Light flickering is caused by the degradation of power quality in electric train and can be measured by electronic illuminometer. This paper has shown the relations between voltage variations and illumination of lamps which has two kinds of incandescent lamp and 3-wavelength fluorescent lamp.

The running of the electric train are done by powering, breaking and coasting. Powering to start and accelerate the rolling stock means driving the three-phase electric induction motors controlled by VVVF inverters which are connected to overhead power line directly (DC) or indirectly(AC, DC/AC). Breaking is achieved by blending control which is the proportional combination between regenerative breaking of VVVF inverter and air pressure control of breaking operating unit(BOU). Therefore, Data obtained during two operation are very important items to evaluate the running performance of RS. This paper has investigated in real time data acquired from VVVF inverter and measured by pressure sensor directly connected to air breaking line(motor car and trailer car). By analyzing data in the region of time and frequency, fundamental methods for eavaluating the running performance of RS quantitatively and objectively have been suggested.
Smoothing 기법을 이용한 속도신호의 노이즈제거 및 가속도 추정

The velocity of train which is measured from pulse generator attached to TM is used for displaying or control signal of inverter and so on. Measured signals increase and decrease step-by-step by pulse counting or monotonously by F/V conversion. But noises and signal distortions by measuring error like alias make it difficult to provide correct velocity infomation and estimate the acceleration. In this paper, we investigated the performance of Smoothing method for suppressing the noises in velocity signals. And the difference between Smoothed signal and origin velocity signals is inspected and the comparison with low pass filtering show applicable of Smoothing method for noise rejection and the estimation of signal. Finally, acceleration curves estimated from Smoothing method are compared with real accelerator signal attached to train.

The main aim of the paper is the study of the surge voltages in electric rail way signal security system. Hence these studies will provide means of introducing a suitable protective device insulating transformer. This influences the surge voltage interrupting capacity using surge arresters and bypass capacitors. This circuit can be used for investigating surge phenomenon in electric railway signal security system. In this paper a insulating transformer has been introduced for the reduction of surge voltages in the above circuit model and performance evaluation.

This paper describes the result of structure analysis and load test of body structure. The purpose of the analysis and test is to evaluate an safety which body structure shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load and operating condition. Material of body structure applied an aluminum alloy. Body structure consist of side frame, under frame, roof frame, end frame. Both FEM analysis and load test are based on "Performance Test Standard for Electrical Multiple Unit, noticed by Ministry of Construction & Transportation, in 2000 " and reference code is JIS E 7105. The test results have been very safety and stable for design load conditions.

Electric vehicle that is manufactured present by development of electric vehicle technology were available automatic driving, Control of air breaking system for precision stopping is important at automatic driving, Current Electric vehicle is doing precision stopping using braking force control. Braking force control is difficult to take static deceleration by rail condition or change of friction coefficient. Therefore, Proposed the controller in this study is deceleration controller. Designed controller is a robust controller that take state control characteristic for modelling error.
