Dynamic characteristics and wind-induced vibration coefficients of purlin-sheet roofs

Yingying Zhang,Xiaoguang Song,Qilin Zhang 국제구조공학회 2016 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.22 No.5

This paper presents the dynamic characteristics analysis of the purlin-sheet roofs by the random vibration theories. Results show that the natural vibration frequency of the purlin-sheet roof is low, while the frequencies and mode distributions are very intensive. The random vibration theory should be used for the dynamic characteristics of the roof structures due to complex vibration response. Among the first 20th vibration modes, the first vibration mode is mainly the deformations of purlins, while the rest modes are the overall deformations of the roof. In the following 30th modes, it mainly performs unilateral local deformations of the roof. The frequency distribution of the first 20th modes varies significantly while those of the following 30th modes are relatively sensitive. For different parts, the contributions of vibration modes on the vibration response are different. For the part far from the roof ridge, only considering the first 5th modes can reflect the wind-induced vibration response. For the part near the ridge, at least the first 12 modes should be considered, due to complex vibration response. The wind vibration coefficients of the upwind side are slightly higher than that of the leeward side. Finally, the corresponding wind vibration coefficient for the purlin-sheet roof is proposed.

Failure Modes and Loading Bearing Capacity of Corrugated Steel Roofs Connected by Standing Seam Clips

Song Xiaoguang,Zhang Yingying,Zhang Qilin 한국강구조학회 2017 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.17 No.4

This paper presents the research on failure modes and loading bearing capacity of two types of purlin-sheet roofs under uniform loadings. The full-size experiments are carried out on the purlin-sheet roofs and the allowable design stress and design proposals are proposed. Besides, the finite element analysis is conducted to compare with the experiments. Results show that the failure modes and loading bearing capacity of two types of purlin-sheet roofs are different. The first is that the adjustments are pulled out from the base, while the mechanical occlusions between the adjacent sheet and adjustments are well. The latter is that the mechanical occlusions between the adjustment and sheets are tensioned fracture, while the adjustment are tensioned straight and pulled out from the sheets. The numerical calculations and experiment data are in good agreement, and the deviations are mainly because of initial defects of specimens, construction errors of specimens and loading protocols. The numerical calculation method is reliable and can be used to analyze the sheet-purlin roof connected by standing seam clips.

Numerical Parametric Analysis of the Ultimate Loading-Capacity of Channel Purlins with Screw-Fastened Sheeting

        Yingying Zhang,Jigang Xue,Xiaoguang Song,Qilin Zhang 한국강구조학회 2018 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.18 No.5

This paper presents the numerical parametric analysis on the loading capacity of Channel purlins with screw-fastened sheeting, in which the eff ects of anti-sag bar and corrugated steel sheet on the ultimate capacity are studied. Results show that the setup of anti-sag bars can reduce the deformations and improve the ultimate capacity of C purlins. The traditional method of setting the anti-sag bars in the middle of the web is favorable. The changing of sheeting type, sheeting thickness and rib spacing has signifi cant eff ects on the ultimate capacity of C purlins without anti-sag bars, compared with those with anti-sag bars. The proposed design formulas are relatively consistent with the calculations of EN 1993-1-3:2006, which is diff erent from those of GB 50018-2002.

      • Mechanical properties of new stainless steel-aluminum alloy composite joint in tower structures

        Yingying Zhang,Qiu Yu,Wei Song,Junhao Xu,Yushuai Zhao,Baorui Sun 국제구조공학회 2023 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.49 No.5

Tower structures have been widely used in communication and transmission engineering. The failure of joints is the leading cause of structure failure, which make it play a crucial role in tower structure engineering. In this study, the aluminum alloy three tube tower structure is taken as the prototype, and the middle joint of the tower was selected as the research object. Three different stainless steel-aluminum alloy composite joints (SACJs), denoted by TA, TB and TC, were designed. Finite element (FE) modeling analysis was used to compare and determine the TC joint as the best solution. Detail requirements of fasteners in the TC stainless steel-aluminum alloy composite joint (TC-SACJ) were designed and verified. In order to systematically and comprehensively study the mechanical properties of TC-SACJ under multi-directional loading conditions, the full-scale experiments and FE simulation models were all performed for mechanical response analysis. The failure modes, loadcarrying capacities, and axial load versus displacement/stain testing curves of all full-scale specimens under tension/compression loading conditions were obtained. The results show that the maximum vertical displacement of aluminum alloy tube is 26.9mm, and the maximum lateral displacement of TC-SACJs is 1.0 mm. In general, the TC-SACJs are in an elastic state under the design load, which meet the design requirements and has a good safety reserve. This work can provide references for the design and engineering application of aluminum alloy tower structures.

Identification and characterization of a novel goose-type and chickentype lysozyme genes in Chinese rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) with potent antimicrobial activity

        Yingying Zhang,Hui Yang,Weijia Song,Dan Cui,Lixin Wang 한국유전학회 2018 Genes & Genomics Vol.40 No.6

Lysozymes act as important innate immunity molecule against various pathogen infections. In the present study, a new c-type and g-type lysozymes were isolated from rare minnow Gobiocypris rarus. The deduced amino acid sequence of c-type lysozyme contained 145 residues and possessed conserved catalytic residues ( Glu53 and Asp72). The deduced g-type lysozyme contained 185 residues and possessed three conserved catalytic residues ( Glu73, Asp86 and Asp97). qPCR analysis revealed that GrlysG and GrlysC were constitutively expressed in all examined tissues. GrlysG was most abundant in kidney and liver, while GrlysC was predominantly expressed in liver. The transcripts of GrlysG and GrlysC genes could be significantly up-regulated after Aeromonas hydrophila and poly I:C infection in the kidney and liver. The recombinant GrlysG and GrlysC proteins were successfully produced and purified. The optimal pH and temperature for rGrlysG and rGrlysC protein lytic activities was determined to be 6.5 and 32 °C, respectively. From the minimal inhibitory concentration test, the rGrlysG and rGrlysC exhibited apparent antibacterial activities against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria at different concentrations. In conclusion, the present study indicated that c-type and g-type lysozymes participated the innate immune response to A. hydrophila and virus infections in fish.

Seismic behaviors of ring beams joints of steel tube-reinforced concrete column structure

        Yingying Zhang,Jianing Pei,Yuan Huang,Ke Lei,Jie Song,Qilin Zhang 국제구조공학회 2018 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.27 No.4

This paper presents the seismic behaviors and restoring force model of ring beam joints of steel tube-reinforced concrete column structure under cyclic loading. First, the main failure mode, ultimate bearing capacity, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity are studied. Then, the effects of concrete grade, steel grade, reinforcement ratio and radius-to-width ratios are discussed. Finally, the restoring force model is proposed. Results show that the ring beam joints of steel tube-reinforced concrete column structure performs good seismic performances. With concrete grade increasing, the ultimate bearing capacity and energy dissipation capacity increase, while the stiffness degradation rates increases slightly. When the radius-width ratio is 2, with reinforcement ratio increasing, the ultimate bearing capacity decreases. However, when the radius-to-width ratios are 3, with reinforcement ratio increasing, the ultimate bearing capacity increases. With radius-to-width ratios increasing, the ultimate bearing capacity decreases slightly and the stiffness degradation rate increases, but the energy dissipation capacity increases slightly.

Numerical parametric analysis on the ultimate bearing capacity of the purlin-sheet roofs connected by standing seam clips

Yingying Zhang,Xiaoguang Song,Qilin Zhang 국제구조공학회 2017 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.63 No.2

This paper presents the parametric numerical analysis on the ultimate bearing capacity of the purlin-sheet roofs connected by standing seam clips. The effects of several factors on failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity of the purlins are studied, including setup of anti-sag bar, purlin type, sheet thickness and connection type et al. A simplified design formula is proposed for predicting the ultimate bearing capacity of purlins. Results show that setting the anti-sag bars can improve the ultimate bearing capacity and change the failure modes of C purlins significantly. The failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity of C purlins are significantly different from those of Z purlins, in the purlin-sheet roof connected by standing seam clips. Setting the anti-sag bars near the lower flange is more favorable for increasing the ultimate bearing capacity of purlins. The ultimate bearing capacity of C purlins increases slightly with sheet thickness increasing from 0.6 mm to 0.8 mm. The ultimate bearing capacity of the purlin-sheet roofs connected by standing seam clips is always higher than those by self-drilling screws. The predictions of the proposed design formulas are relatively in good agreement with those of EN 1993-1-3: 2006, compared with GB 50018-2002.

A Method for k Nearest Neighbor Query of Line Segment in Obstructed Spaces

( Liping Zhang ),( Song Li ),( Yingying Guo ),( Xiaohong Hao ) 한국정보처리학회 2020 Journal of information processing systems Vol.16 No.2

In order to make up the deficiencies of the existing research results which cannot effectively deal with the nearest neighbor query based on the line segments in obstacle space, the k nearest neighbor query method of line segment in obstacle space is proposed and the STA_OLkNN algorithm under the circumstance of static obstacle data set is put forward. The query process is divided into two stages, including the filtering process and refining process. In the filtration process, according to the properties of the line segment Voronoi diagram, the corresponding pruning rules are proposed and the filtering algorithm is presented. In the refining process, according to the relationship of the position between the line segments, the corresponding distance expression method is put forward and the final result is obtained by comparing the distance. Theoretical research and experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively deal with the problem of k nearest neighbor query of the line segment in the obstacle environment.

Indole-3-acetic acid ameliorates dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis via the ERK signaling pathway

        Xinyan Qu,Yingying Song,Qingjun Li,Qi Xu,Yanru Li,Huimin Zhang,Xuemei Cheng,Charles R. Mackay,Quanbo Wang,Wei Liu 대한약학회 2024 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.47 No.3

Microbiota-derived catabolism of nutrients is closely related to ulcerative colitis (UC). The level of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA), a microbiota-dependent metabolite of tryptophan, was decreased signifi cantly in the feces of UC patients. Thus supplementationwith IAA could be a potential therapeutic method for ameliorating colitis. In this work, the protective eff ect ofsupplementation with IAA on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis was evaluated, and the underlying mechanismwas elucidated. The results indicated that the administration of IAA signifi cantly relieved DSS-induced weight loss, reducedthe disease activity index (DAI), restored colon length, alleviated intestinal injury, and improved the intestinal tight junctionbarrier. Furthermore, IAA inhibited intestinal infl ammation by reducing the expression of proinfl ammatory cytokines andpromoting the production of IL-10 and TGF-β1. In addition, the ERK signaling pathway is an important mediator of variousphysiological processes including infl ammatory responses and is closely associated with the expression of IL-10. Notably,IAA treatment induced the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), which is involved in the progressionof colitis, while the ERK inhibitor U0126 attenuated the benefi cial eff ects of IAA. In summary, IAA could attenuate theclinical symptoms of colitis, and the ERK signaling pathway was involved in the underlying mechanism. Supplementationwith IAA could be a potential option for preventing or ameliorating UC.
