Characterization of Rosa chinensis CBF Genes and the Function of RcCBF6 in Cold Tolerance

Jianbo Li 한국식물학회 2020 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.63 No.4

As a class of AP2 family transcription factors, C-repeat binding factor (CBF) gene family plays an important role in resisting low-temperature stress and improving cold tolerance of plants. Rosa chinensis is an important horticultural and ornamental plant, but little is known about the molecular characteristics of CBF genes in R. chinensis. In our study, six RcCBFs members were identified at R. chinensis whole genome, including one member RcCBF1 on Chromosome 1 and other five members RcCBF2-6 on Chromosome 7. The analysis of cis-acting elements indicated that there were various cis-acting elements related to stress, development, hormone, and light. The expression profiles showed that most of RcCBFs were mainly expressed in root, and the expression levels of RcCBFs were significantly induced by low-temperature stress, especially RcCBF6. To verify the function of RcCBF6, we generated its overexpressing transgenic lines in Arabidopsis thaliana. The RcCBF6-overexpressing plants exhibited higher tolerance to cold stress as evidenced by a better growth and higher antioxidative enzyme activities than the wild-type plants. Furthermore, the expression levels of some cold-response genes were up-regulated in the transgenic plants, such as KIN1, RD29A, LTP3, and GOLS3. Our study contributes to a better understanding of RcCBF gene family and provides a foundation for the further functional research of RcCBFs.

Empirical likelihood for the class of single index hazard regression models

        Jianbo Li,Minglong Guo,Changxin Du,Riquan Zhang,Heng Lian 한국통계학회 2015 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.44 No.4

Based on the B spline approximation technique and right censored data, we consider the empirical likelihood inference for the index parameters and its partial components in a class of single index hazard regression models. Under some regular conditions, we show that our proposed empirical likelihood ratio statistics follow the standard χ2 distribution. Some numerical studies are given to illustrate our proposed methodology.

Expression, Purification, and Characteristic of Tibetan Sheep Breast Lysozyme Using Pichia pastoris Expression System

Li, Jianbo,Jiang, Mingfeng,Wang, Yong Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2014 Animal Bioscience Vol.27 No.4

A lysozyme gene from breast of Tibetan sheep was successfully expressed by secretion using a-factor signal sequence in the methylotrophic yeast, Pichia pastoris GS115. An expression yield and specific activity greater than 500 mg/L and 4,000 U/mg was obtained. Results at optimal pH and temperature showed recombinant lysozyme has higher lytic activity at pH 6.5 and $45^{\circ}C$. This study demonstrates the successful expression of recombinant lysozyme using the eukaryotic host organism P. pastoris paving the way for protein engineering. Additionally, this study shows the feasibility of subsequent industrial manufacture of the enzyme with this expression system together with a high purity scheme for easy high-yield purification.

Effects of processing method on the pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of orally administered ginseng

        Chen, Jianbo,Li, Meijia,Chen, Lixue,Wang, Yufang,Li, Shanshan,Zhang, Yuwei,Zhang, Lei,Song, Mingjie,Liu, Chang,Hua, Mei,Sun, Yinshi The Korean Society of Ginseng 2018 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.42 No.1

Background: The use of different methods for the processing of ginseng can result in alterations in its medicinal properties and efficacy. White ginseng (WG), frozen ginseng (FG), and red ginseng (RG) are produced using different methods. WG, FG, and RG possess different pharmacological properties. Methods: WG, FG, and RG extracts and pure ginsenosides were administered to rats to study the pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution characteristics of the following ginsenosides-DRg1, Re, Rb1, and Rd. The concentrations of the ginsenosides in the plasma and tissues were determined using UPLC-MS/MS. Results: The rate and extent of absorption of Rg1, Re, Rb1, and Rd appeared to be affected by the different methods used in processing the ginseng samples. The areas under the plasma drug concentration-time curves (AUCs) of Rg1, Re, Rb1, and Rd were significantly higher than those of the pure ginsenosides. In addition, the AUCs of Rg1, Re, Rb1, and Rd were different for WG, FG, and RG. The amounts of Rg1, Re, Rd, and Rb1 were significantly (p < 0.05) higher in the tissues than those of the pure ginsenosides. The amounts of Re, Rb1, and Rd from the RG extract were significantly higher than those from the WG and FG extracts in the heart, lungs, and kidneys of the rats. Conclusion: Our results show that the use of different methods to process ginseng might affect the pharmacokinetics and oral bioavailability of ginseng as well as the tissue concentrations of Rg1, Re, Rd, and Rb1.

Traffic Flow Prediction Model Based on Spatio-Temporal Dilated Graph Convolution

( Xiufang Sun Jianbo Li ),( Zhiqiang Lv ),( Chuanhao Dong ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.9

With the increase of motor vehicles and tourism demand, some traffic problems gradually appear, such as traffic congestion, safety accidents and insufficient allocation of traffic resources. Facing these challenges, a model of Spatio-Temporal Dilated Convolutional Network (STDGCN) is proposed for assistance of extracting highly nonlinear and complex characteristics to accurately predict the future traffic flow. In particular, we model the traffic as undirected graphs, on which graph convolutions are built to extract spatial feature informations. Furthermore, a dilated convolution is deployed into graph convolution for capturing multi-scale contextual messages. The proposed STDGCN integrates the dilated convolution into the graph convolution, which realizes the extraction of the spatial and temporal characteristics of traffic flow data, as well as features of road occupancy. To observe the performance of the proposed model, we compare with it with four rivals. We also employ four indicators for evaluation. The experimental results show STDGCN’s effectiveness. The prediction accuracy is improved by 17% in comparison with the traditional prediction methods on various real-world traffic datasets.

        Laguerre characterization of some hypersurfaces

        Jianbo Fang,Fengjiang Li 대한수학회 2016 대한수학회보 Vol.53 No.3

Let $x$ : ${M}^{n-1}\rightarrow{\mathbb R}^{n}$ $(n\geq4)$ be an umbilical free hypersurface with non-zero principal curvatures. Then $x$ is associated with a Laguerre metric $\mathbf{g}$, a Laguerre tensor $\mathbf{L}$, a Laguerre form $\mathbf{C}$, and a Laguerre second fundamental form $\mathbf{B}$, which are invariants of $x$ under Laguerre transformation group. We denote the Laguerre scalar curvature by $R$ and the trace-free Laguerre tensor by $\tilde{\mathbf{L}}:={\mathbf{L}}-\frac{1}{n-1}tr({\mathbf{L}})\mathbf{g}$. In this paper, we prove a local classification result under the assumption of parallel Laguerre form and an inequality of the type $$\|\tilde{\mathbf{L}}\|\leq cR,$$ where $c=\frac{1}{(n-3)\sqrt{(n-2)(n-1)}}$ is appropriate real constant, depending on the dimension.

Li, Bel,Guo, Jianbo,Hui, Dong The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2012 The Journal of International Council on Electrical Vol.2 No.4

Aiming at the application of Vanadium Redox-Flow Battery Energy Storage System (VRBESS) on wind power, this paper studied on the control strategy of BESS under the different time scale. Firstly, the paper introduced the operation mode of BESS under different working condition and the judgment principle for operation mode switch, which based on the comprehensive characteristics of wind power prediction, SOC of BESS and control objective of wind power-BESS. According to the technical requirements, the control strategy of BESS was presented, namely smooth control based on ultra-short-term wind power prediction. The smooth control works on smooth the rapid fluctuation of power output from wind farm with time scale 0-15min, it is very helpful to improve the power quality of wind power and reduce the influence from wind power on the frequency regulation capability of power system. Lastly, by means of simulation, the control strategy was applied to a study wind farm to verify the effectiveness.

Research on Fitness Function of Two Evolution Algorithms Used for Neutron Spectrum Unfolding

Li Rui,Yang Jianbo,Tuo Xianguo,Shi Rui 한국물리학회 2021 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.78 No.2

When evolution algorithms are used to unfold the neutron energy spectrum, fitness function design is an important fundamental work for evaluating the quality of the solution, but it has not attracted much attention. In this work, we investigated the performance of eight fitness functions attached to the genetic algorithm (GA) and the differential evolution algorithm (DEA) used for unfolding four neutron spectra selected from the IAEA 403 report. Experiments show that the fitness functions with a maximum in the GA can limit the ability of the population to percept the fitness change, but the ability can be made up in the DEA. The fitness function with a feature penalty term helps to improve the performance of solutions, and the fitness function using the standard deviation and the Chi-squared result shows the balance between the algorithm and the spectra. The results also show that the DEA has good potential for neutron energy spectrum unfolding. The purposes of this work are to provide evidence for structuring and modifying the fitness functions and to suggest some genetic operations that should receive attention when using the fitness function to unfold neutron spectra.

      • Lightweight Key Distribution Protocol for Streaming Media DRM

        Hao Li,Tang Xuyue,Jiayin Tian,Jianbo Liu,Cheng Yang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.9

In the daily-real systems, protecting the data only is far less enough. The process about the generation, distribution, storage, and the revocation of the key is the core problem in the system-security consideration. If the management of the key is insecure, attackers could easily get the key used in the encryption steps to the context, leading to useless processing in the encryption no matter how secure the system be. Unlike the period of validity for the different key, the key can easily be attacked by various methods due to its distribution through the complex net links, which would bring about the threatening of the security. In this paper, we analyze three models of the key distribution, associated with the actual applications for the encryption in the hypermedia video stream. Besides, we raise up a new protocol based on the IKEV2 distribution protocol and evaluate the stability when it suffer the Man-in –the-Middle Attacks, DoS and Replay attacks.
