        This study aimed at investigating the validity and reliability of the Daegu Diagnostic Aphasia Examination (DDAE). The DDAE has been developed to assess aphasics' receptive and expressive language ability. One hundred and forty eight aphasics (96 males and 52 females) diagnosed as aphasics participated in this study. Reliability coefficients showed that the DDAE was highly consistent and accurate (Cronbach's a = .76$\sim$.82). For its' content-validity, a 5-point scale was administered. Four speech and language pathologists served as evaluator. The receptive language mean score was 4.29, the expressive language mean score was 4.09, and the right-hemisphere function mean score was 4.00. For construct validity, the correlation total scores were calculated. The results showed a significant correlation.

        좌측 전두엽 손상자의 화행이해능력 특성 및 화행이해능력과 실행기능의 상관

        본 연구는 좌측 전두엽 손상자(Individual with Left Frontal Lobe Injury, ILFLI)의 화행이해능력을 평가하고 화행이 해능력과 실행기능 간의 상관을 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 ILFLI집단 18명과 정상 성인집단 18명으로 하였으며, 이들에게 화행 이해능력검사와 Kims 전두엽-실행기능 검사 중 EXIT를 실시하여 화행이해능력과 EIQ를 측정하였다. 연구결과 ILFLI가 정 상성인 보다 화행이해능력과 실행기능이 낮게 나타났으며, ILFLI의 화행이해능력과 실행기능 간에는 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 ILFLI는 화행이해능력에 손상이 있으며, 이를 향상시키기 위해서는 전통적인 언어치료 접근법과 더불어 실행기능을 향상시키기 위한 프로그램이 함께 이루어져야 함을 제언하는 바이다. Individuals with a left frontal brain injury show significant impairments in their speech ability. The aims of the present study were (1) to assess and compare the ability of speech acts comprehension and executive function between individuals with a left frontal brain injury and normal individuals, and (2) to investigate the correlation of speech act comprehension ability factors. The study's subjects were 18 individuals with a left frontal brain injury and 18 normal control adults of the same age, gender, and educational age. The following results were obtained. First, the group of individuals with a left frontal brain injury had lower speech act comprehension, executive function than the normal control group. Second, the speech act comprehension ability of the individuals with a left frontal brain injury showed a high correlation with the executive function.

        알츠하이머 치매 환자의 의미이해능력 비교

        Purpose: It is well-known that Alzheimer’s disease (AD) damages speech and cognitive ability, and certain specificimpairments in the semantic category have been reported. These impairments appears within a part of speech and between parts of speech such as nouns or verbs. This study investigated the semantic comprehension ability of AD patients.Methods: Fifteen AD patients with dementia, measured moderate or less by the results of the K-MMSE, and fifteenhealthy senior citizens took a picture-based perceptual ability test. The test consisted of ten questions in total, with verbs representing physical movement and adjectives describing human’s emotions and objects’s qualities. Each question comprised three words, which were depicted by a line-drawing. The three words in each test board were randomly arranged for the participants to point out. The total score from ten questions was analyzed to compare thecategory-specific comprehension ability of both the AD patients and the healthy elders. In addition, the researcherscarefully examined differences in comprehension ability according to semantic category. Results: First, the AD patients’ ability was significantly lower than that of the healthy elders. Second, in the AD patients' group, their understanding of verbs was significantly higher than their understanding of adjectives. Conclusions: The AD group's implicit memory, which was relatively unimpaired, assisted the AD patients to understand verbs. Simultaneously, their physical movements were represented in their brains as objects and so their nonverbal implicit memory helped to recover their physical movement.

        마비말장애 화자의 말명료도와 말용인도 평가를 위한 청자 집단 간 청지각 능력 비교

        Purpose: Speech intelligibility and acceptability was a one of the most common dysarthric speech evaluated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of listener group and speech rate on speech intelligibility and acceptability in individuals with dysarthria. Methods: Twenty speech language pathologists and 20 naive listeners participated in the study.The professional group was composed of speech language pathologists with more than three years of experience treating dysarthria. The non-professional group was composed of university students with no speech language therapy experience or auditory training. Ten speakers with mild dysarthria were controlling the speech rate when reading a passage 'rabbit, rabbit' from BASA. Their speech was recorded. The speakers was read the passage repeated three times with different speech rates. The recorded samples were given at random to the listener to hear amd evaluated for intelligibility and acceptability.The perceptual judgement was made using an 10cm visual analog scale to evaluate speech intelligibility and acceptability.Results: (1) The score by the professional group was significantly higher than the non-professional group in speechintelligibility (2) The score by the professional group was significantly higher than the non-professional group in speech acceptability. Conclusions: The professional group was familiar with and are trained in dysarthric speech. For the non-professional groups it is difficult to understand because they are unfamiliar with dysarthric speech.

        마비말장애 화자의 말 속도에 따른 말 명료도 및 말 용인도

        The propose of this study was to discover the midpoint between speech acceptability and speech intelligibility according to changes in speech rate. Ten subjects with mild dysarthira read a passage entitled, “rabbit, rabbit.” These readings were recorded and evaluated for acceptability and speech intelligibility by five speech-language pathologists. The evaluation considered both speech rate and pause frequency. The results showed that speech acceptability and speech intelligibility improved as rate increased. More specifically, speech acceptability improved as rate increased, but speech intelligibility was unchanged across speech rate changes.

        학년에 따른 학령기 다문화가정아동과 일반가정아동의 생성이름대기 특성 비교

        본 연구의 목적은 생성이름대기를 사용하여 학령기 다문화가정 아동의 언어발달 특성을 조사하고, 일반가정 아동의 언어발달과 비교한 뒤, 학년간의 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울시에 거주하는 다문화가정의 초등학생 1학년부터 5학년까지 총 29명(여자: 22명, 남자: 7명)으로 하였다. 비교집단의 일반가정 아동은 같은 초등학교에 다니고 있는 아동으로 총 33명(여자: 27명, 남자: 6명)으로 하였다. 동물과 가게물건 의미범주 생성이름대기와 /ㄱ/와 /ㅅ/ 음소범주 생성이름대기를 실시하여, 산출수와 군집수, 전환수를 측정하였다. 결과는 생성이름대기 산출수, 군집수, 전환수에서 다문화가정 아동과 일반가정 아동의 학년간 차이가 유의미하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics in generative naming and to compare the school-aged children of multi-cultural family and Ordinary family, and across the academic years. The participated children were 29(girl:22, boy:7) children multi-cultural family and 33(girl:27,boy:6) children of ordinary family, with the semantic of animal and goods in store, and the phonetic of /ㄱ/ and /ㅅ/. On the generative naming of semantic and phonetic, we take a look at the number of words, number of clusters, and number of switches. The following results were obtained: 1. From generative naming of semantic, and phonetic, the number of words, the number of clusters, and number of switches were noticeably less in children of multicultural family than children of ordinary family 2. From generative naming of semantic, and phonetic, the number of words, the number of clusters, and number of switches significantly different between 5 academic age groups in children of ordinary family, but multi-cultural family.

        실어증자의 언어능력과 실어증 유형에 따른 언어적, 행동적인 사회적 상호작용 시도 능력

        Aphasic patients show significant impairment in their social interaction attempt ability. The aims of the present study were (1) to assess and to compare the ability of social interaction attempt between group of aphasia (2) to investigate the correlation of language ability and social interaction attempt ability. The following results were obtained. First, social interaction attempt ability among five aphasia groups showd signigicant difference. Second, The social interaction attempt showed a high correlation to language ability with aphasic patients.
