Recent developments such as concern over global warming, depletion of fossil fuels and increase in energy demands by the increasing world population has eventually lead to mass production of electricity using renewable sources. Apart from wind and solar, ocean holds tremendous amount of untapped energy in forms such as geothermal vents, tides and waves. The current study looks at generating power using waves and the focus is on the primary energy conversion (first stage conversion) of incoming waves for different models. Observation of flow characteristics and the velocity in the augmentation channel as well as the front guide nozzle are presented in the paper. A numerical wave tank was used to simulate the waves and after obtaining the desired wave properties; the augmentation channel plus the front guide nozzle and rear chamber were integrated to the numerical wave tank. The waves in the numerical wave tank were generated by a piston type wave maker which was located at the wave tank inlet. The inlet which was modeled as a plate wall moved sinusoidally with the general function, x=asinomegat The augmentation channel consisted of a front nozzle, rear nozzle and an internal fluid region representing the turbine housing. The analysis was performed using the commercial CFD code ANSYS-CFX.

Newly developed direct drive hydro turbine (DDT) for wave energy converter is suggested in this study. The performance of the turbine model is investigated experimentally with the variation of the wave height in a 2-D wave tank. The results show that the performance of the turbine varies considerably by the wave height. The static pressure and flow rate at the turbine front nozzle as well as the rotational speed of the runner change remarkably by the wave height.

Clean and renewable energy technologies using ocean energy give us non-polluting alternatives to fossil and nuclear-fueled power plants to meet establishment of countermeasures against the global warming and growing demand for electrical energy. Among the ocean energy resources, wave power takes a growing interest because of its enormous amount of potential energy in the world. Therefore, various types of wave power system to capture the energy of ocean waves have been developed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the internal flow and performance characteristics of an cross-flow hydraulic turbine with axisymmetric nozzle shapes. Numerical simulation using a commercial CFD code is conducted to clarify the effects of the turbine rotation speed and flow rate variation on the turbine characteristics. The results show that the output power of the cross flow hydraulic turbine with axisymmetric nozzle shape is obtained mainly from static pressure at Stage 1 and absolute tangential velocity at Stage 2. In addition, nozzle shape should be decided in consideration of the average wave height of the expected installation site.

The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean language teachers’ and Chinese speaking students’ perception about the necessity, frequency, timing, type, delivering agent, and method of error treatment through questionnaires, and based on the findings, to suggest some potential suggestions to treat spoken errors in Korean language oral communication classes. A total of 151 students from two universities in Busan and 67 teachers from 7 universities in Busan and Seoul completed 24-item survey. The results revealed that there is the mismatch between teachers and students perception about the effectiveness of error spoken error treatment in Korean language classroom; (1) students preferred their spoken errors to be treated strongly, (2) preferred to receive error treatment more frequently than their teachers expected, and (3) the best time to treat spoken errors is after they speaks. In addition, (4) students expected to be treated their all kinds of errors, especially frequent errors. But (5) in terms of the delivering agent of error treatment, teachers and students both regarded teachers as the appropriate people to treat errors. And finally (6) students expected to treat their errors via explicit feedback and recast, but teachers expected to treat students’ errors via implicit feedback, elicitation and repetition. The overall findings indicate that Chinese speaking students have more positive and strong perception to error treatment than their teachers’.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of extensive reading in KFL settings. For this, we prepared 13 Korean Graded Readers and carried out extensive reading program during 13 weeks in a Japanese university. After 13 weeks-extensive reading program, we compared the gains differences between ER group and control group. The result of reading speed task showed that the ER group`s reading rate became faster than that of control group, but as for C-test, there was no statistically significant difference between two group>. The quantitative am qualitative analyses of questionnaire about ER program and its effects suggested that ER program can affect students` attitude toward reading behavior positively, but it is appeared not enough to induce motivation on learning Korean.

This study investigates the aspects of vocabularies used in Korean textbooks in Japan(JP) from corpus-based perspectives and suggests ideas for future directions in developing textbooks. To attain this goal, this study compares JP with 4 reference corpora(spoken, soft opera and textbooks in Korea[KR]), regarding to token & type frequence, lexical richness, and coverage of Korean fundamental vocabulary list. The results show that a) JP’s token frequency is 1.3 times as large as KR, but the type vice versa; b) JP``s lexical richness is richer than that of KR; and c) the frequence distribution of the part of speech in JP is the order of noun-verb- adjective-adverb, which is the same with KR, but different from other corpora, especially in terms of adverb, pronoun and interjection; d) concerning the coverage of fundamental vocabulary, JP covered 59.4% of the list; e) the over-represented words are noun(63.5%), and these have tendency to be related to the specific semantic fields. From these results, I suggest that textbook developers are better to refer to frequency information in a natural language, instead of relying on their intuition only.

Wave power generation is getting into the spotlight by one future important substitute energy by clean & pure energy. In this paper, analyzed performance for new cross-flow hydraulic turbine that use wave energy using the commercial CFD code. The cross-flow hydraulic turbine in respect of oscillating flow applied in this paper was designed by suitable structure in wave power generation to rotate to direction that is equal about round trip kind. Used ANSYS CFX that is commercial CFD code for CFD analysis, and examined performance of cross-flow hydraulic turbine by head, flux, number of rotation detailedly.
