Hua-Wei Lv,Qiao-Liang Wang,Meng Luo,Meng-Di Zhu,Hui-Min Liang,Wen-Jing Li,Hai Cai,Zhong-Bo Zhou,Hong Wang,Sheng-Qiang Tong,Xing-Nuo Li 대한약학회 2023 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.46 No.4
Prenylated flavonoids are a special kind of flavonoid derivative possessing one or more prenyl groups in the parent nucleus of the flavonoid. The presence of the prenyl side chain enriched the structural diversity of flavonoids and increased their bioactivity and bioavailability. Prenylated flavonoids show a wide range of biological activities, such as anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, anti-diabetic, anti-obesity, cardioprotective effects, and anti-osteoclastogenic activities. In recent years, many compounds with significant activity have been discovered with the continuous excavation of the medicinal value of prenylated flavonoids, and have attracted the extensive attention of pharmacologists. This review summarizes recent progress on research into natural active prenylated flavonoids to promote new discoveries of their medicinal value.

Purpose Determine the frequency and prognostic value of circulating Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA copy number in angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) patients who were treated with dose-adjusted etoposide, prednisone, vincristine, cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin (DA-EPOCH) regimens. Materials and Methods Sixty newly-diagnosed AITL patients were retrospectively enrolled in the present study. All patients were treated with DA-EPOCH regimen. Results Twenty-two subjects (36.7%) had a EBV DNA-positive test at diagnosis. EBV DNApositive patients were associated with lower lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (p=0.024). Median followup was 40 months (range, 14 to 100 months). The overall response rate for all the 60 AITL patents were 71.7% (95% confidence interval [CI], 58.6 to 82.5) with 3-year progressivefree survival (PFS) rate of 30.9%±6.1% and overall survival (OS) rate of 60.1%±6.6%. Not only did PFS estimation differ between the EBV DNApositive and EBV DNAnegative group (hazard ratio [HR], 2.24; 95% CI, 1.15 to 4.35; p=0.006), but also worse OS was observed in the pretreatment EBV DNApositive group than in the EBV DNAnegative group (HR, 2.74; 95% CI, 1.22 to 6.19; p=0.006). EBV DNA test positivity was independent prognostic marker for both PFS (HR, 2.17; 95% CI, 1.17 to 4.00; p=0.014) and OS (HR, 3.24; 95% CI, 1.48 to 7.11; p=0.004) after adjusting International Prognostic Index and prognostic index for AITL score. Reduction in EBV copies was significantly associated with therapy-response. Conclusion Circulating EBV DNA level was an important prognostic and monitoring marker for AITL patients who treated with DA-EPOCH regimens which cannot improve outcomes for AITL patients.

FOXA1: a Promising Prognostic Marker in Breast Cancer
Hu, Qing,Luo, Zhou,Xu, Tao,Zhang, Jun-Ying,Zhu, Ying,Chen, Wei-Xian,Zhong, Shan-Liang,Zhao, Jian-Hua,Tang, Jin-Hai Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.1
Accurate diagnosis and proper monitoring of cancer patients remain important obstacles for successful cancer treatment. The search for cancer biomarkers can aid in more accurate prediction of clinical outcome and may also reveal novel predictive factors and therapeutic targets. One such prognostic marker seems to be FOXA1. Many studies have shown that FOXA1 is strongly expressed in a vast majority of cancers, including breast cancer, in which high expression is associated with a good prognosis. In this review, we summarize the role of this transcription factor in the development and prognosis of breast cancer in the hope of providing insights into utility of FOXA1 as a novel biomarker.
Picosecond-Pulse-Pumped Efficient Optical Parametric Amplifier for Non-Chirped Femtosecond Pulses
Liejia Qian,Hang Luo,Heyuan Zhu,Hua Yang,Peng Yuan 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.51 No.III
A novel ultra-broadband optical parametric amplifier (OPA), which directly amplifies non-chirped femtosecond signal pulses by using picosecond pumping pulses at a wavelength corresponding to the second-harmonic of the signal, is proposed and studied numerically. The OPA is capable of supporting amplification of few-cycle femtosecond pulses and can be highly efficient due to the sweep of the signal within the picosecond pump pulse resulting from the group-velocity mismatch.

A Wireless Sensor Network Clustering Algorithm based on Hypergraph
Xu Qian,Hu Ji-cheng,Lin Hai,Kong Ruo-shan,Luo Yong-en,Zhu Li,Mao Hua-qing 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.6
The paper proposes a clustering algorithm for wireless sensor network based on hypergraph. Under the hypergraph model, a wireless sensor network is mapped to a hypergraph. Then a hierarchical iterative clustering algorithm is applied to the hypergraph, thus dividing the hypergraph into multiple parts. A cluster head is selected from each part. In order to improve the partitioning process, a new modularity function is proposed. Compared with the classic clustering algorithm LEACH, simulation shows that our algorithm performs better in energy consuming and network lifetime.

There are lots of seamounts globally whose primary production is disproportionally greater than the surrounding areas. Compared to other deep-sea environments, however, the seamounts environment is relatively less explored for fungal diversity. In the present study, we explored the fungal community structure in deep-sea sediments from four different stations of the Magellan seamounts environment by using high-throughput sequencing of the ITS1 region. A total of 1,897,618 ITS1 sequences were obtained. Among these sequences, fungal ITS1 sequences could be clustered into 1,662 OTUs. The majority of these sequences belonged to Ascomycota. In the genera level, the most abundant genus was Mortierella (4.79%), which was reported as a common fungal genus in soil and marine sediments, followed by Umbelopsis (3.80%), Cladosporium (2.98%), Saccharomycopsis (2.53%), Aspergillus (2.42%), Hortaea (2.36%), Saitozyma (2.20%), Trichoderma (2.12%), Penicillium (2.11%), Russula (1.86%), and Verticillium (1.40%). Most of these recovered genera belong to Ascomycota. The Bray-Curtis analysis showed that there was 37 to 85% dissimilarity of fungal communities between each two sediment samples. The Principal coordinates analysis clearly showed variations in the fungal community among different sediment samples. These results suggested that there was a difference in fungal community structures not only among four different sampling stations but also for different layers at the same station. The depth and geographical distance significantly affect the fungal community, and the effect of depth and geographical distance on the structure of the fungal community in the Magellan seamounts is basically same. Most of the fungi were more or less related to plants, these plant parasitic/symbiotic/endophytic fungi constitute a unique type of seamounts environmental fungal ecology, different from other marine ecosystems.
Nanoscale Analysis of a Functionalized Polythiophene Surface by Adhesion Mapping
Lee, Jae-Eun,Kwak, Ju-Won,Park, Joon Won,Luo, Shyh-Chyang,Zhu, Bo,Yu, Hsiao-hua American Chemical Society 2014 ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY - Vol.86 No.14

Functionalized ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) monomers, hydroxymethyl EDOT (EDOT-OH), and zwitterionic phosphorylcholine EDOT (EDOT-PC) were electropolymerized to prepare the homopolymers poly(EDOT-OH) and poly(EDOT-PC), and mixtures of these monomers were used to produce the copolymer poly(EDOT-OH)-co-poly(EDOT-PC). Force–extension-curve-based atomic force microscopy (AFM) was utilized to analyze the surfaces of the films. The PEDOT-OH film yielded force–extension curves for short stretching, and the PEDOT-PC film yielded curves for long stretching. A dendron-modified AFM tip with anthracene groups tethered at the end resulted in adhesion maps with the highest contrast. The analytical data for the copolymer films correlated with the corresponding monomer composition, and the maps revealed that the average size for the copolymer nanodomains ranged from 10–14 nm. This approach can be applied to studies aimed at understanding the surface structure of other relevant polymers and copolymers at the nanoscale level.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info
