Five expensive sensors are necessary to control a magnetic bearing system. The sensor price rate of magnetic bearing system is high. So it is necessary that cheap and good sensor is developed. The optical fiber displacement sensor is adaptive to satisfy this condition. We can design magnetically suspended spindle based on static characteristic of optical fiber displacement sensor developed. The controller can be designed by decoupled feedback PD. Therefore, it is simpler than any other controller comparatively.

Background : The Food industry is trying to replace many synthetic with surfactants with natural alternatives, mainly inspired by consumer’s demand. Saponins are water-soluble small amphiphilie molecules that can be isolated from various natural sources. Especially, concentrated red ginseng extract (CRGE) contains saponins (called as ginsenoside) and they have been shown medical activities to help alleviate pathological symptoms, promote health and prevent potential diseases. In this study, we confirmed the effectiveness of this natural emulsifier for forming and properties of emulsions containing those. Methods and Results : CRGE was supplied D company, located in Geumsan. We examined the interfacial tension, emulsifying activity, fat globule size, dispersion stability, zeta-potential, microscopic observation. The interfacial tension decreased gradually with increasing CRGE concentration. In emulsion systems, as the concentration increases, fat globules sizes also becomes smaller as well as result of dispersion stability evaluated by separation analyzer (i.e., LUMiFuge) showed that it was more stable in emulsions with increasing CRGE concentration. CRGE-coated droplets were stable to droplet coalescence over a range of pH value (2 - 9), salt concentrations (0 - 500 mM NaCl). However, some flocculation was observed under highly acidic (pH 3) and high ionic strength (≧ 400 mM NaCl) conditions, which might be attributed to screening of electrostatic repulsion. Especially, CRGE-coated droplets had high negative charged at basic pH that decreased in magnitude with falling pH. Conclusion : Thus, CRGE have some emulsifying properties as well as medical activities. The results means that emulsions formed with CRGE may be able to replace synthetic surfactants in food industry.

High temperatures (30-36 C) inhibited astaxanthin accumulation in Haematococcus pluvialis under photoautotrophic conditions. The depression of carotenogenesis was primarily attributed to excess intracellular less reactive oxygen species (LROS; O2 (-) and H2O2) levels generated under high temperature conditions. Here, we show that the heat stress-driven inefficient astaxanthin production was improved by accelerating the iron-catalyzed Haber-Weiss reaction to convert LROS into more reactive oxygen species (MROS; O2 and OH), thereby facilitating lipid peroxidation. As a result, during 18 days of photoautotrophic induction, the astaxanthin concentration of cells cultured in high temperatures in the presence of iron (450 μM) was dramatically increased by 75 % (30 C) and 133 % (36 C) compared to that of cells exposed to heat stress alone. The heat stress-driven Haber-Weiss reaction will be useful for economically producing astaxanthin by reducing energy cost and enhancing photoautotrophic astaxanthin production, particularly outdoors utilizing natural solar radiation including heat and light for photo-induction of H. pluvialis.

Genetic variation in the Asian shore crab Hemigrapsus sanguineus was determined from partial mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences of the cytochrome b (Cytb) gene. Samples included 143 crabs from six localities along three coastlines in South Korea. A nucleotide sequence analysis revealed 38 variable sites in a 470-bp sequence, which defined 37 haplotypes. The haplotypes were not associated geographically and had a shallow genealogy. Pairwise $F_{ST}$ tests and a two-dimensional scaling analysis revealed no significant genetic differentiation among most of the populations. The low pairwise comparison values, but significant genetic differentiation of a northeastern population from all other populations, might have been influenced by a restriction in gene flow caused by hydrographic conditions such as ocean boundaries. The high haplotype diversity, low nucleotide diversity, and time since H. sanguineus expansion in Korean coastal waters indicate rapid population growth and a recent, sudden expansion in the Late Pleistocene.

This study was conducted to investigate the quality characteristics of the bread containing a honeyed red ginseng by-product (HRG). HRG was added to bread dough at various concentration ranging from 10-30%, after which physicochemical properties of dough and bread containing HRG were determined. The pH, loaf volume, specific loaf volume, volume and baking loss decreased with increasing amount of HRG in bread, whereas loaf weight and hardness were increased. In particular, hardness appeared to be 2.18 times higher in the control without HRG compared to the bread containing 30% HRG. For color, increasing the amount of HRG reduced a and b values, whereas L value was increased. In sensory evaluation, the highest overall preference score was observed in containing 20% HRG, whereas the lowest score was observed in bread with 10% HRG. From a honeyed red ginseng by-product bread with good acceptability has an optimum HRG concentration of 20%.
