        초음파 조사에 의한 TCE 수용액의 분해반응 특성

        Trichloroethylene(TCE) was the most common and abundant pollutants in the refractory substances and this was difficult to be degradable by conventional methods. Therefore, a considerable interest has been devoted to developing new process where TCE can be easily decomposed. In this study, the series of ultrasonic irradiation for removal of TCE in aqueous solution has been selected as a model reaction in the batch reactor system in order to obtain the basic data investigate the influence of various experimental parameters such as pH, reaction temperature, and intensity. The products obtained from the ultrasonic irradiation were analysed by GC/MS and UV spectroscopy. The intermediates of ultrasonic irradiation of TCE was identified as Cl₂, HCl, Cl⁻, chloroform, dichloroethene, trichloroethane , and tetrachloroethane. After the ultrasonic irradiation of TCE con - taining aqueous solution for 20 min their pH s were decreased from 7.0 to 2.4 respectively. Further irradiation of this solution did not change their pH values. This can be attributed to the formation of HCl obtained by the reaction between H · radical and Cl⁻ which could be produced by the ultrasonic irradiation of water and reactants containing chlorine. Acidic solution showed a good capability in the degradation of TCE. In general, the rate of reaction is proportional to the reaction temperature obeying the Arrhenius law. However, in the ultrasonic irradiation, this suggests as the reaction temperature increase the decomposition rate of reactant decrease. This result meant that the increase of reaction temperature due to the increase of vapor pressure of water accelerated the decrease of acoustic intensity which was can be proportional to the decomposition rate of TCE solution. It was found that more than 80% of TCE solution was removed within 2 hours in all reaction conditions. The reaction order in the degradation of TCE solution was verified as the pseudo-first order. From the fore-mentioned results, it can be concluded that the refractory organic compounds could be removed by the ultrasonic irradiation with radicals, such as H · and OH · radical causing the high increase of pressure and temperature. Finally, it appeared that the technology using ultrasonic irradiation can be applied to the treatment of refractory substances which are difficult to be decomposed by the conventional methods.

        HPLC를 이용한 주방세제의 음이온 및 비이온 계면활성제 분석

        본 연구에서는 계면활성제 분석법의 개발을 위하여 High performance liquid chromatography-evaporative light scattering detection(HPLC-ELSD) 기기를 이용하여 음이온 및 비이온 계면활성제 중 다소비 계면활성제인 Alkyl polyglucoside(APG)와 Alpha olefin sulfonate(AOS)를 분석 하였다. 실험 결과 APG와 AOS 모두 직선성의 상관관계 계수(R2)가 0.99 이상으로 직선성이 양호하였으며, 검출한 계는 APG가 2.29 mg/L, AOS가 16.55 mg/L로 나타났고, 정량한계는 APG가 7.63 mg/L, AOS가 55.16 mg/L로 나타났다. 또한, 회수율 검증을 실시한 결과 APG는 99.29%, AOS는 96.11%로 나타나 회수율 100±10% 이내의 검증기준을 모두 만족하였다. 정밀성 및 정확성을 판단한 결과 APG의 정밀성은 상대표준편차 0.30%, 정확성은 0.26-0.52%로 분석되었으며, AOS의 정밀성은 상대표준편차 0.10%, 정확성은 0.01-0.52%로 분석되어 모두 상대표준편차 1.0% 이하의 검증기준에 적합하였다. 확립된 분석법을 주방세제에 적용하여 분석한 결과 샘플 3종 모두에서 APG와 AOS가 각각 검출되었으며, 표준사용량을 기준으로 APG, AOS의 평균 함유량은 각각의 LD50에 크게 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 확립된 음이온 및 비이온 계면활성제의 분석법은 모든 성분에 대해 감응함으로 한가지 검출기를 이용하여 여러성분을 동시에 측정할 수 있어 식기 등의 잔류물질 혹은 식품 중 혼입되어 있는 다양한 계면활성제 함유량 분석에 적용하여 계면활성제의 관리를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 본다. This study was carried out to develop an analysis method for the determination of anionic and nonionic surfactants. The condition for simultaneous analysis of anionic and nonionic surfactants by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipped with an evaporated light scattering detector (ELSD) was investigated. Alkyl polyglucoside (APG) and alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS) were analyzed on a C18-boned silica column with a methanol and water gradient condition by HPLC/ELSD. Calibration curves were linear in the range of 100-500 mg/L on APG and 500-4000 mg/L on AOS, with a coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.9999. The limits of detection (LOD) for APG and AOS were 2.29 and 16.55 mg/L, and the limits of quantification (LOQ) were 7.63 and 55.16 mg/L, respectively. The recoveries of the surfactants were 99.29% on APG and 96.11% on AOS. The established method provided acceptable precision and accuracy. Our methods would be useful for the detection of APG and AOS in dishwashing detergents.

        Validity risk assessment of Korean Hazardous Substances designated quantity-Based on Pool fire and VCE

        As the chemical industry develops, various chemicals are used in each country. In particular, flammable materials are used in various industries, but there is a possibility of chemical accidents such as fire explosions. The Korean act on the safety control of hazardous substances introduced the concept of designated quantity to provide safety management for workplaces handling flammable liquids. The validity of the designed quantity was evaluated by modeling and comparing the situation in which a fire or explosion accident occurs in chemical substances stored for each workplace. As a result, the designated quantity of 4th class petroleum needs to change from 6000 kg to 3400 kg, and for 3rd class petroleum from 4000 kg to 2200 kg. Through continuous research, the feasibility of the designated quantity should be evaluated to protect the national safety and the health of the people.

        THI에 의한 서울시 지하철 역사 근로자의 신체 및 심리적 증상에 관한 연구

        This paper reports an investigaion for the health status of subway workers in the 67 subway stations in the Seoul area during from September 15th to Nobimber 15th, 2002 . Prevalence of subuective complaints was surveyed of 400 subway workers applied by a general health questionnaire-the Todai Health index(THI). The basic tool employed in this present study was the THI which is modified Comell Medical Index(CMI) and was developed by Tokyo University Research Team in Japan, and had been used to evaluate manufacturing workers, iron workers and other workers by Kim(1979), Chung(1982), Lym(1987), Lee(1996) in Korea. The results were summarized as follows; 1. The physical and psychological complaints were much higher in the 20~29 age group than other age groups. 2. The physical and psychological complaints showed a high tendency of increased incidence in all items as length of service decreased, and the 3~5 years group was higher than less 1 year group with regard to the symptoms of Digestive(C), Aggressiveness(F), Nervousness(E). 3. The physical and psychological complaints showed much higher tendency in the station staff(S?S) group than other groups. 4. The physical and psychological complaints showed much higher tendency in the under station(Un.S) and upper station (Un.S) groups than other groups. 5. The responses of physical and psychological complaints by monthly pay showed much higher tendency in he income of 10.1~1.50 millions won group than other groups. 6. The responses of physical and psychological complaints by smoker or non-smoker showed much higher tendency in the smoker group than non-smoker group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the worker of subway studied was perceived as acceptable the importance of health status, and suggested that the goverment of related subway need to be effort to control the health of subway workers in environment of indoor.

      • 서울 북부지역의 생활폐기물 발생량 및 조성 분석

        This study was carried out to investigate on the generation and composition of municipal waste in north area of Seoul. The results was as follows: 1. The generation and composition of municipal waste was investigated foods> papers> glasses> plastics> metals(cans)> textiles> leaches> woods> ashes> rubbers> ceramics> leathers in residential area, that was investigated papers> foods> plastics> glasses(bottles)> textiles> metals> ashes> leaches> rubbers> ceramics> leathers in nonresidential area. 2. The recycling generation of municipal waste was investigated papers> glasses> plastics> metals> textiles> woods in residential and nonresidential areas. 3. The three components(water, combustion & ash) was analysed in each composition of municipal waste for the deciding treatment methods of waste in residential and nonresidential areas. The water component of each composition was analysed foods> papers> woods> textiles> rubbers > ashes in residential area, which analysed foods> papers> ashes> woods> textiles> rubbers in nonresidential area. The combustible component was analysed plastics> textiles> woods> rubbers>papers in residential and nonresidential area. The ash component was analysed nonferrous metals> ferrous metals> ceramics> ashes in residential area, that was analysed ceramics> ferrous metals> nonferrous metals> ashes in nonresidential area. Conclusively, in order to treat municipal waste the separated collection system should be systematically performed, the next improvable proposal of the detailed methods should be prepared.
