixed at the table. A three-dimensional knee model was constructed using a graphic tool to simulate the knee motion. Three surgical positions of the femoral tunnel were selected and the distances between the determined tibial tunnel and each femoral tunnel were calculated. The maximum elongation position was found to be in the ten thirty direction of clock.

The purpose of study was to evaluate effects for repetitive use of thumb according to two different input types (button and touch) of mobile phones. A total of eight young and healthy subjects (6 males and 2 females: $24.63{\pm}8.04$ years) volunteered, and force measurement on thumb using film type pressure sensor was carried out for an hour. Before the experiment De Quervain's syndrome test were performed to check the left and right muscles related with thumb motion and after measuring the pressing force fatigue feeling survey achieved. For a statistical analysis, 1-to-5 ranking scale was used to score the fatigue feeling. From the result of pressure measurement, forces acting on thumb in button type were 3.36 times (the right thumb) and 3.16 times (the left thumb) for the touch type. And the result of survey, fatigue by using the button type of mobile phone was largely triggered than by using touch type. The abductor pollicis brevis and the flexor pollicis brevis were found as common part of fatigue for repetitively using thumb during texting messages. In the further study, some quantitative fatigue comparisons for various input motions are required to analyze repetitive strain injury syndrome.
