Projection mapping onto multiple objects using a projector robot

Even though the popularity of projection mapping continues to increase and it is being implemented in more and more settings, most current projection mapping systems are limited to special purposes, such as outdoor events, live theater and musical performances. This lack of versatility arises from the large number of projectors needed and their proper calibration. Furthermore, we cannot change the positions and poses of projectors, or their projection targets, after the projectors have been calibrated. To overcome these problems, we propose a projection mapping method using a projector robot that can perform projection mapping in more general or ubiquitous situations, such as shopping malls. We can estimate a projector's position and pose with the robot's self-localization sensors, but the accuracy of this approach remains inadequate for projection mapping. Consequently, the proposed method solves this problem by combining self-localization by robot sensors with position and pose estimation of projection targets based on a 3D model. We first obtain the projection target's 3D model and then use it to accurately estimate the target's position and pose and thus achieve accurate projection mapping with a projector robot. In addition, our proposed method performs accurate projection mapping even after a projection target has been moved, which often occur in shopping malls. In this paper, we employ Ubiquitous Display (UD), which we are researching as a projector robot, to experimentally evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A 36-year-old female with a high-grade fever and epigastric abdominal pain was prescribed antibiotics, but developed hypoxia and dyspnea. An echocardiography revealed diffuse hypokinesis and massive pericardial effusion, after which diagnostic cardiac catheterizationand an endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) were peformed to reveal fibrosis and infiltration of inflammation cells composed primarily of neutrophils. Clinical manifestation of a spiking fever, leukocytosis, elevated ferritin levels, skin rash and EMB findings led to a diagnosis of adultonsetStill’s disease (AOSD) with acute myocarditis. Pulse therapy of intravenous methylprednisolone was performed for three days, followedby a daily dose of prednisone (60 mg). After a course of steroid therapy for fever and pericardial effusion, and conducting a leftventricular ejection fraction, the patient showed improvement and was discharged asymptomatic within 32 days of admission. This studyis the first to report on a case of myocarditis in AOSD diagnosed by neutrophil infiltration in the myocardium.

We developed an evolutional wideband (3 to 26㎒) short-wave transmitter with an output of 1㎾ using PSM (Pulse Step Modulation) that digital (DRM: Digital Radio Mondiale) and analog AM modulation are possible. This equipment employs digital processed PSM method that high sound quality can be easily achieved in the modulation section and Class-E amplification for obtaining higher efficiency in the PA section composed of eight 125W PA. In addition, new output circuit for phase compensation of the load impedance. As a result, in the 125W PA, a drain efficiency of 95% at 3.925㎒ and 86% at 25.885㎒ was obtained. As analog AM characteristics, S/N of 54㏈ and above, distortion factor of 4% and under were obtained ranging from 3M to 26㎒. In digital modulation (DRM), S/N of about 24.5㏈ (at 25.885㎒ at 16QAM) that satisfies target performance sufficiently was obtained.
