        Cracking of a prefabricated steel truss-concrete composite beam with pre-embedded shear studs under hogging moment

        To avoid the cracks of cast-in-place concrete in shear pockets and seams in the traditional composite beam with precast decks, this paper proposed a new type of prefabricated steel truss-concrete composite beam (ab. PSTC beam) with pre-embedded shear studs (ab. PSS connector). To study the initial cracking load of concrete deck, the development and distribution laws of the cracks, 3 PSTC beams were tested under hogging moment. And the crack behavior of the deck was compared with traditional precast composite beam, which was assembled by shear pockets and cast-in-place joints. Results show that: (i) the initial crack appears on the deck, thus avoid the appearance of the cracks in the traditional shear pockets; (ii) the crack of the seam appears later than that of the deck, which verifies the reliability of epoxy cement mortar seam, thus solves the complex structure and easily crack behavior of the traditional cast-in-place joints; (iii) the development and the distribution laws of the cracks in PSTC beam are different from the conventional composite beam. Therefore, in the deduction of crack calculation theory, all the above factors should be considered.

        아치형 조립식 PC 탄약고 설계 및 방호성능 평가

        This study suggests the design and assembly drawing of the prefabricated precast concrete arch ammo magazinesusing the numerical analysis as well as the explosion verification test. The protective capacity of the proposedmagazines is identified with the maximum support rotation angles measured by explosion verification tests accordingto the U.S. Unified Facility Criteria 3-340-02. Using numerical analysis, it is examined that oval-type members arebetter than the semi-circle ones in terms of protective capacity. Based on this numerical results, the design andassemble drawing for the prefabricated precast concrete arch ammo magazine are developed. It is identified that thestructure constructed by invented design and assembly drawing has enough protective capacity against blast pressurecaused by 133.75㎏ TNT explosion. The detonation point cannot be open due to the military security. In sum, it couldbe concluded that the ammo magazine proposed in this study has reliable protective capacity with enough redundancy. The redundancy means that there are more economic design approach with reducing the curved wall thickness. 본 연구는 수치해석과 폭발 실증시험을 통해 조립식 PC아치 탄약고의 설계 및 시공도면을 제시하였다. 제안된 탄약고의 방호성능은 미군의 UFC 3-340-02와 한국군의국방·군사시설 설계기준(탄약고 설계지침)에서 제시된 최대 회전각도로 판별하였다. 아치형 탄약고의 기초설계를 위해 곡면형태인 반원형과오발형에 대하여 폭발하중에 대한 방호성능을 수치해석을통해 살펴본 결과 오발형이 타원형에 비하여 지점회전각이적어 전반적으로 방호성능이 뛰어남을 확일 할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 아치형 조립식 PC 탄약고의 설계안 및 시공도를제안하였으며, TNT 133.75㎏을 구조체 벽체로부터 00m이격하여 폭발시켜 실제 시공된 탄약고에 대한 방호성능을 검증하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 제안된 탄약고는 충분한 방호여유력을 확보하고 있는 것으로 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 이러한 방호 여유력을 고려하여 재료의 절감을 통한 보다 경제적인 탄약고 설계도 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

        건축가 김정수의 동교동 건물(173-13)에서의 기술적 시도와 건축적 특징에 관한 연구

        Kim Joung-Su(1919-1985) was an architect who emphasized the importance of technological aspect as well as aesthetic side of architecture through his design of several projects between 1950' and 1960’s. One projects represents his challenge is the 4-story building at Donggyo-dong 173-13. By designing and supervising construction, he introduced pre-cast panel to Korea in 1965. and the significance of this building is as follows.First, Dongyo-dong Building is the first trial with double-skinned pre-cast wall panel in Korea. Second, Kim Joung-Su explored not only technical feature but also aesthetic possibilities of pre-cast panel in designing exterior elevation. Third, He devised a method of construction and details fit to Korean circumstances. The success of his experiment of panel and detail design makes him apply pc panel to other buildings. Kim attamped The 'Scientific Architecture' based on technology and function, His experiment involves evaluating construct method, reducing construction cost and time at the same time. Korean architecture developed in quality as well as in quantity through his trial of engineering and aesthetic aspect of architecture

        The reason for the rapid development of the modular construction industry in the UK and Europe is shifts in housing preferences and subsequent changes in the rental market, on top of the shortage of skilled workers and the rise in labor costs at the construction site. A similar trend in the domestic housing market would be an opportunity for the modular construction industry to make a big leap forward and a good opportunity to lay the foundation for the advancement of the construction industry. Therefore, this study proposed the precast concrete claddings as a way to overcome fire-rating issue of the mid-highrise modular housing construction and set out a design guideline of precast concrete panel for designers and manufacturers based on construction case studies and manufacturers information in the UK and Europe.
