객체 추출과 해마 신경망을 이용한 필기체 숫자 인식 시스템 구현

This paper presents the handwritten numerals recognition system by objects extraction and hippocampal neural network. Objects are extracted by single colorizing algorithm and CSB(Color and Spatial based Binary) tree map algorithm to extract character region. Single colorizing algorithm reduces dimensions of the color feature space. CSB tree map algorithm is binary tree structure, and it decides the appropriate number of the groups to extract optimal objects. Features about each character are extracted by proposed algorithm after processing thinning algorithm at each extracted character region. They are learned by the hippocampal neural network using the interplay between the Cortex and the Hippocampus. Through experiments, the proposed recognition system presents high performance at about 2% than the existing techniques.

Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (Labiatae) has been extensively used in treatment of diarrhea, conjunctivitis, gastritis, enteritis and skin disease. As instructed in old description, the Scutellariae Radix should sometimes be processed before use. To shed light on the changes of chemical compositions by processing as well as processing method-activity relationships, Scutellariae Radix was heated at 160oC-200oC for 30 min. in furnace or soaked with 20% EtOH (SPE) and boy`s urine(SPU), respectively, which are one of processing methods and then heated at 170oC for 30 min. To isolate the chemical components, Scutellariae Radix with/without processing were extracted with EtOH and EtOH exbract was fractionated with ether, ethyl acetate and butanol to give respective fractions. Ether and EtOAc fractions obtained from the processed drug with urine (SPU) were subjected to chromatography to obtain six components, oroxylin A, wogonin, chrysin, baicalein, baicalein 7-0-beta-D-gucopyranoside and beta-si-tosterol 3-0-beta-D-gucopyranoside. All the isolated compounds were identified by means of physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods (IR 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Mass). By HPLC determination, the changes of the contents for each isolated components from SPE and SPU samples were observed. It was found that the content of nonglyecosidic flavones such as oroxylin A, wogonin, chrysin and baicalein was increased markedly, whereas the content of baicalin and baicalein 7-O-beta-D-glu-copyranoside was signaficantly decreased in both samples as compared with those of Scutellariae Ra-dix. When the sample was soaked with boy`s urine, the total amount of nonglycosidic flavones was higher than that of processing with 20% EtOH.

가장 최근의 동영상 압축 표준인 H.264/AVC는 다양한 방식의 기술을 채택하면서 압축 효율의 개선에 많은 발전을 가져왔다. 그러나 각 방식들의 복잡도가 상당히 커졌기 때문에 엄청난 계산량과 시간을 요구한다. H.264/AVC 비디오 표준의 중요한 두 가지 특징은 높은 부호화 효율과 네트워크 친화성이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 특징은 표준을 구현 시 많은 메모리와 연산의 복잡도가 커지게 하여 실시간 응용에 적용하는데 어려움을 초래하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC 부호화기에서 연산량을 가장 많이 차지하는 부분 중에 하나인 움직임 추정 부분을 개선하기 위한 방법으로 각 블록의 화소들에 대한 영역합을 사용한 움직임 추정 알고리즘을 제안한다. H.264/AVC, the most recent image compression standard, shows the improvement of the compression efficiency by using various up to date techniques. But this standard needs much computation because of high complexity. Two main features of H.264/AVC standard are the high coding efficiency and network friendliness. In this paper, we propose a motion estimation algorithm using region sum of pels of block to improve the motion estimation part in H.264/AVC.
장면 전환 기법을 이용한 동영상 검색 시스템의 하드웨어 구현

멀티미디어 정보는 다매체, 다특징, 다표현, 대용량성의 특징과 함께 그 양 또한 급속도로 증가하고 있다. 따라서 급격히 늘어난 방대한 정보로부터 필요한 정보를 검색하는 검색 시스템이 요구되고 있으며, 이러한 색인 및 검색 시스템이 실시간으로 처리되는 것이 필요하다. 동영상의 내용 기반 검색을 위하여 가장 일반적으로 사용할 수 있는 정보는 영상정보이다. 영상정보는 주로 비디오를 장면 분할할 때에 사용되며 이를 통하여 구조적인 비디오 브라우징을 할 수 있다. 비디오를 샷으로 구분하는 작업을 비디오 분할(video segmentation)이라고 하며, 비디오 분할을 위해 장면의 전환점인 컷을 검출하는 작업을 컷 검출(cut detection)이라고 한다. 본 연구에서는 MPEG-7 시각 기술자인 HMMD 컬러 모델과 에지 히스토그램 기술자를 사용하여 동영상 분할을 하였다. HMMD 컬러 공간은 다른 공간에 비해 인간의 색 지각에 매우 밀접한 것으로 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 검색 시스템을 하드웨어로 구현하였다. The multimedia that is characterized by multi-media, multi-features, multi-representations, huge volume, and varieties, is rapidly spreading out due to the increasing of application domains. Thus, it is urgently needed to develop a multimedia information system that can retrieve the needed information rapidly and accurately from the huge amount of multimedia data. For the content-based retrieval of moving picture, picture information is generally used. It is generally used when video is segmented. Through that, it can be a structural video browsing. The tasking that divides video to shot is called video segmentation, and detecting the cut for video segmentation is called cut detection. The goal of this paper is to divide moving picture using HMMD(Hue-Max-Min-Diff) color model and edge histogram descriptor among the MPEG-7 visual descriptors. HMMD color model is more familiar to human's perception than the other color spaces. Finally, the proposed retrieval system is implemented as hardware.

Two main features of H.264/AVC standard are the high coding efficiency and the high network friendliness. These features can cause the difficulties to apply to the real-time applications when we implement the H.264/AVC standard because of requiring large memory capacity and increasement of complexity. Although, motion estimation with multiple reference frames can make the high compression performance, it requires considerable computational complexity due to the SAD(Sum of Absolute Difference) about all possible block combinations to find the most optimistic motion vector. In this paper, we designed a high speed motion estimator using region sum to reduce the computational complexity. Through experiments, the proposed algorithm is superior to the existing algorithms.

난소점액낭종파열과 충수점액낭종을 동반한 복막위점액종 1 례 Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a rare condition that develops following rupture of a mucocele of the appendix or the ovary. Early diagnosis and aggresive surgery offer the best chance for survial of the patient. We experienced a very interesting case of pseudomyxoma peritonei associated with ruptured mucinous cystadenoma of the left ovary and mucocele of the appendix forming isolated mucocele pocket which adherented to the right corner of the uterus. a case of Pseudomyxoma peritonei is reported with a brief review of the concerned literatures.
