The stack effect in high-rise buildings in winter causes many problems such as difficulties in opening or closing doors, infiltration, energy loss, noise and fire protection. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the nature of stack effect in high-rise residential buildings and investigate the reduction strategies with network simulation. The simulation has been conducted for 2 high-rise buildings under the construction which have 36, 37 stories above the ground level and 2 basement stories respectively by CONTAMW. An additional analysis for shaft cooling method is discussed with ESP-r simulation. In this paper, the results of pressure difference, the location of the neutral plane and air-flow between the spaces for analyzed cases will be presented. Further, the control method to minimize the stack effect will be discussed.

This study proposes a method of calculating the replacement cycle that can accurately inform the filter replacement time by reflecting the influence of the use environment in the correlation between the accumulated amount of filter dust and the air volume reduction through air volume detection through the differential pressure sensor. The differential pressure sensor is installed between the filter and the fan inside the air purifier to measure the air volume of the air purifier. The air volume was measured under the same conditions as the measurement case through the differential pressure sensor in the suction-type medium-sized fan tester. Through the comparison of the air volume detection method, it was confirmed that even with the differential pressure sensor installed in the product, it was possible to notify the filter status by accurately calculating the air volume with an error within 10%.
연돌효과 저감을 위한 엘리베이터 샤프트 냉각시스템 제어방법의 검토

Recently, buildings are becoming higher and more luxurious due to the increase of urban population and development of constructional technology. High-rise buildings have many benefits in terms of efficiency and environmental friendliness such as centralizing facilities to maximize convenience. However, high-rise buildings arouse a series of new problems such as stack effect. A high-rise building contains a lofty vertical shaft, and stack effect occurs because of pressure difference between the inside and outside. On this paper, the process of application for preventing stack effect in a high-rise office building which has 39 stories above the ground level and 5 basement stories in Korea by E/Y shaft cooling system is introduced, and the efficiency on the system will be discussed by field measurement and numerical simulation(CFD).

Indoor air pollution may occur due to various activities indoors. The distribution of indoor dust concentration is affected by pollution sources, outside air, and activities of occupants. Even in the same space, the distribution of contamination concentration by fine particles may vary depending on the location of the pollutant and the occupancy activity. In this study, we propose a method to control the cleanliness of the polluted location through the interlocking control of the air quality sensor and the air purifier using UWB communication. Using an air purifier capable of controlling the air volume and direction of the discharged air flow, a control method for controlling the clean air flow directed to the pollution source was proposed, and the cleaning effect at the location of the pollution was verified.

Recently, buildings are becoming higher due to the increase of urban population and development of constructional technology. Stack effect occurs some problems in high-rise building. Stack effect is mainly caused by temperature difference between the inside and outside, but the effect is varied by other components such as air tightness of building envelope, interior partitions, core system location, HVAC system. In this paper, characteristics of stack effect in open planed office are analyzed according to variation of wind speed and air tightness of envelope by network simulation, CONTAMW, for setting countermeasures for stack effect.
아세틴 촉매상에서 글리세롤로부터 디클로로프로판올의 직접 제조

아세틴 촉매상에서 글리세롤(바이오디젤 제조과정의 부산물)과 염화수소 가스로부터 무용매 상태로 디클로로프로판올(DCP)을 직접 제조하는 반응을 기상-액상 회분식 반응기에서 수행하였다. 이를 위해 균일계 아세틴 촉매로 아세틴 혼합물(acetin mixture)파 트리아세틴을 사용하였다. 아세틴 촉매의 활성을 동일한 반응 조건(11℃, 3 bar, 3시간)에서 수행된 무촉매 상태에서의 반응성과 비교하였다. 무촉매 반응에 비해 아세틴 촉매를 사용한 반응에서 글리세롤의 전환율은 3% 정도 증가하였으며 디클로로프로판올의 선택도는 50% 가량 증가하였다. 또한 아세틴 혼합물보다는 트리아세틴의 촉매활성이 2% 정도 우수한 것으로 나타났다. Solvent-free direct preparation of dichloropropanol (DCP) from glycerol (by-product of bio-diesel production) and hydrochloric acid gas was carried out over acetin catalyst in a gas-liquid batch reactor. For this purpose, acetin mixture and triacetin were used as a homogeneous acetin catalyst. Performance in the acetin-catalyzed reaction was compared to that in the non-catalytic reaction under the same reaction conditions (110℃ , 3 bar, 3 h). Conversion of glycerol in the acetin-catalyzed reactions was ca. 3% higher than that in the non-catalytic reaction, and selectivity for dichloropropanol in the acetin-catalyzed reactions was ca. 50% higher than that in the non-catalytic reaction. It was also revealed that the catalytic performance of triacetin was ca. 2% higher than that of acetic mixture.

In this study, the effect of HVAC system on stack-effect in high-rise building is analyzed. As an attenuation method for stack-effect, the architectural measures are generally used. However, the architectural measures have limits to settle down the problems coming from stack-effect. Therefore, the architectural measures should be considered side by side with HVAC system operation. In this paper, the influence of HVAC system operation on stack-effect will be analyzed with field measurement and network simulation.

In order to make optimal countermeasures on stack effect with related problems in high-rise buildings, it is essential to grasp the characteristics on distributions of pressure differences and air flow rates in buildings. Moreover, outdoor wind conditions are very important items which affect the characteristics of stack effect in buildings. In this study, the effect of the outdoor wind velocity and wind direction on stack effect in high-rise residential building were performed. From the results of this study, the characteristics of pressure difference and air flow rate in residential buildings are analyzed, compared with the characteristics of office building. And the changes in pressure difference and air flow rate caused by outdoor wind condition are reviewed. The results from this study will be used to make countermeasures which reduce stack effect and its problems in high-rise residential buildings.
