Two-step Holographic Imaging Method based on Single-pixel Compressive Imaging
Jun Li,Yaqing Li,Yuping Wang,Ke Li,Rong Li,Jiaosheng Li,Yangyang Pan 한국광학회 2014 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.18 No.2
We propose an experimental holographic imaging scheme combining compressive sensing (CS) theory with digital holography in phase-shifting conditions. We use the Mach-Zehnder interferometer for hologram formation, and apply the compressive sensing (CS) approach to the holography acquisition process. Through projecting the hologram pattern into a digital micro-mirror device (DMD), finally we will acquire the compressive sensing measurements using a photodiode. After receiving the data of two holograms via conventional communication channel, we reconstruct the original object using certain signal recovery algorithms of CS theory and hologram reconstruction techniques, which demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method.

Background and Purpose Patients presenting with clinical characteristics that are strongly suggestive of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) have a high risk of developing definite NMOSD in the future. Little is known about the clinical course, treatment, and prognosis of these patients with likely NMOSD at disease onset. Methods This study prospectively recruited and visited 24 patients with the limited form of NMOSD (LF-NMOSD) at disease onset from November 2012 to June 2021. Their demographics, clinical course, longitudinal aquaporin-4 immunoglobulin G (AQP4-IgG) serology, MRI, therapeutic management, and outcome data were collected and analyzed. Results The onset age of the cohort was 38.1±12.0 years (mean±standard deviation). The median disease duration was 73.5 months (interquartile range=44.3–117.0 months), and the follow-up period was 54.2±23.8 months. At the end of the last visit, the final diagnosis was categorized into AQP4-IgG-seronegative NMOSD (n=16, 66.7%), AQP4-IgG-seropositive NMOSD (n=7, 29.2%), or multiple sclerosis (n=1, 4.2%). Seven of the 24 patients (29.2%) experienced conversion to AQP4-IgG seropositivity, and the interval from onset to this serological conversion was 37.9±21.9 months. Isolated/mixed area postrema syndrome (APS) was the predominant onset phenotype (37.5%). The patients with isolated/mixed APS onset showed a predilection for conversion to AQP4-IgG seropositivity. All patients experienced a multiphasic disease course, with immunosuppressive therapy reducing the incidence rates of clinical relapse and residual functional disability. Conclusions Definite NMOSD may be preceded by LF-NMOSD, particularly isolated/ mixed APS. Intensive long-term follow-up and attack-prevention immunotherapeutic management is recommended in patients with LF-NMOSD.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have been used to study the diffusion behavior of small gas molecules (CO2) in polyethylene terephthalate (PET)/polylactide (PLA) blends. The Flory-Huggins interaction parameters (χ) determined from the cohesive energy densities are smaller than the critical value of Flory-Huggins interaction parameters (χcritical), and that indicates the good compatibility of PET/PLA blends. The diffusion coefficients of CO2 are determined via MD simulations at 298 K. That the order of diffusion coefficients is correlated with the availably fractional free volume (FFV) of CO2 in the PET/PLA blends means that the FFV plays a vital role in the diffusion behavior of CO2 molecules in PET/PLA blends. The slopes of the log (MSD) as a function of log (t) are close to unity over the entire composition range of PET/PLA blends, which confirmes the feasibility of MD approach reaches the normal diffusion regime of CO2 in PET/PLA blends.
The effect of the HRB linker of Newcastle disease virus fusion protein on the fusogenic activity
Liu Yaqing,Liu Ying,Huang Yanan,Wen Hongling,Zhao Li,Song Yanyan,Wang Zhiyu 한국미생물학회 2021 The journal of microbiology Vol.59 No.5
Newcastle disease, designated a class A disease of poultry by the Office international des epizooties (OIE), is an acute infection caused by Newcastle disease virus (NDV). The merging of the envelope of NDV with the membrane of a target host cell is the key step in the infection pathway, which is driven by the concerted action of two glycoproteins: haemagglutinin- neuraminidase (HN) and fusion (F) protein. When the HN protein binds to the host cell surface receptor, the F protein is activated to mediate fusion. The three-dimensional structure of the F protein has been reported to have low electron density between the DIII domain and the HRB domain, and this electron-poor region is defined as the HRB linker. To clarify the contributing role of the HRB linker in the NDV F protein-mediated fusion process, 6 single amino acid mutants were obtained by site-directed mutagenesis of the HRB linker. The expression of the mutants and their abilities to mediate fusion were analysed, and the key amino acids in the HRB linker were identified as L436, E439, I450, and S453, as they can modulate the fusion ability or expression of the active form to a certain extent. The data shed light on the crucial role of the F protein HRB linker in the acquisition of a normal fusogenic phenotype.

Diarylide yellow pigments/modified SiO2 coreeshell hybrid composite particles were fabricated via a newly developed two-step procedure. The surface of diarylide yellow pigments was coated with SiO2by the hydrolysis of Na2SiO3. The obtained particles were then modified with in situ generated 3-aminopropylsilanetriol or succinic acid to form composite particles containing amino or carboxyl groups. The FT-IR spectra, TGA and TEM showed that the particles had a coreeshell structure, the SEM suggested that the surface morphology of the composite particles was smooth, and the XPS and zeta potential measurement indicated that the composite particles had a high charge load. The obtained composite particles have been applied as electrophoretic particles in the electronic paper, which demonstrated that the newly developed procedure is an effective way to produce various organic/inorganic composite particles used for electrophoretic displays.
Highly flame-retarding cotton fabrics with a novel phosphorus/nitrogen intumescent flame retardant
Peihua Zhao,Yaqing Liu,Xinhang Li,Mei Zhang,Shengnan Liu,Wenjun Liang 한국화학공학회 2014 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.31 No.9
A novel phosphorus/nitrogen intumescent flame retardant, namely 6-chloro-4-(diethylamino phosphoratephosphoryl chloride)-2-(sodium 4-aminobenzensulfonate)-1,3,5-triazine (APPCABT), has been synthesized and charac-terized by elemental analysis, FT-IR,1H-NMR and31P{H}-NMR spectroscopies. To investigate the flame-retardingproperties of the treated cotton fabrics, APPCABT was applied to the chemical treatment of the cotton fabrics surface. The flame-retarding performance of the treated samples with APPCABT was evaluated by limiting oxygen index (LOI). The thermal degradation behavior of the treated samples was studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Thesurface morphology of the treated samples was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). These results showthat APPCABT is both an intumescent flame retardant with high efficiency and an excellent char-forming agent forthe flame-retarding treatment of cotton fabrics.

An alkaliphilic, moderately halophilic, bacterium, designated strain X10-1T, was isolated from saline-alkaline soil in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, China. Strain X10-1T was determined to be a Gram-positive aerobe with rod-shaped cells. The isolate was catalase-positive, oxidase-negative, non-motile, and capable of growth at salinities of 0–16% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3%). The pH range for growth was 7.5–11.0 (optimum, pH 10.0). The genomic DNA G+C content was 47.7 mol%. Its major isoprenoid quinone was MK-7 and its cellular fatty acid profile mainly consisted of anteiso-C15:0, anteiso-C17:0, iso-C15:0, C16:0, and iso-C16:0. The peptidoglycan contained meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid. The predominant polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylglycerol. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that X10-1T is a member of the genus Bacillus, being most closely related to B. saliphilus DSM15402T (97.8% similarity) and B. agaradhaerens DSM 8721T (96.2%). DNA-DNA relatedness to the type strains of these species was less than 40%. On the basis of the phylogenetic, physiological, and biochemical data, strain X10-1T represents a novel species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus daqingensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is X10-1T (=NBRC 109404T =CGMCC 1.12295T).
