Pheochromocytoma, a catecholamine-producing tumor of the chromaffin tissue, may present with various features. Herein, we report case of 66-year-old woman with pheochromocytoma accompanying hyperamylasemia and acute abdomen. She was admitted to another hospital due to myocardial infarction 5 months ago. At that time, pheochromocytoma was suggested on the basis of hormonal studies, but she refused surgical resection. When she came to our hospital, serum amylase level was 703 U/L. Subsequent studies revealed pancreatic type isoenzyme, and elevated lipase level. After normalization of serum amylase level, she undertook laparoscopic adrenalectomy. On pathologic examination, pheochromocytoma was confirmed. There are several cases of pheochromocytoma with hyperamylasemia. In general, the source of hyperamylasemia was thought to be pulmonary endothelial cells under ischemic damage caused by potent vasoconstrictive action of circulating catecholamines. In our case, analysis of isoenzymes and serum lipase level suggest that hyperamylasemia can originate from the pancreas. Thus, pancreatitis also should be considered when serum amylase level is elevated in pheochromocytoma. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2003;42:172-175)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the college student`s perception of early childhood physical education. Their thoughts about objectives of children`s physical activity, children`s physical activity, body control movement, non-locomotor movement, locomotor movement, coordinative movement, physical activity using sporting goods, and sporting goods were investigated. The implication of the results of this study is to activate in early childhood physical education class in college like this: body flexibility in objectives of children`s physical activity, awareness of body parts in children`s physical activity, non-locomotor movement in body control movement, twisting in non-locomotor movement, sliding in locomotor movement, kicking in coordinative movement, awareness of methods to use sporting goods in physical activity using sporting goods, and tires in sporting goods.

This study researched the forest kindergartens in German as an alternative of movement education. To draw an implication from forest kindergartens to our movement education, the theories of forest kindergartens and the movement education in German, especially Freiburg forest kindergarten, as a model of movement education were researched. Also this study investigated the forest kindergarten of Switzerland and Japan, and our country too.

This study investigates young children`s perception of the functions of writing. Forty kindergarten children aged four and five years olds responded to videotaped vignettes depicting people writing in community settings. The children answered questions regarding what people write, where they write, and why they write. And the children`s concepts of general purpose of writing and their understandings of value of writing were analyzed. The results of this study show that children` knowledge of functions of writing is a part of the process of writing development, and that young children construct important knowledge about the nature and function of writing in their daily lives. The educational implications of writing activities are also discussed.

본 연구의 목적은 과학기술을 주제로 하고 있는 그림이야기책을 통해, 미래사회의 주인공이 될 아동들을 교육함에 있어 기술적 세계관에 대한 비판의식을 갖고 과학기술에 대한 올바른 가치관을 갖도록 하자는 것을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 내용을 다루었다. 먼저 과학기술의 개념과 과학기술이 유아교육에 주는 영향을 살펴보고, 과학기술과 아동문학의 관련성(도구로서의 과학기술 및 내용으로서의 과학기술)을 분석한 후, 그림이야기책에 나타난 내용으로서의 과학기술의 양상을 알아보고 교육에의 시사점을 제시하기 위해 과학기술을 주제로 하고 있는 작품들을 소개하고 분석하였다. The purpose of this study is to suggest that educators make children understand the characteristics of the technology in modern society, through the picture story books. The children need to criticise the negative effects of the technology on our lives and rethink the value of the human being. For the purpose of this study, definition and characteristics of the technology, and its effects on early childhood education were discussed. And how to connect the picture story books, and the technology as tools and as contents(themes) of the picture story books was also analyzed. Finally seven picture story books whose theme was about technology were examined and analyzed, and their educational implications also discussed.

유치원과 어린이집에 다니는 만 5세반 학급의 5, 6세 유아들 75명을 대상으로 글쓰기에 대한 동기, 글쓰기에 대한 효능감, 글쓰기 장르에 대한 인식, 독자에 대한 인식과 관련된 질문을 통해 글쓰기에 대한 유아들의 개념을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 글쓰기에 대한 유아들의 선호와 글쓰기를 할 때의 유아들의 느낌에 대해 70%정도의 유아들이 긍정적이었으며 30%정도의 유아들은 부정적이었다. 글쓰기를 할 때 부정적인 정서를 갖고 있는 유아들은 그 이유를 신체적으로 힘들기 때문이라고 하였다. 글쓰기의 목적에 대해 많은 수의 유아들은 공부와 글씨 학습을 하기 위해서 라는 생각을 갖고 있었다. 필자로서 유아자신에 대해서는 70%정도의 유아들이 긍정적인 효능감을 갖고 있었으며, 그 이유로는 자신이 글씨 자체를 잘 쓰기 때문으로 인식하고 있었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 유아들은 일반적으로 좋은 글을 쓸려면 좋은 내용을 써야한다는 생각을 가장 많이 하고 있었다. 또한 유아들이 가장 선호하는 글쓰기 장르는 기능적(functional) 쓰기와 서사문(narrative) 쓰기였으며 실제적으로 가장 많이 쓴 장르는 서사문(narrative) 쓰기와 시(poetry) 쓰기였다. 그리고 유아자신이 쓴 글을 읽을 독자에 대해서 70%정도의 유아들이 타인을 독자로 인식하고 있었으며, 30%정도의 유아들은 자신을 독자로 생각하고 있었다. 따라서 유아들의 글쓰기에 대한 동기와 효능감 및 독자에 대한 인식을 높이고 다양한 장르에서의 글쓰기 활동을 권고하는 교육적 제언이 함께 제시되었다. This study investigate the children`s concepts about writing. The subjects were 75 children aged five and six years olds in a kindergarten and a child care center. They were interviewed about personal preference and feeling about writing, young writer`s efficacy, writing genres, and perception about audience. The results of this study reveals that 70% of children showed positive thinking, and 30% of children showed negative thinking about personal preference and feeling about writing, writer`s efficacy. And 30% of children consider themselves as audience of their writing, and 70% of children think their parents, friends, teachers and brother and sister as audience of their writing. Also the results of this study indicates that children favorite genres were the functional writing and the narrative writing. The educational implications were discussed according to the results of this study like this. Teachers should establish teaching strategies to motivate children`s positive feeling and disposition, to enhance young writer`s efficacy, to write in various genres, and to consider audience in different writing genres.

This study aimed at searching for the historicity of crane dance based on the creation origin of Korean crane dance. For this purpose, documents such as related to crane dance, analyzed and Seong-soo Kim, who is a crane dance researcher, interviewed. As a result of this study, it found that Korean crane dance originated from tales of the three-kingdom period. The results are as follows. First, Ulsan crane dance among crane dance of Ackhakquebeum and folk crane dance is assumed to stem from『Gyeongsangdo Jiriji』Ulsangun Jo Gyebyunchunshin tale. Two cranes appear in the dance, which corresponds with a pair of crane of Gyebyunchunshin tale and both religious thought was Buddhism. Second, the crane Jakbeop and Yangsan crane dance originated from『Samguksagi』Daesanoryuseongjung Jo, the originative tale of Odaesan Woljeongsa. The five cranes appear as the manifestation of Buddha in the originative tale of Odaesan Woljeongsa in order to edify mankind. The study Above, Korean crane dance is presumed to stem from Gyebyunchunshin tale and the originative tale of Odaesan Woljeongsa of the three-kingdom period, not from Takpalwe Yeonhwadae Pasang tale, which explains it is derived from the outside of Korea.

본 연구는 유아교육현장에서 포토그라피의 예술적 표현 가능성을 실제적으로 실험하기 이전의 사전 이론 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 이론적 탐색으로 시각적 사고와 포토그라피의 관련성을 살펴보았으며, 어린이를 위한 포토그라피 활용 연구들을 분석함으로써 어린이들에게 포토그라피는 어떠한 의미가 있는지를 알아보았다. 마지막으로 유아대상 포토그라피의 현장 적용 가능성을 논의하였다. 본 연구의 제언은 다음과 같다. 어린이들에게 창의적인 예술적 잠재능력을 키워주기 위해서는 어린이들을 시각적 방법으로 행동함으로써 표현양식이 증진되도록 해야 하며, 유아교육현장에서 포토그라피를 접목시킬 때 사진의 표현과 감상을 균형있게 다루어야 할 필요가 있으며, 유아들에게 내러티브가 있는 보도사진의 기능을 갖는 것부터 시작하여 점차 예술사진으로 접근할 필요가 있다. This study explored the possibility of artistic expression of photography in early childhood settings. So the relation between visual thinking and photography was discussed, the studies which used photography for children and the meaning of photography to children was analyzed, and the possibility of artistic expression of photography for young children were also discussed. This study suggested not only the expression but also the appreciation of photography in early childhood settings. And this study also suggested that if the early childhood teachers use the photography, they must allow the children take the pictures of their daily lives first and then photojournalism can be used next, and then finally art photography can be adopted.
