Off-grid direction-of-arrival estimation for wideband noncircular sources

Researchers have recently shown an increased interest in estimating the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of wideband noncircular sources, but existing studies have been restricted to subspace-based methods. An off-grid sparse recovery-based algorithm is proposed in this paper to improve the accuracy of existing algorithms in low signal-to-noise ratio situations. The covariance and pseudo covariance matrices can be jointly represented subject to block sparsity constraints by taking advantage of the joint sparsity between signal components and bias. Furthermore, the estimation problem is transformed into a single measurement vector problem utilizing the focused operation, resulting in a significant reduction in computational complexity. The proposed algorithm's error threshold and the Cramer–Rao bound for wideband noncircular DOA estimation are deduced in detail. The proposed algorithm's effectiveness and feasibility are demonstrated by simulation results.

Near-infrared (NIR) light-powered nanomotors with active motion have attracted extensive attention inthe chemo-photothermal therapy of cancer. However, there are also some limitations such as complicatedsynthesis process, low permeability of drugs and viscous physiological environment. Herein, wedeveloped a facile route to synthesize novel NIR light-powered DOX/Au-m-HTAS nanomotor based onnatural halloysite (HNTs) for active chemo-photothermal therapy. Such nanomotor exhibited NIR lightcontrolled on/off motion with a maximum speed of 64.5 lm/s. Owing to the synergetic NIR lightpoweredmotion and chemo-photothermal therapy, DOX/Au-m-HTAS nanomotor could effectivelyadhere tumor cells, leading to deeper cell penetration, higher cellular uptake, and better ablation oftumor cells. Meanwhile, DOX/Au-m-HTAS nanomotors also had enhanced ability for CT imaging of localtumor, demonstrating the enhanced anticancer efficiency. This strategy provided a new insight into thechemo-photothermal synergistic therapy of tumors.

This paper considers the finite time state estimation problem of complex-valued bidirectional associativememory (BAM) neutral-type neural networks with time-varying delays. By resorting to the Lyapunov functionapproach, the Wirtinger inequality and the reciprocally convex approach, a delay-dependent criterion in terms ofLMIs is established to guarantee the finite-time boundedness of the error-state system for the addressed system. Meanwhile, an effective state estimator is designed to estimate the network states through the available outputmeasurements. Finally, a numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

In this paper, a series of CuIn1-xGaxTe2 samples were prepared by vacuum melting combined with the spark plasma sintering process based on the initial stoichiometric ratios of 1: 1-x: x: 2 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9 and 1.0). Crystal results indicate that all Cu(In, Ga)Te2 system samples are the chalcopyrite structure with space group I42d. Thermal analysis results show that all the samples have excellent reproducibility and thermal stability. EPMA data indicates that Ga tended to replace In site instead of Cu or Te. Meanwhile, the roomtemperature carrier concentration of all p-type samples varies from 0.30 × 1019 to 1.25 × 1019cm 3, since carrier mobility changes from 15.16 to 69.27 cm2 V 1 s 1. Ultimately, the significantly reduced total thermal conductivity is observed in the Ga-doped samples, and the maximum ZT value of 0.80 is obtained at 773 K for the CuIn0.8Ga0.2Te2 sample due to the lower thermal conductivity
Multi-focus Image Fusion Based on Random Walk

An effective multi-focus image fusion algorithm based on random walk is proposed in this paper. Random walk and guided filter have attracted extensive attention in image fusion. Random walk is usually used to solve probability problems and it has a good smoothing effect, and guided filter can preserve the gradient information of the image well. The combination of two algorithms can better retain the edge information of the input image. Six sets of source images and five existing methods are used in the experiment and the experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing methods in both subjective and objective evaluation.

The hysteresis nonlinearity of magnetically controlled shape memory alloy actuator is an obstacle in the achievement of high positioning accuracy. To eliminate the influence of hysteresis nonlinearity, a PID hybrid control method which uses the inverse Prandtl-Ishlinskii model as a feedforward controller is proposed in this paper. The PID parameters are searched by particle swarm optimization with cross and heredity function. The simulation results show that when the influence of external disturbance is not considered, the positioning accuracy of open loop control method is 0.67%, and the positioning accuracy of PID hybrid control based on particle swarm optimization is 0.38%; when the influence of external disturbance is considered, the positioning accuracy of open loop control method is 3.29%, and the positioning accuracy of PID hybrid control based on particle swarm optimization is 1.65%. This indicates that the proposed control method can effectively eliminate the impact of hysteresis nonlinearity and external disturbances on the positioning accuracy.
Reducing higher alcohols by nitrogen compensation during fermentation of Chinese rice wine

Excessive amount of higher alcohols in alcoholicbeverages causes unwell and side-effect for consumersalthough adequate consumption offers joy and pleasure. Therefore, reducing higher alcohols in alcoholic beveragesis necessary. We used nitrogen compensation to reducehigher alcohols with Chinese rice wine as an experimentalmodel. Higher alcohols including isobutyl alcohols, isoamylalcohols, and b-phenethyl alcohols were significantlydecreased by 19.27, 23.03 and 19.43%, respectively, when200 mg/L (NH4)2HPO4, 5% (w/v) yeast, and 11% wheatKoji were added to fermentation broth. Meanwhile,important quality parameters remained unchanged includingfree amino acids, organic acids, biogenic amines, andesters. The expression of glutamate dehydrogenase 1 gene(GDH1) and glutamine synthetase gene (GLN1) was significantlyenhanced, 26.9- and 1.9-folds respectively. Theseresults suggest that ammonium compensation could effectivelydecrease higher alcohols in Chinese rice wine byactivating glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) pathway inammonium assimilation.
Specific Mutations in APC, with Prognostic Implications in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Purpose Loss-of-function mutations in the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene are common in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, the characteristic of APC specific mutations in mCRC is poorly understood. Here, we explored the clinical and molecular characteristics of N-terminal and C-terminal side APC mutations in Chinese patients with mCRC. Materials and Methods Hybrid capture-based next-generation sequencing was performed on tumor tissues from 275 mCRC pati-ents to detect mutations in 639 tumor-associated genes. The prognostic value and gene-pathway difference between APC specific mutations in mCRC patients were analyzed. Results APC mutations were highly clustered, accounting for 73% of all mCRC patients, and most of them were truncating mutations. The tumor mutation burden of the N-terminal side APC mutations group (n=76) was significantly lower than that of the C-terminal side group (n=123) (p < 0.001), further confirmed by the public database. Survival analysis showed that mCRC patients with N-terminus side APC mutations had longer overall survival than C-terminus side. Tumor gene pathway analysis showed that gene mutations in the RTK/RAS, Wnt and transforming growth factor β signaling pathways of the C-terminal group were significantly higher than those of the N-terminal group (p < 0.05). Additionally, KRAS, AMER1, TGFBR2, and ARID1A driver mutations were more common in patients with C-terminal side APC mutations. Conclusion APC specific mutations have potential function as mCRC prognostic biomarkers. There are obvious differences in the gene mutation patterns between the C-terminus and N-terminus APC mutations group, which may have certain guiding significance for the subsequent precise treatment of mCRC.
