        Effects of Counter-rotation Position on Knee/Hip Angulation, Center of Mass Inclination, and Edging Angle in Simulated Alpine Skiing

        Objective: To investigate rotation movement of segment for performing each position and its effect on knee/hip angulation, COM inclination, and edging angle changes. Method: Twelve Alpine skiers (age: 25.8±4.8 years, height: 173.8±5.9 cm, weight: 71.4±7.4 kg, length of career: 9.9±4.6 years) participated in this study. Each skier was asked to perform counter-rotation, neutral, and rotation positions. Results: Shank and thigh were less rotated in the counter-rotation position than in other positions, whereas the trunk and pelvis were more counter-rotated (p<.05). Hip angulation, COM inclination, and edging angle were significantly greater in the counter-rotation position than in other positions (p<.05). Conclusion: Our finding proved that the counter-rotation position increases hip angulation, COM inclination, and edging angle. Consequently, we suggest that skiers should perform counter-rotation of the trunk and pelvis relative to the ski direction in the vertical axis for the counter-rotation position. Further analysis will continue to investigate the effects of the counter-rotation position in real ski slope with kinetic analysis.

        평창동계올림픽 알파인 스키 회전ㆍ대회전 코스의 지형 특성 및 경기력 요인에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 평창 동계올림픽 알파인 스키 대회전(giant slalom, GS) 및 회전(slalom, SL) 종목이 열린 용평리조트 레인보우 코스에 대한 특성을 정량화하고, 그 특성과 스키어의 속력과의 관계에 대하여 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 용평 리조트 레인보우 코스에서 회전 및 대회전 종목 훈련을 지속적으로 실시하고 있는 국가대표 후보팀 선수가 본 연구에 참여하였다. GPS를 이용하여 대회전 및 회전 기문의 위치를 측정하고, 각 종목별로 활주 시 나타나는 스키어의 궤도를 측정하였다. 수집된 위도, 경도, 고도 데이터는 미터단위로 변환하였으며, 기문 간 거리ㆍ기문변화각ㆍ경사도를 산출하여 스키어의 속력과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 기문 간 거리는 GS에서 28.60±5.26 m, SL에서 12.79±2.53 m, 기문변화각은 GS에서 139.68±13.42°, SL에서 162.94±9.77°, 경사도는 GS에서 -28.54±13.65°, SL에서 -33.66±8.57°로 나타났다. 또한 대회전과 회전 모두 기문 간의 거리와 경사가 스키어의 속력과 유의한 상관관계가 있음을 나타냈다. The aim of this study is to quantify the characteristics of Rainbow course of Yongpyong resort where the giant slalom (GS) and slalom (SL) of the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games are held, and to investigate the correlation between the characteristics and the skier’s speed. A candidate for the national alpine ski team who are continuously training the giant slalom and slalom at rainbow course of the Yongpyong resort participated in the study. The Global Positioning System (GPS) was used to measure the position of the gates of GS and SL, and to collect the skier’s trajectory when skier was running. The collected latitude, longitude, and altitude data were chaged into meter units, and the gate distance, gate shift angle, and gradient were calculated and the correlation between the skier’s speed and course characteristic parameters was analysed. The gate distance was 28.60±5.26 m in GS and 12.79±2.53 m in SL. The gate shift angle was 139.68±13.42° in GS and 162.94±9.77°, in SL. The gradient was -28.54±13.65° in GS and -33.66±8.57° in SL. In addition, in the giant slalom and slalom, there was a significant correlation between gate distance and skier’s speed and between gradient and skier’s speed.

        스포츠 마사지 견갑부 전문기법 적용이 Push up 시 근전도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 15명의 장시간 컴퓨터를 사용하는 직장인을 대상으로 스포츠마사지 견갑부 전문기법 적용이 push-up 시주동근과 협력근에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하여 운동 전 스포츠마사지의 효과를 알아보고자 실시하였다. 연구 대상은 서울 송파구 S대기업에 근무하는 성인 15명을 대상으로 최근 어깨 관절 및 팔꿈치 관절에 부상을 입은 경험이 없으며 push-up이 가능한 직장인을 선정하였다. 대상자는 사전에 push-up의 일관성을 위해 교육을 받았으며 팔꿈치 관절의 굽힘과 폄 구간에서 5초의 등척성 운동으로 시작과 끝 지점의 1초를 제외한 3회 측정한 값의 근활성도를 평균화하였다. 스포츠마사지 견갑부 전문기법은 10분 동안 진행하였으며 5분 휴식 후 push-up을 진행하여 전과 비교하였다. 비교 분석 결과 스포츠마사지 후 굽힘구간에서 주동근인 큰가슴근이 근활성도가 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있게 증가하였고, 위 등세모근·큰가슴근 비와 위 등세모근·아래 등세모근 비가 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있게 감소하였다. 따라서 스포츠마사지 견갑부 전문기법의 적용이 위 등세모근의 긴장도 감소에 효과가 있으며 불안정한 어깨관절의 움직임 완화로 push-up 주동근인 큰가슴근의 근활성도를 증가시키는 결과를 보였다. The purpose of this study is the effects of the sports massage before having exercise, by analyzing how the professional sports massage shoulder technique influences on Agonist and Synergist during push-ups. It has studied 15 office workers using computer for a long time in a ”S” company, located in Songpagu, Seoul. The participants were composed of 10 men and 5 women (Age: 27.26+-2.12years, Height: 172.35+-8.91cm, Weight: 67.72+-13.23kg); they have had no experience on the injured shoulder and elbow joint recently and were able to exercise push-ups. The participants were informed beforehand how to exercise push-ups consistently. The activities were measured three times for 5 seconds in flexion and extension period excluding the start and end points of a second in isometric position and the results were averaged. The measure of the muscle activity had been repeated and compared with the value after 10 minutes professional sports massage shoulder technique and 5 minutes rest. The result of this study is that there is statistically a significant difference in muscle agonist activity of the pectoralis major at the bend section after sport massage, and also in the ratio of pectoralis major and upper and lower trapezius. therefore, the professional sports massage shoulder technique applied to reduce the tension of the upper trapezius, and the muscle activity of the pectoralis major, which is the agonist for push-ups, was increased by unstable shoulder movement mitigation.

        기계체조 도마 동작의 도움닫기 구간이 경기력에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 기계체조 도마 동작의 도움닫기 구간이 경기력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 있다. 본 연구를 원활히 수행하기 위하여 K대학 체조선수 중 도마난도 기술 5.2 이상의 우수자 5명(age: 22.4±1.5 years, height: 165.2±2.9cm, weight: 61.2±4.1 kg, career: 12.0±2.5 years)과 그렇지 못한 비우수자 5명(age: 21.6±0.5 years, height: 162.8±3.6cm, weight: 57.4±3.2 kg, career: 10.0±2.1 years), 총 10명을 대상자로 선정하였다. 모든 대상자들은 도마의 로윤(LouYun) 기술을 각 5회씩 수행하였으며 이때 도움닫기 구간이 기계체조 도마 경기력에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 발구름 시간, 도마접촉시간, 도움닫기 시 속도, 운동량을 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 우수 그룹은 비우수 그룹 선수들과 비교하여, 통계적으로 유의하게 짧은 발구름 시간을 보였으며(p<.05), 도움닫기 시 약 9% 빠른 속도와 약 15% 높은 운동량을 나타냈다(p<.05). 또한, 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았으나 0.01초 빠른 도마 접촉 시간을 나타냈다. 결론적으로, 이는 우수 그룹의 선수들이 비우수 그룹과 비교하여 폭발적으로 도움닫기와 발구름 연결동작 및 도마 접촉을 시도한다는 것을 의미하고, 빠른 도움닫기 속도와 운동량을 바탕으로 보다 높고 긴 체공시간의 난이도를 수행할 수 있는 잠재력을 지니고 있음을 나타낸다. 따라서 체조 도마선수들의 경기력을 향상시키기 위해는 도움닫기와 발구름을 성공적으로 수행하기 위한 상·하지의 근력 향상과 주로 주행 기술 등과 같은 도움닫기 구간의 숙련도를 높이기 위한 훈련이 매우 중요할 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects approaching phase on vaulting in gymnastic performance. Ten gymnasts, divided into skilled group(age: 22.4±1.5 years, height: 165.2±2.9 cm, weight: 61.2±4.1 kg, career: 12.0±2.5 years) who performs vaulting skill level over than 5.2 points and less-skilled group(age: 21.6±0.5 years, height: 162.8±3.6 cm, weight: 57.4±3.2 kg, career: 10.0±2.1 years) who performs vaulting skill level less than 4.8 points, were participated in this study. Then, subjects were asked to perform the Lou Yun movement five times. The board contact, horse contact time, velocity and momentum of approaching phase were measured. In result, the board contact time in skilled group was significantly shorter than less-skilled group(p<.05). Moreover, the velocity and momentum of approaching phase in skilled group were greater than less-skilled group(p<.05). It indicates that skilled group performs more powerful contact than less-skilled group on the board. In addition, skilled group has a big potential for performing high level movements on vaulting with greater velocity and momentum compared with less-skilled group. Therefore, the training for running, approaching which could be step matching, and board contact are very important in order to enhance vaulting performance in gymnastics.

      • A Study on the Reducing of the Machining Time with Force Measurements in a MIS Robot for Total Hip Arthroplasty

          Total Hip Arthroplasty is a surgical process that replaces a damaged or fractured hip joint with an artificial femoral stem and acetabular cup. It is one of the most successful operations in orthopedic surgery. However, postsurgical results depend largely on the surgeon’s skill. For a more accurate shaping of the femur as well as alignment of the inserted stem, many surgical robots for THA have been developed and commercialized. The most popular robot system for THA is ROBODOC. An earlier surgery robot showed improved results in terms of the error in the angle and in the fit of implant. However, additional surgical procedures are still required with these systems, as it uses a CT image for registration to obtain the transform between the bone coordinate and the robot coordinates. In the HWRS research group, a compact robot system known as ARTHROBOT was designed. It does not use a CT image for registration. This system uses a block-gagebased <BR>registration; therefore, CT or additional procedures are not needed. This robot is fixed to the femur with bone clamp, and the incision larger than in manual surgery. To reduce the incision size, a robot system that is fixed into the femoral cavity was designed. The performance was acceptable; however, the time required for surgery with this system is exceedingly long. In this study, a control method is suggested to reduce the time that is needed for shaping the femur. Following this, the proposed method is verified with plastic bones and bovine bones.

      • Design of Master Console Robot for Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery

        NOTES is new concept of surgery which can get similar result without incise patient’"s skin. But, it is difficult to operate with existing surgery instruments which have flexible joint and low degree of freedom. These can be overcome with a surgical robot. In this research, robot controller which can control robot arm instinctively is developed. The structure of the robot controller is similar to the robot arm so that robot arm can move similar movement of robot controller. In this paper, two methods for controlling robot arm are proposed and the feasibility of application of these methods is simulated.

        The robot aided surgery for the hip resurfacing arthroplasty with minimal invasiveness is challenging as the registration of the bone as well as the replacement should be performed in a small opening. In this paper, a simple method of registration and carving the femoral head for the hip resurfacing surgery was presented. The surgical robot was tried to cut the plastic model bone with successful results.

      • A Review of Mitigation Measures for Reducing Railway Rolling Noise from an Infrastructure Point of View

        Since increased demands for railway speed and capacity have caused an inevitable increase in railway noise, the noise and vibration pollution for residents living near railway lines are becoming major social problems. Therefore, noise reduction activities are essential to ensure that railways can be recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly means of transportation and to protect people’s health. Rolling noise is the main source of noise at speeds below approximately 250 km/h, after traction noise and aerodynamic noise, and infrastructure measures could be effective to abate the rolling noise. This review paper covers various approaches to mitigate rolling noise, focusing on mitigation measures from the perspective of infrastructure. These include noise propagation reduction methods, such as noise barriers, the development and application of sound absorbing materials, such as sound absorbing blocks using porous concrete, and rail vibration and noise control methods using rail dampers and rail pads. It can be concluded, based on the literature review, that the most effective noise control measures are those that mitigate noise at or near the source.
