The purpose of the study was to investigate and find the metabolic and strength response to the effects of Gin Seng intake on weight reduction in Wrestlers. Ten subjects experienced five to eight years fro were used for the study. They are attending at university and engaging in wrestling program. The subjects were divided into experimental and control groups. Five exeprimental group was supplemented Korean Gin Seng with the amounts of 600g for eight weeks. The pre-post test methods was conducted. The metabolic test using the Ergo-Oxyscreen (Jager co. German) were obtained during the ergometer bicycle tests. The subjects were seated on the bicycle for two minutes after two minutes resting period, and pedalled with 60rpm at the beginning with free loading for two minutes, and increased the 0.5KP load every one minute. The exercise on the bicycle was continued until the subjects were exhausted. The metabolic data such as weight, MV(minute ventilation)., BF(breathing frequency), Heart rate, Vo_2ml kg/min., and Time. were calculated automatically and printed out the data every minute. The grip and back strength tests were obtained using the dynamometer (T.KK. Japan), and leg strength(180/sec, 30/sec.), power, isometric maximal strength, and endurance were measured through Cybex-Ⅱ system. After pre-test, exprimental group was begin to intake Gin-Seng for eight weeks, and control was start to reduce their body weight. As the results of the study, conclusion to be drawn as follows; 1. There were no significant difference between before weight reduction and after weight

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) is recently attracting a significant attention for lithium air batteries (LABs) due to better reliability compared with liquid type electrolyte and higher ionic conductivity compared with solid type electrolyte. In this paper, we report a new combination of polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based GPE with tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (tCl-pBQ) as the redox mediator for the LAB application. The synthesized PAN/tCl-pBQ GPE with lithium bis (tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI)/tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (TEGDME) displays a decrease in the LAB charge voltage from ~ 4.2 to 3.6 V and a ~ 10% increase in energy cycle efficiency compared with PAN GPE without tCl-pBQ. The decrease in charge voltage improves the cyclability from 8 to 98 cycles. Structural analyses reveal that addition of tCl-pBQ accelerates the formation of an amorphous phase in the PAN-based gel polymer electrolyte matrix, improving the ionic conductivity from 7.64 to 12.5 mS cm−1 at room temperature.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The PAN/tCl-pBQ composite GPE synthesized via casting method with electrospinning. </LI> <LI> The redox mediator effect of tCl-pBQ was proved by cyclic voltammetry. </LI> <LI> Using the PAN/tCl-pBQ GPE shows much improvement of cyclability for Li-air batteries. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P>The effect of dynamic compressive stimulation on MG-63 cell proliferation on an auxetic PLGA scaffold was investigated. The estimated Poisson ratio of the prepared auxetic scaffold specimens was approximately (−)0.07, while the Poisson ratio estimated for conventional scaffold specimens was (+)0.12 under 10% strain compression on average. Three stimulus groups were examined: control (no stimulation), static compression, and dynamic compression. In preparation for proliferation testing, cells were seeded at 2.2 × 105 cells/80 <I>μ</I>L on each scaffold specimen. The average proliferation rates of the static and dynamic groups were higher than those of the control group: 13.4% and 25.5% higher at culture day 1, 34.7% and 56.2% at culture day 3, and 17.5% and 43.0% at culture day 5, respectively. The static and dynamic group results at culture day 5 were significantly different (p<0.01). Moreover, proliferation rate of the dynamic stimulation group was 1.22 times higher than that of the static group (p<0.01). Conclusively, proliferation of osteoblast-like cells was enhanced through compressive stimulation, but the enhancement was maximal with dynamic compressive stimulation of auxetic scaffolds.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, the poly-vinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/p-benzoquinone (pBQ) gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) is synthesized well with LiTFSI/TEGDME for Li-air battery (LAB) applications. The PVDF/pBQ GPEs are characterized by electrochemical analysis and compared to the PVDF GPE. We confirm that pBQ molecule in PVDF GPE shows redox mediate behavior during charge-discharge process. Employing PVDF/pBQ GPE for LAB leads to an improved cycleability from 2 to over 30. In addition it results in a charge voltage decrease from around 4.2V to around 3.3V. The energy cycle efficiency (ECE) is improved about 15%. The pBQ accelerates to the formation of an amorphous phase on synthesized PVDF GPE matrix by acting inhibitor for polymerization. It leads to ionic conductivity improvement of synthesized GPE from 2.83 mScm−1 to 4.98 mScm−1.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The p-benzoquinone shows redox mediator behavior in GPE for lithium air battery. </LI> <LI> The PVDF/p-benzoquuinone GPE synthesized by electrospinning and casting method. </LI> <LI> Using the PVDF/p-benzoquinone GPE shows good cycleability for lithium air battery. </LI> <LI> Adding p-benzoquinone into PVDF matrix leads to improvement of ionic conductivity. </LI> </UL> </P>

The effects of feeding of diets based on roughage supplemented with concentrate on the carcass and meat quality attributes of Korean black goats were investigated. The 40 male goats at 5 mon age were divided into four treatment groups; T1 (1.5%), T2 (2.0%), T3 (2.5%) and T4 (ad libitum) feeding of concentrate with ad libitum rice straw. Forty bucks at the end of the feeding were fasted for 12 h before slaughter and were then slaughtered. For carcass measurement, cold buck carcasses were examined after 24 h of chilling at $5^{\circ}C$. The carcasses were chilled in refrigerator at $2{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ for 24 h, then the longissimus dorsi muscle was removed from the carcasses. The samples were separately vacuum packaged, frozen and stored at $-20^{\circ}C$ for up to 1 mon, prior to physicochemical evaluations. Carcass yields were greatly affected by rate of concentrate feeding. T4 showed the heaviest live and carcass weights and the highest dressing and fat percentages (p<0.05). The moisture contents were lower in T4 compared with other treatments, while the crude protein and fat contents were higher (p<0.05). mono-unsaturated fatty acid in T4 was significantly higher than others, which showed the highest percentages of oleic acid (C18:1). For the sensory test, T4 was tenderer and produced better flavor scores than others. Increasing the level of concentrate in the diet resulted in an improvement in growth performance, and carcass and physicochemical characteristics of goat meats.

Hybrid cell line that produced MAbs against Chlamydia trachomatis surface antigens were prepared by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells with BALB/c mouse. Those Mabs were used to examine the antigenic specificity and biological function of several Chlamydia serotypes. Using those MABs, chlamydial inclusions were detected by using chemiluminence and it turns out that the chemiluminents method was very useful to detect the chlamydial inclusions or infection. It was confirmed that this method is easy to detect and to reduce the time consuming compared with examination of chlamydial inclusions order fluorescence microscopy.
