As past research has made clear, the person with a high need for achievement is more self-confident. enjoys taking carefully calculated risks, researches his environment actively, and is very much interested in concrete measures of how well he is doing. Somewhat surprisingly, in terms of traditional American business and economic theory, he does not seem to be galvanized into activity by the prospect of profit; it is people with low achievement need works hard anyway, provided there is an opportunity of achieing something. He is interested in money rewards or profits primarily because of the feedback they give him as to how well he is doing. Money is not the incentive to effort but rather the measure of its success for the real entrepreneur. Such a finding does raise some interesting questions about what might be called the classical approach to stimulating enterprise or economic growth in underdeveloped conutries or in “pockets of poverty” in the United States. Most policy-makers have taken the view that what should be manipulated in such places is the environment-or, more specifically, the opportunities to make money. They have felt it is safe to assume that, on the average, an increase in opportunities will evoke an increased response from potential entrepreneurs who will come forward to take advantage of the openigs, just as more investors will come forward if interest rates go up.

In recent years, organization development (OD) has emerged as a total organizational approach and a set of behavioral techniques for managing organizational conflict and change. Richard Beckhard list a few of the kinds of conditions or felt needs that have supplied the impetus for organization development programs. 1. The need to change a managerial strategy. 2. The need to make the organization climate more consistent with both individual need and the changing needs of the environment. 3. The need to change cultural norms. 4. The need to change structure and roles. 5. The need to improve intergroup collaboration. 6. The need to open up the communications system. 7. The need for better planning. 8. The need for coping with problems of merger. 9. Need for change in motivation of the workforce. 10. Need for adaptation to a new environment. R. Beckhard also points out some of the changing social-human values that are having an impact on business organizations. Most of the theory of Organization Development has been developed by the behavioral scientists, and now it is heavily based on behavioral science concepts and methods. So the first part of the chapter will treat a brief overview of behavioral science as its background. Sometimes the phrase "dynamic organization" and "healthy organization" are used equal to Organization Development, but the meaning is somewhat different. All these points are misconceptions about OD, according to sperling. Much more research is needed before the full benefits and limitations of OD can be ascertained. However, one point seems clear; as a viable behavioral approach, it does have an important place, along with other approaches such as the matrix organization strncture and the quantitative decision model, in ensuring organizational success. One final point needs to be emphasized. Successful Organization Development efforts require skillful behavioral scientist interventions, a systems view, and top management support and involvement. In addition, changes stemming from Organization Development must be linked to changes in the total personnel subsystem. The viability of Organization Development efforts lies in the degree to which they accurately reflect the aspirations and concerns of the participating members. In conclusion, successful Organization Development tends to be a total system effort; a process of planned change-not a program with a temporary quality; and aimed at developing the organization's internal resources for effective change in the future.

It is well known that unburned hydrocarbons are abundantly emitted into the atmosphere at cold start in SI engine. Many nations tend to enforce regulations of
emission much more strictly. This study was conducted to develop a system which reduces HC emissions at cold start using the device of temporary storage and recombustion. The measurements are focused upon tile first 30 seconds of operation after starting. with the engine and coolant initially at ambient temperature because tins period has a major effect on HC emissions, over the FTP cycle. The engine examined is a 4-cylinder. 16-valve SI engine. K type thermocouples attached on the O2 sensor, the catalytic converter and the coolant, and each sensor for the engine were connected to the AID board to find the parameters for storage time and recombustion mode. The emissions were initially enriched in light fuel alkanes and depleted in heavy aromatic species. It was decided that the maximum storage time was 30 seconds at cold start. The time for storage was decreased with warmed start because the O2 sensor's conversion at warmed start is much faster than that at cold start. The recombustion mode was selected by using the rate of throttle valve and engine speed to avoid engine torque fluctuation.

This study is carried out to make clear the reason of the occurrence of sudden acceleration incident of AT vehicle. The stepper motor is used to control the engine speed at idle by compensating the volume of air. By the way it's valve is contaminated by blow-by gas deposit and back fire etc. This contamination could occur the load of motor at low temperature. This plays an important role in damaging the motor's coil with the motor's performance interfered. If it's coil is damaged, the ISC could malfunction. If these phenomena occur, the speed of engine may increase or the engine may stall with hunting.
