Prompted by the finding that the radiological incidence of small bowel ascariasis in the patient with gastric carcinoma was unexpectedly ower than the incidence in the normal population, a clinical study was performed to investigate possible relationship between gastric carcinoma and intestinal ascariasis. As a preliminary survey, we reviewed the radiological incidence of ascariasis in a total of 2,446 cases of upper GI series performed at the Dept. of radiology, St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Medical College,. These included 1,573 normal subjects, 146 gastric carinoma patients, 100 benign gastric ulcer and 249 duodenal ulcer patients and 378 other upper GI diseases. Following the preliminary study, a more accurate parasitologic study was conducted in another 578 normal subjects and 51 gastric carcinoma patients.
The left sided gallbladder, being a rare occurrence, may create diagnostic problem especially when it becomes infected. Recently, we have experienced 2 cases of infection of the left sided gallbladder at the Dept. of Radiology, St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Medical College. Case I was a 32-year-old housewife with dyspepsia, epigastric pain and recurring bouts of high fever of 2 months duration. Case II was a 38-year-old business man admitted to the hospital because of tender ill defined mass in mid epigastrium. The patient was febrile and anemic. An upper GI series disclosed an irregular filling defect involving the antrum of the stomach. The mass was primarily extrinsic but was closely fixed to the gastric wall.
The input devices like keyboard and mouse are not well suited for the ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we implement the new input device recognized the human motion. This device is based on wireless sensors and wireless mote devices. Based on the experimental result, we show that the new input device is one of the prosperous input devices in next ubiquitous world.
