        Cost estimate system will be changed from the prime cost calculation to the historical cost data because the present system has some problems. In this situation, each owner should prepare his own cost estimate system based on the historical cost data. In this study, the standard work items were classified and the criteria of their work amount computation were established for rural improvement projects. And also the historical cost data were collected in all range of rural improvement projects, and the database system, "HICOMS" (HIstorical COst data Management System) was built. In order to test the applicability of the HICOMS, standard work cost and contractor cost were compared. The results by HICOMS showed high significance and it was concluded that the HICOMS could be applicable for the cost estimate of the rural improvement projects. projects.

        This study refers to the development of a hydrologic model simulating daily inflow and release rates for irrigation reservoirs. A daily - based model is needed for adequate operation of an irrigation reservoir sufficing the water demand for paddy fields which is closely related to meteorological conditions. And the objective or this study is to develop a Daily Irrigation Reservoir Operation Model(DIROM) combining the inflow and the release models which depicts the daily water level fluctuations of an irrigation reservoir, and to evaluate the applicability of the model. DIROM was applied to four reservoirs and daily water levels were simulated and compared to the observed data. The model behaviour was also compared with that of a ten - day based model, Reservoir Operation Study(ROS) which has been applied for determining the design capacity of reservoirs. Various combinations of measured and simulated inflow and release rates for tested reservoirs were used to define the daily water level fluctuations. Simulated release rates and measured inflow data resulted in larger errors, and simulated inflow and release rates produced the smallest errors in water level comparison. Two resevoir operation models, DIROM and ROS were applied to the same reservoir and the simulation results compared. The computational errors of DIROM ware smaller than those of ROS, and DIROM was more sensitive to meteorological conditions. DIROM demonstrated its potenial applicability in water management and operation.

        포공영 추출물의 항산화 효과 및 피부 각질세포 보호효과

        Objectives: This study was carried out to investigate anti-oxidative effects of Taraxaci Herba (TH) and protective effects on Human HaCaT keratinocyte. Methods: Anti-oxidative effects were measured by estimating the amount of total phenolics and flavonoids. In addition, DPPH free radical scavenging activities were estimated. Protective effects of TH on HaCaT keratinocytes against oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide were also measured. Results: In our results, treatment with TH did not show cytotoxicity on HaCaT keratinocyte beneath the concentration of 200 ㎍/㎖. 42.64±1.90 ㎍/㎖of total phenolics and 28.09±1.84 ㎍/㎖of flavonoids was detected from TH ethanol extract. In addition, DPPH free radical scavenging activities of TH were elevated in dose-dependent manner. In addition, The value of half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) was 165.5 ㎍/㎖. Finally, TH showed protective effect against cell death of HaCaT cell induced by hydrogen peroxide significantly. Conclusions: In conclusion, these results suggest that TH may have anti-oxidantic action in human skin and also suggest the possibility as cosmetic material.

      • 소아의 외상성 췌장 손상의 수술적 치료

        Debates exist about the appropriate treatment for pancreatic trauma in children. We intended to examine the safety of the operation of pancreatic trauma in children. This is a retrospective study of 13 patients, younger than 15, who underwent surgery for pancreatic trauma, between 1993 and 2011 in Seoul National University Children's Hospital. Medical records were reviewed for mechanism of trauma, clinical characteristics, radiological findings, operation and outcomes. Organ injury scaling from the AAST (American Association for Surgery of Trauma) was used. All injuries were caused by blunt trauma. Patients with grade III, IV, and those who were difficult to distinguish grade II from IV, underwent surgery due to severe peritonitis. Three patients with grade II were operated for reasons of mesenteric bleeding, tumor rupture of the pancreas, and progression of peritonitis. Distal pancreatectomy was performed in 10 patients and subtotal pancreatectomy and pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy in 1 patient each. The remaining one underwent surgical debridement because of severe adhesions. The location of injury, before and after operation, coincided in 83.3%. The degree of injury, before and after the operation, was identical in all the patients except for those who were difficult to tell apart grade II from grade IV, and those cannot be graded due to severe adhesion. Postoperative complications occurred in 23.1%, which improved with conservative treatment. Patients were discharged at mean postoperative 12(range 8~42) days. Even though patients with complications took longer in time from diagnosis to operation, time of trauma to operation and hospital stay, this difference was not significant. In conclusion, When pancreatic duct injury is present, or patient shows deterioration of clinical manifestation without evidence of definite duct injury, or trauma is accompanied by other organ injury or tumor rupture, operative management is advisable, and we believe it is a safe and feasible method of treatment.

        Primary liver tumors are uncommon in childhood, with a relative frequency of 3 % of all childhood tumors. Seventy-three cases of pediatric primary liver tumors operated on at single institution between 1986 and 2002 were reviewed. Malignant tumors included 37 cases of hepatoblastoma, 11 hepatocellular carcinomas, 6 undifferentiated (embryonal) sarcomas, and 1 mixed germ-cell tumor. Benign tumors constitute only 24.6 % of liver tumors, including 7 hemangioendotheliomas, 5 mesenchymal hamartomas, 3 congenital cysts, and one each with focal nodular hyperplasia and hemangioma. The common presenting clinical features were abdominal mass or abdominal distension. Anatomical hepatic resections were carried out in 38 cases, and nonanatomical resections in 34 cases. One patient died of a direct result of hepatic resection (1.4 %). The complication rate was 16.4 %.

        The automotive weather strip has functions for isolating of water, dust, noise and vibration from outside. To achieve good sealing performance, weather strip should be designed to have the high contact force and wide contact area. However, these design causes excessive permanent deformation of weather strip. The causes of permanent deformation is generally explained to be the chemical material detrioration and physical variation and cyclic loading, etc. This paper introduces a numerical method to predict the permanent deformation using the time dependent viscoelastic model which is represented by Prony series in ABAQUS. Uniaxial tension and creep tests were conducted to obtain the material data. And the lab. test for the permanent deformation was accelerated during shorter time, 300 hours. The permanent deformation of weather strip were successfully predicted under the different loading conditions and different section shapes using the suggested numerical process.

        프로피오닌산혈증은 propionyl-CoA carboxylase(PCC)의 결핍으로 인한 드문 상염색체 열성 유전 대사 질환이다. 이는 분지 아미노산 대사 장애로 혈장과 소변에서 프로피오닌산과 다른 대사 산물들의 축적되게 된다. 감염, 질병 혹은 스트레스 등 이화작용을 유발하는 스트레스적인 상황은 빈번하게 응급 혹은 입원 치료가 필요하며 심각한 경우에는 환자가 혼수나 사망에 이를 수도 있다. 하지만 이런 잦은 입원과 응급실 방문은 환자와 가족들에게 일상생활을 힘들게 하는 등 많은 스트레스가 된다. 이에 저자들은 프로피오닌산혈증 환자에게 중심정맥관을 유치하고 가정 간호를 통해 계획적으로 예방적인 수액 치료를 유지하여 급성 대사 위기로 인한 잦은 입원을 예방하였고 환자와 가족들의 부담을 줄이는데 기여할 수 있었다. 또한 이 환자에게서 확인된 돌연변이가 이전에 보고된 바 없는 새로운 돌연변이로 확인되어 이를 같이 보고하는 바다. Propionic acidemia (PA) is a rare autosomal recessive metabolic disease caused by the deficiency of propionyl-CoA carboxylase (PCC). PA affects the catabolism of branched chain amino acid and oddchain fatty acid then results in accumulation of propionic acid and other metabolites in plasma and urine. Catabolic stress such as infection, illness or any stress can precipitate cause acute metabolic decompensation, especially in the first years of life. Acute metabolic decompensation commonly calls for emergency treatment or admission and if the patient is in a serious condition, it can lead to coma or death. But frequent admissions or visiting the emergency room are much burden to the patients and their kins. And we experienced the propionic academia with a confirmed novel mutation and the patient suffered from frequent admission and visiting the emergency room. So, we tried the regular home carebased fluid therapy after securing a central venous line. Finally, we succeeded in preventing frequent admissions resulted from acute metabolic decompensation and could contribute to relieving the burden to the patient and their family.

        쑥부쟁이 추출물의 라디칼 소거활성 평가

        본 연구에서는 1.1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), hydroxyl radical (˙OH), 그리고 superoxide radical (O₂⁻) 소거능 실험을 통해 쑥부쟁이의 항산화 효과를 평가하였다. 쑥부쟁이는 에탄올로 추출한 뒤, n-hexane, methylene chloride (CH₂Cl₂), ethylacetate (EtOAc), 그리고 n-butanol (n-BuOH)로 분획하였다. DPPH 라디칼 소거능 실험에서 모든 추출 및 분획물이 10-100 ㎍/mL의 농도에서 농도 의존적으로 라디칼 소거능이 증가하였으며, 특히 EtOAc 분획물은 가장 강한 DPPH 라디칼 소거능을 나타내었다. 또한 쑥부쟁이는 50 ㎍/mL 농도에서 80% 이상의 ˙OH 라디칼 소거율을 보였다. 특히 EtOAc 분획물은 0.03 ㎍/mL에서 IC50 값을 나타내어 추출물과 분획물 중 가장 강한 ˙OH 라디칼 소거능을 보여주었다. 또한, EtOAc 분획물은 O₂⁻ 라디칼 소거능에서도 가장 강한 소거활성을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 쑥부쟁이가 산화스트레스로 인한 질병을 예방하는 천연 항산화제로서의 활용 가능성이 있음을 보여준다. In this study, we investigated the antioxidative effects of AY by measuring 1.1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), hydroxyl radical (˙OH), and superoxide radical (O₂⁻) scavenging activities in vitro. AY was extracted with ethanol and then partitioned with n-hexane, methylene chloride (CH₂Cl₂), ethylacetate (EtOAc) and n-butanol (n-BuOH). In the DPPH radical scavenging assay, AY at concentrations of 10 to 100 ㎍/mL dose-dependently increased inhibition of DPPH oxidation, with the EtOAc fraction of AY showing the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity fractions. The ˙OH radical scavenging activities of the extract and four fractions of AY increased by over 80% at a concentration of 50 ㎍/mL. In particular, the IC50 value of the EtOAc fraction was 0.03 ㎍/mL, which was the lowest value among all fractions. We also found that the EtOAc fraction of AY was better at O₂⁻ radical scavenging than other fractions. Taken together, these results suggest that AY, especially the EtOAc fraction, can be used as a natural antioxidant against free radicals.

        통심락(通心絡)이 고지방식이로 유도된 이상지질혈증 생쥐의 체내 지질 변화에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the effects of Tong Xin Lou (TXL) on lipid accumulation in liver tissue in Hypercholesterolemic mice. TXL is new drug, which is one of Cardiotonic Pills. TXL is used for activating the blood flow in the restoration stage of cerebral infarction, and for alleviation of angina pectoris including the symptoms as chest oppressed and stabbing pain. Methods: Hyperlipidemia was induced by providing high fat diet for 6 weeks. Normal group was provided with normal rodent diet. TXL was administered orally in the concentration of 10 ㎎/day for 2 weeks (TXL group). D/W was administered orally in CTL group for 2 weeks. We observed histopathological changes in liver and heart tissues, and also investigated the effect on body weights, and levels of total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride in serum. Results: In this study, TXL did not affects weight gain in hypercholesterolemic mice, TXL group showed downward tendency of lipid accumulation compared with CTL group. In addition, oral administration of TXL lowered levels of total cholesterol (P < 0.05) and triglyceride (P < 0.05), which were elevated by induction of hypercholesterolemia. Conclusion: These results suggest that TXL can prevent lipid accumulation in liver tissue through regulation of dyslipidemia.
