We present the first measurement of photoproduction of J/ψ and of two-photon production of high-mass e+e- pairs in electromagnetic (or ultra-peripheral) nucleus-nucleus interactions, using Au+Au data at sNN=200 GeV. The events are tagged with forward neutrons emitted following Coulomb excitation of one or both Au@? nuclei. The event sample consists of 28 events with me<SUP></SUP>+e<SUP></SUP>->2 GeV/c2 with zero like-sign background. The measured cross sections at midrapidity of dσ/dy(J/ψ+Xn,y=0)=76+/-33(stat)+/-11(syst) μb and d2σ/dmdy(e+e-+Xn,y=0)=86+/-23(stat)+/-16(syst) μb/(GeV/c2) for me<SUP></SUP>+e<SUP></SUP>-@?[2.0,2.8] GeV/c2 have been compared and found to be consistent with models for photoproduction of J/ψ and QED based calculations of two-photon production of e+e- pairs.

We have studied 80 events of candidates for ??? capture star at rest in nuclear emulsion, where ??? hyperons are produced in (??????) reactions identified by a ?? spectrometer. The weak decay of heavy double hypernuclei is confirmed, studying the distribution of visible energy-release and the probability of emission of two fast protons, in comparison with those for single hypernuclei.

We report pressure-induced superconductivity in antiferromagnetic cerium compounds and a ferromagnetic uranium compound, focusing on the relation between the superconducting state and the Fermi surface instability in CeRhIn5 and the huge upper critical eld Hc2 in CeIrSi3 without inversion symmetry in the crystal structure. The pairing interaction is well correlated with ferromagnetism, as well as antiferromagnetism or antiferromagnetic uctuations. In the recently discovered superconductor NpPd5Al2, superconductivity is found to be located in the vicinity of an antiferromagnetically ordered state. The upper critical field Hc2 is strongly supressed by the large paramagneic eect, and the corresponding magnetization curve indicates a step-like increase at Hc2, producing a first-order phase transition. We have studied stars in nuclear emulsion due to the capture at rest of the ??? hyperons produced in the(???) reaction. The sequential weak decay of a double hypernucleus(nucleus with S= -2) has been directly observed. The double hypernucleus is assigned as either ???? or ????. This assignment excludes the existence of the H dibaryon lighter than 2203.7±0.7 MeV/c².

Effects of Enterobacteria (Burkholderia sp.) on Development of Riptortus pedestris
Kil, Y.J.,Seo, M.J.,Kang, D.K.,Oh, S.N.,Cho, H.S.,Youn, Y.N.,Yasunaga-Aoki, C.,Yu, Y.M. FACULTY OF AGRIC PUBLICATIONS-KYUSHU UNIV 2014 Journal of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu Univ Vol.59 No.1
In order to investigate the effects of intestinal bacteria on biological characteristics of Riptortus pedestris, these bacteria were isolated and identified from the midgut of field population individuals in 5 outdoor areas and laboratory population. As the result of identification of intestinal bacteria, a total of 8 strains including genus Burkholderia were isolated. Burkholderia sp. was found in 5 all field populations, but there was no Burkholderia sp. in gut of laboratory population. As a result of investigation of growth inhibition of 4 antibiotics (penicillin, ofloxacin, streptomycin, and tetracycline) against isolated 9 intestinal bacteria, ofloxacin was selected as the antibiotic for inhibition of all intestinal bacteria in this study. Selected antibiotic, ofloxacin was treated on soil, the soybean seed, and the host plant and then was provided to R. pedestris as prey. In a result of examination of developmental periods of each larval stage, body length, the number of eggs, the first oviposition time, and hatchability rate of R. pedestris after ofloxacin treatment, it was shown that Burkholderia sp. did not affect the development of the host insect but the first oviposition time was in approximately 60% compared with a control group. Thus, it was thought that the presence of Burkholderia sp. strain affected the number of eggs and the first oviposition time of R. pedestris.

When a shock wave propagates into a Helmholtz resonator, very complicated wave phenomena are formed both inside and outside the resonator tube. Shock wave reflection, shock focusing phenomena and shockvortex interactions cause strong pressure fluctuations inside the resonator, consequently leading to powerful sound emission. In the present study, the wave phenomena inside and outside the Helmholtz resonator are, in detail, investigated with a help of CFD. The Mach number of the incident shock wave is varied below 2.0 and several types of resonators are tested to investigate the influence of resonator geometry on the wave phenomena. A TVD scheme is employed to solve the axisymmetric, compressible, Euler equations. The results obtained show that the configuration of the Helmholtz resonator significantly affects the peak pressure of shock wave focusing, its location, the amplitude of the discharged wave and resonance frequency.

We have measured both the mesonic and nonmesonic weak decay widths of ^(12)_ΛC. For the mesonic decay, we have improved the accuracy of Γ_π^0 so that it reduced the error of Γ_(nm) from ≥10% to ≤5%. For the nonmesonic decay, we have solved the long standing Γ_n/Γ_p puzzle by measuring the ratio 0.51 ± 0.14 in the exclusive measurement. At the same time we have measured the width of the 3-body nonmesonic decay Γ_(2N) = 0.27 ± 0.13 for the first time. Combining the accurate Γ_n/Γ_p ratio and the first measured value Γ_(2N), we have finally obtained the Γ_n and Γ_p themselves taking account of the 3-body process. We have measured all the weak decay widths of _(12)_ΛC so that it provides the first complete set of widths for the investigation of ΔS = 1 baryon-baryon weak interaction.
