The development of an aluminium main bearings assembly for diesel engine is presented in this paper. The material of main bearings assembly was used AC4CH aluminium. In our evaluation of AC4CH aluminium main bearings assembly, we analyzed the thermal stress, the tensile test and the weight. From the results of the evaluation, the tensile tests of aluminum AC4CH to the main bearings that require a assembly of yield strength and tensile strength was satisfied. In the analysis results on the temperature, it has not influence on the AC4CH aluminum main bearings assembly. The weight decreased approximately 38.5% in AC4CH aluminium main bearings assembly developed comparing with FC25 main bearings assembly.
AIP-TiN 코팅에서 증착시간이 SKH51과 SKD11 강의 표면특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 비교 연구

In this paper, the surface characteristics of the AIP-TiN coated of the SKH51 and SKD11 steels under various deposition times are presented with emphasis on the comparison of the two materials. The micro-particle, the surface roughness, the micro-hardness, the coated layer thickness, the atomic distribution of Ti, N and Fe elements and the adhesion are measured for various deposition times. It has been shown that the micro-particle, the surface roughness, the coated layer thickness and the atomic distribution of Ti, N and Fe elements are similar for the two cases regardless of the test deposition time from 10 to 180 minutes. However, it has been shown that the micro-hardness and the adhesion of the SKH51 steel are higher than the SKD11 steel, indicating that they are much affected by the hardness of the material to be coated.

The oleophobic property of surfaces modified with micro-post structures are investigated for a range of micro-post diameter (11-23μm) and pitch (20-40μm). The contact angle of an oil droplet on surfaces with various micro-post dimensions was calculated using the Cassie-Baxter model and did not show a good agreement with the measured contact angle. From measurement, the micro-post with diameter of 23㎛ and pitch of 32㎛ was found to have the highest contact angle (134.3°).

After observing grinding characteristics according to variable grinding condition in order to raise the grinding effect without making worse the grinding quality by using general grinding machine, main conclusions of this study are as follows; 1) When grinding quality is constant, grinding effect is changed according to the speed of the workpiece. But the rapidly increasing critical speed of table is($V_w{\leq}4m/min$). 2) As grinding effect is equal, the lower the speed of the workpiece becomes, the lower the grinding force and surface roughness obtains good results. 3) In terms of grinding method, the down cut grinding method produces good grinding surface royghness in case of little grinding depth;otherwise, the up cut method in case of more grinding depth.

This study presents an effective stiffness-based optimization technique to control quantitatively lateral drift and to evaluate the structural behavioral characteristics and efficiency for tall outrigger system subject to lateral loads. For this end, displacement sensitivity depending on behavioral characteristics of outrigger system is established and approximation concept that can efficiently solve large scale problems is introduced. Specifically, under the 'constant-shape' assumption, the resizing technique of member is developed. Six types of 60 story frameworks according to the location of outrigger and belt truss are presented to illustrate the features of the quantitative lateral drift control technique.

This study presents the structural optimization technique of double-layer space frame structure according to the lattice division and height variation. First, the automated computation of joint coordinates and numbering technique are considered for the shape modeling. Also, the objective function for optimization is expressed as the whole member weight of double-layer space frame. Specifically, the member resizing technique and the design variable linking technique for member grouping are developed in the optimization process. Finally, the optimal design formulation and algorithm through the sensitivity analysis technique are presented to select the optimal alternative of double-layer space frame structure.
